1 A son of twenty years Ahaz in his reigning, and sixteen years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he hath not done that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, as David his father,

Ахаз беше на възраст двадесет години, когато се възцари, и царува̀ шестнадесет години в Йерусалим; но не вършѝ това, което беше право пред Господа, както баща му Давид,

2 a nd walketh in the ways of the kings of Israel, and also, molten images hath made for Baalim,

а ходѝ в пътищата на Израелевите царе, направи още и лети идоли за ваалимите.

3 a nd himself hath made perfume in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burneth his sons with fire according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

При това той кадѝ в долината на Еномовия син и изгори от децата си в огъня според мерзостите на народите, които Господ беше изгонил пред израелтяните.

4 a nd sacrificeth and maketh perfume in high places, and on the heights, and under every green tree.

И жертваше и кадеше по високите места, по хълмовете и под всяко зелено дърво.

5 A nd Jehovah his God giveth him into the hand of the king of Aram, and they smite him, and take captive from him a great captivity, and bring in to Damascus, and also into the hand of the king of Israel he hath been given, and he smiteth him -- a great smiting.

Затова Господ, неговият Бог, го предаде в ръката на сирийския цар; и сирийците го поразиха и взеха от него голямо множество пленници, които отведоха в Дамаск. Също беше предаден в ръката на Израелевия цар, който му нанесе голямо поражение.

6 A nd Pekah son of Remaliah slayeth in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day (the whole sons of valour), because of their forsaking Jehovah, God of their fathers.

Защото Факей, Ромелиевият син, изби от Юдея сто и двадесет хиляди души в един ден, всички силни и храбри мъже, понеже бяха изоставили Господа, Бога на бащите си;

7 A nd Zichri, a mighty one of Ephraim, slayeth Maaseiah son of the king, and Azrikam leader of the house, and Elkanah second to the king.

и Зехрий, един силен мъж от Ефрем, уби царския син Маасия и надзирателя на двореца Азрикам, и втория след царя Елкана;

8 A nd the sons of Israel take captive of their brethren, two hundred thousand, wives, sons and daughters, and also much spoil they have seized from them, and they bring in the spoil to Samaria.

също израелтяните плениха от братята си двеста хиляди жени, синове и дъщери и при това взеха много плячка от тях, и отнесоха плячката в Самария.

9 A nd there hath been there a prophet of Jehovah (Oded his name), and he goeth out before the host that hath come in to Samaria, and saith to them, `Lo, in the fury of Jehovah God of your fathers against Judah, He hath given them into your hand, and ye slay among them in rage -- unto the heavens it hath come;

А там имаше един Господен пророк на име Одид; той излезе да посрещне войската, която идваше в Самария, и им каза: Ето, понеже Господ, Бог на бащите ви, се разгневи на Юдея, ги предаде в ръката ви; и вие ги убихте с ярост, която стигна до небето.

10 a nd now, sons of Judah and Jerusalem ye are saying to subdue for men-servants and for maid-servants to you; but are there not with you causes of guilt before Jehovah your God?

И сега възнамерявате да държите юдеите и йерусалимците като роби и робини под себе си; обаче няма ли във вас, в самите вас престъпления против Господа, вашия Бог?

11 a nd now, hear me, and send back the captives whom ye have taken captive of your brethren, for the heat of the anger of Jehovah upon you.'

И така, сега ме послушайте и върнете пленниците, които заробихте от братята си; защото яростен гняв от Господа е върху вас.

12 A nd certain of the heads of the sons of Ephraim (Azariah son of Johanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai), rise up against those coming in from the host,

Тогава някои от първенците от Ефремовите синове - Азария, Йонановият син, Варахия, Месилемотовият син, Езекия, Селумовият син, и Амаса, Адлаевият син, станаха против завърналите се от войната и им казаха:

13 a nd say to them, `Ye do not bring in the captives hither, for, to guilt against Jehovah on us, ye are saying to add unto our sin and unto our guilt? for abundant the guilt we have, and the fierceness of anger on Israel.'

Не въвеждайте тук пленниците; защото, като беззаконствахме вече против Господа, вие искате да прибавите към греховете и престъпленията ни; защото престъплението ни е голямо и яростен гняв е върху Израел.

14 A nd the armed men leave the captives and the prey before the heads and all the assembly;

Тогава войниците оставиха пленниците и плячката пред първенците и пред цялото събрание.

15 a nd the men who have been expressed by name rise and take hold on the captives, and all their naked ones they have clothed from the spoil, yea, they clothe them, and shoe them, and cause them to eat and drink, and anoint them, and lead them on asses, even every feeble one, and bring them in to Jericho, the city of palms, near their brethren, and turn back to Samaria.

И споменатите по име мъже станаха и взеха пленниците, и облякоха от плячката всички голи между тях; облякоха ги, обуха ги, дадоха им да ядат и да пият и ги помазаха, а всички слаби от тях пренесоха на осли и ги заведоха в Йерихон, града на палмите, при братята им. Тогава се върнаха в Самария.

16 A t that time hath king Ahaz sent unto the king of Asshur to give help to him;

В онова време цар Ахаз прати до асирийските царе да иска помощ,

17 a nd again the Edomites have come, and smite in Judah, and take captive a captivity.

защото едомците пак бяха дошли и поразили Юдея, и взели пленници.

18 A nd the Philistines have rushed against the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and capture Beth-Shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho and its villages, and Timnah and its villages, and Gimzo and its villages, and dwell there,

Филистимците бяха нападнали също полските градове и южната страна на Юдея и бяха превзели Ветсемес, Еалон, Гедирот, Сокхо и селата му, Тамна и селата му и Гимзо и селата му, и се бяха заселили в тях.

19 f or Jehovah hath humbled Judah because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he made free with Judah, even to commit a trespass against Jehovah.

Защото Господ смири Юдея поради Юдейския цар Ахаз; понеже той беше развратил Юдея и безчествал много против Господа.

20 A nd Tilgath-Pilneser king of Asshur cometh in unto him, and doth distress him, and hath not strengthened him,

И асирийският цар Теглат-феласар дойде при него; но той го притесни, а не го подкрепи;

21 t hough Ahaz hath taken a portion of the house of Jehovah, and of the house of the king, and of the princes, and giveth to the king of Asshur, yet it is no help to him.

защото Ахаз, като оголи Господния дом и царската къща и първенците, даде всичко на асирийския цар; но това не му помогна.

22 A nd in the time of his distress -- he addeth to trespass against Jehovah, (this king Ahaz),

Във времето на притеснението си той още повече престъпваше против Господа; такъв беше цар Ахаз.

23 a nd he sacrificeth to the gods of Damascus -- those smiting him, and saith, `Because the gods of the kings of Aram are helping them, to them I sacrifice, and they help me,' and they have been to him to cause him to stumble, and to all Israel.

Защото жертваше на дамаските богове, които го бяха поразили, като казваше: Понеже боговете на сирийските царе им помагат, на тях ще принасям жертви, за да помагат и на мене. Но те станаха причина да падне той и целият Израел.

24 A nd Ahaz gathereth the vessels of the house of God, and cutteth in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shutteth the doors of the house of Jehovah, and maketh to himself altars in every corner in Jerusalem.

Ахаз събра съдовете на Божия дом и ги съсече, затвори вратите на Господния дом и си направи жертвеници на всеки ъгъл в Йерусалим.

25 A nd in every city and city of Judah he hath made high places to make perfume to other gods, and provoketh Jehovah, God of his fathers.

И във всеки Юдов град издигна високи места, за да кади на други богове, и разгневи Господа, Бога на бащите си.

26 A nd the rest of his matters, and all his ways, the first and the last, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

А останалите негови дела и всичките му постъпки, първите и последните, са записани в Книгата на Юдейските и Израелевите царе.

27 A nd Ahaz lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in the city, in Jerusalem, but have not brought him in to the graves of the kings of Israel, and reign doth Hezekiah his son in his stead.

Ахаз заспа с бащите си и го погребаха в града, в Йерусалим, но не го занесоха в гробищата на Израелевите царе. А вместо него се възцари синът му Езекия.
