1 ` Give ye thanks to Jehovah, For good, for to the age His kindness:'

(По слав. 106.) Славете Господа, защото е благ, защото Неговата милост трае довека.

2 L et the redeemed of Jehovah say, Whom He redeemed from the hand of an adversary.

Така нека говорят изкупените от Господа, които Той изкупи от ръката на противника,

3 A nd from the lands hath gathered them, From east and from west, From north, and from the sea.

като ги събра от страните - от изток и от запад, от север и от юг.

4 T hey wandered in a wilderness, in a desert by the way, A city of habitation they have not found.

Едни се скитаха в пустинята, по усамотен път, без да намират населен град,

5 H ungry -- yea -- thirsty, Their soul in them becometh feeble,

гладни и жадни, душата им примираше в тях.

6 A nd they cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distress He delivereth them,

Тогава извикаха към Господа в бедствието си; и Той ги избави от утесненията им

7 A nd causeth them to tread in a right way, To go unto a city of habitation.

и ги заведе през прав път, за да достигнат в населен град.

8 T hey confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men.

Да славословят Господа за Неговата благост и за чудесните Му дела към човешките синове;

9 F or He hath satisfied a longing soul, And a hungry soul hath filled goodness.

защото насища жадна душа и гладна душа изпълва с блага.

10 I nhabitants of dark places and death-shade, Prisoners of affliction and of iron,

Други седяха в тъмнина и в мрачна сянка, вързани със скръб и с окови,

11 B ecause they changed the saying of God, And the counsel of the Most High despised.

защото се разбунтуваха против Божиите слова и презряха съвета на Всевишния.

12 A nd He humbleth with labour their heart, They have been feeble, and there is no helper.

Затова смири сърцето им с труд; те паднаха и нямаше кой да им помогне.

13 A nd they cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distresses He saveth them.

Тогава извикаха към Господа в бедствието си; и Той ги избави от утесненията им;

14 H e bringeth them out from the dark place, And death-shade, And their bands He draweth away.

изведе ги от тъмнината и мрачната сянка и разкъса оковите им.

15 T hey confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men.

Да славословят Господа за Неговата благост и за чудесните Му дела към човешките синове;

16 F or He hath broken doors of brass, And bars of iron He hath cut.

защото разби медните порти и железните лостове сломи.

17 F ools, by means of their transgression, And by their iniquities, afflict themselves.

А пък безумните са в скръб поради беззаконните си пътища и поради неправдите си.

18 A ll food doth their soul abominate, And they come nigh unto the gates of death,

Душата им се гнуси от всяко ястие, а те се приближават до портите на смъртта.

19 A nd cry unto Jehovah in their adversity, From their distresses He saveth them,

Тогава викат към Господа в бедствието си; и Той ги избавя от утесненията им.

20 H e sendeth His word and healeth them, And delivereth from their destructions.

Изпраща словото Си и ги изцелява, и ги отървава от ямите, в които лежат.

21 T hey confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men,

Да славословят Господа за Неговата благост и за чудесните Му дела към човешките синове;

22 A nd they sacrifice sacrifices of thanksgiving, And recount His works with singing.

и нека принасят жертви на хвала и радостно да възвестяват делата Му.

23 T hose going down the sea in ships, Doing business in many waters,

Онези пък, които излизат в морето с кораби и вършат работи в големи води,

24 T hey have seen the works of Jehovah, And His wonders in the deep.

те виждат делата на Господа и чудесата Му в дълбочините,

25 A nd He saith, and appointeth a tempest, And it lifteth up its billows,

защото когато заповядва и довежда бурния вятър, който повдига морските вълни,

26 T hey go up the heavens, they go down the depths, Their soul in evil is melted.

те се издигат до небесата и пак се спускат до дълбочините; душата им се топи от бедствие.

27 T hey reel to and fro, and move as a drunkard, And all their wisdom is swallowed up.

Люлеят се и политат като пияни, и целият им разсъдък ги напуска.

28 A nd they cry to Jehovah in their adversity, And from their distresses He bringeth them out.

Тогава викат към Господа в бедствието си; и Той ги извежда от утесненията им;

29 H e establisheth a whirlwind to a calm, And hushed are their billows.

превръща бурята в тишина и вълните ѝ утихват.

30 A nd they rejoice because they are quiet, And He leadeth them to the haven of their desire.

Тогава те се веселят, защото вълните са утихнали; така Той ги завежда в желаното от тях пристанище.

31 T hey confess to Jehovah His kindness, And His wonders to the sons of men,

Да славословят Господа за Неговата благост и за чудесните Му дела към човешките синове;

32 A nd they exalt Him in the assembly of the people, And in the seat of the elders praise Him.

нека Го и възвисяват в събранието на народа и нека Го хвалят в заседанието на старейшините.

33 H e maketh rivers become a wilderness, And fountains of waters become dry land.

Той превръща реки в пустиня и водни извори - в суша,

34 A fruitful land becometh a barren place, For the wickedness of its inhabitants.

плодородна земя - в солена пустота поради нечестието на жителите ѝ.

35 H e maketh a wilderness become a pool of water, And a dry land become fountains of waters.

Превръща пустиня във водни езера и суха земя - във водни извори;

36 A nd He causeth the hungry to dwell there, And they prepare a city of habitation.

и там заселва гладните, за да си основават градове за живеене

37 A nd they sow fields, and plant vineyards, And they make fruits of increase.

и да сеят ниви и садят лозя, и да си добиват изобилни плодове.

38 A nd He blesseth them, and they multiply exceedingly, And their cattle He doth not diminish.

Той ги и благославя, така че те много се умножават, и не дава да намалява добитъкът им.

39 A nd they are diminished, and bow down, By restraint, evil, and sorrow.

Но пак те се снишават и се смиряват от угнетение, бедствие и тъга.

40 H e is pouring contempt upon nobles, And causeth them to wander in vacancy -- no way.

Той излива презрение върху князете и ги прави да се скитат в пустиня, където няма път;

41 A nd setteth on high the needy from affliction, And placeth families as a flock.

а бедния поставя нависоко от неволя и му дава деца като стадо.

42 T he upright do see and rejoice, And all perversity hath shut her mouth.

Праведните виждат това и се радват; а всяко беззаконие си затваря устата.

43 W ho wise, and observeth these? They understand the kind acts of Jehovah!

Който е мъдър, нека внимава в това; и нека размишляват хората за Господните милости.
