1 A nd Jehovah saith unto me, `Take to thee a great tablet, and write upon it with a graving tool of man, To haste spoil, enjoy prey.'

И Господ ми каза: Вземи си една голяма дъска и напиши на нея с обикновени букви - За Махер-шалал-хаш-база;

2 A nd I cause faithful witnesses to testify to me, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah son of Jeberechiah.

и аз си избрах за верни свидетели свещеника Урия и Захария, Еверехиевия син.

3 A nd I draw near unto the prophetess, and she conceiveth, and beareth a son; and Jehovah saith unto me, `Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz,

И така, отидох при пророчицата; и тя зачена и роди син. И Господ ми каза: Наречи го Махер-шалал-хаш-баз;

4 f or before the youth doth know to cry, My father, and My mother, one taketh away the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria, before the king of Asshur.'

защото, преди детето да се научи да вика: "Татко мой!" и "Майко моя!", богатството на Дамаск и плячките на Самария ще бъдат занесени пред асирийския цар.

5 A nd Jehovah addeth to speak unto me again, saying:

И Господ ми говорѝ пак:

6 ` Because that this people hath refused The waters of Shiloah that go softly, And is rejoicing with Rezin and the son of Remaliah,

Понеже този народ се отказа от тихо течащите силоамски води и се радва за Расин и за Ромелиевия син,

7 T herefore, lo, the Lord is bringing up on them, The waters of the river, the mighty and the great, (The king of Asshur, and all his glory,) And it hath gone up over all its streams, And hath gone on over all its banks.

затова, ето, Господ извежда върху него силните и големи води на Ефрат, асирийския цар и цялата му слава; и като прелее всичките си канали и наводни всичките си брегове,

8 A nd it hath passed on into Judah, It hath overflown and passed over, Unto the neck it cometh, And the stretching out of its wings Hath been the fulness of the breadth of thy land, O Emmanu-El!

ще нахлуе и през Юдея, ще наводни и ще прелее, ще стигне до гуша и разперените му крила ще напълнят ширината на земята ти, Емануиле.

9 B e friends, O nations, and be broken, And give ear, all ye far off ones of earth, Gird yourselves, and be broken, Gird yourselves, and be broken.

Строшете се, народи, бъдете разломени и (чуйте всички, които сте в далечни страни!) опашете се; но ще бъдете разломени; опашете се; но ще бъдете разломени.

10 T ake counsel, and it is broken, Speak a word, and it doth not stand, Because of Emmanu-El!'

Съветвайте се помежду си, но съветването ще се осуети; говорете дума, но тя няма да устои; защото Бог е с нас.

11 F or thus hath Jehovah spoken unto me with strength of hand, and instructeth me against walking in the way of this people, saying,

Защото така ми говорѝ Господ със силна ръка и ме научи да не ходя по пътя на този народ, като каза:

12 ` Ye do not say, A confederacy, To all to whom this people saith, A confederacy, And its fear ye do not fear, Nor declare fearful.

Не наричайте съюз всичко, което този народ нарича съюз, и не се бойте от това, от което те се боят, нито се плашете.

13 J ehovah of Hosts -- Him ye do sanctify, And He your Fear, and He your Dread,

Господа на Силите - Него осветете, от Него се страхувайте и от Него треперете.

14 A nd He hath been for a sanctuary, And for a stone of stumbling, and for a rock of falling, To the two houses of Israel, For a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

И Той ще бъде за светилище - но и за камък, о който да се спъват, и за канара, поради която да се оскърбяват двата Израелеви дома, - за мрежа и за примка на йерусалимските жители.

15 A nd many among them have stumbled and fallen, And been broken, and snared, and captured.

О Него мнозина ще се спънат, ще паднат и ще се съкрушат, и в нея ще се впримчат и ще се уловят.

16 B ind up the testimony, Seal the law among My disciples.

Завържи увещанието, запечатай поуката между учениците Ми.

17 A nd I have waited for Jehovah, Who is hiding His face from the house of Jacob, And I have looked for Him.

И аз ще чакам Господа, който крие лицето Си от Якововия дом, и на Него ще се надявам.

18 L o, I, and the children whom Jehovah hath given to me, for signs and for wonders in Israel, From Jehovah of Hosts, who is dwelling in Mount Zion.

Ето, аз и децата, които ми е дал Господ, сме за знамение и за предвещания в Израел от Господа на Силите, Който обитава на хълма Сион.

19 A nd when they say unto you, `Seek unto those having familiar spirits, And unto wizards, who chatter and mutter, Doth not a people seek unto its God? -- For the living unto the dead!

И когато ви кажат: Допитвайте се до запитвачите на зли духове и до врачовете, които шепнат и мърморят, отговорете: Не трябва ли един народ да се допита до своя Бог? Ще прибегне ли при мъртвите заради живите?

20 T o the law and to the testimony! If not, let them say after this manner, `That there is no dawn to it.'

Нека прибегнат при закона и при свидетелството! Ако не говорят според това слово, наистина няма зазоряване за тях.

21 - - And it hath passed over into it, hardened and hungry, And it hath come to pass, That it is hungry, and hath been wroth, And made light of its king, and of its God, And hath looked upwards.

Те ще минат през тази земя зле притискани и изгладнели; и когато огладнеят, ще негодуват, ще злословят царя си и Бога си. И ще погледнат нагоре.

22 A nd unto the land it looketh attentively, And lo, adversity and darkness! -- Dimness, distress, and thick darkness is driven away, But not the dimness for which she is in distress!

После ще се взрат в земята и, ето - скръб и тъмнина, мрак на измъчване и широко разпростряла се черна нощ.
