1 A nd there is a man of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name Micah,

Имаше един човек от Ефремовата хълмиста земя на име Михей.

2 a nd he saith to his mother, `The eleven hundred silverlings which have been taken of thine, and thou hast sworn, and also spoken in mine ears; lo, the silver with me, I have taken it;' and his mother saith, `Blessed my son of Jehovah.'

Той каза на майка си: Хилядата и сто сребърника, които ти бяха откраднати, за които ти произнесе проклятие пред мене, това сребро е в мен, аз го взех. А майка му каза: Благословен да е моят син от Господа.

3 A nd he giveth back the eleven hundred silverlings to his mother, and his mother saith, `I had certainly sanctified the silver to Jehovah, from my hand, for my son, to make a graven image, and a molten image; and now, I give it back to thee.'

И като върна хилядата и сто сребърника на майка си, тя му каза: Бях посветила от себе си среброто на Господа за сина ми, за да направи изваян идол и леян кумир. Затова сега отново го давам на тебе.

4 A nd he giveth back the money to his mother, and his mother taketh two hundred silverlings, and giveth them to a refiner, and he maketh them a graven image, and a molten image, and it is in the house of Micah.

Но Михей не прие среброто от майка си; затова тя отдели двеста сребърника и ги даде на златаря, който направи от тях изваян идол и леян кумир. И вещите бяха поставени в дома на Михей.

5 A s to the man Micah, he hath a house of gods, and he maketh an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrateth the hand of one of his sons, and he is to him for a priest;

Този човек Михей, като имаше капище за богове в дома си, направи ефод и домашни идоли и посвети един от синовете си, за да бъде свещеник.

6 i n those days there is no king in Israel, each that which is right in his own eyes doth.

По това време в Израел нямаше цар. Всеки правеше каквото смяташе за правилно.

7 A nd there is a young man of Beth-Lehem-Judah, of the family of Judah, and he a Levite, and he a sojourner there.

Имаше един момък, левит, пришълец във Витлеем Юдейски, града на Юдовите потомци.

8 A nd the man goeth out of the city, out of Beth-Lehem-Judah, to sojourn where he doth find, and cometh to the hill-country of Ephraim, unto the house of Micah, to work his way.

Този момък напусна града Витлеем Юдейски и тръгна да търси някое друго място, където да се засели. И като вървеше по пътя, стигна до Михеевата къща в Ефремовата хълмиста земя.

9 A nd Micah saith to him, `Whence comest thou?' and he saith unto him, `A Levite I, of Beth-Lehem-Judah, and I am going to sojourn where I do find.'

Михей го попита: Откъде идваш? А той отговори: Аз съм левит от Витлеем Юдейски и съм тръгнал да търся някое място, където да се заселя.

10 A nd Micah saith to him, `Dwell with me, and be to me for a father and for a priest, and I give to thee ten silverlings for the days, and a suit of garments, and thy sustenance;' and the Levite goeth.

Тогава Михей му предложи: Остани при мен и ми стани отец и свещеник. Ще ти давам по десет сребърника на година, една премяна дрехи и ще ти осигуря прехрана. Така левитът остана при него.

11 A nd the Levite is willing to dwell with the man, and the young man is to him as one of his sons.

И левитът беше благодарен да живее при човека и самият той му стана като един от синовете на Михей.

12 A nd Micah consecrateth the hand of the Levite, and the young man is to him for a priest, and he is in the house of Micah,

Михей посвети левита и момъкът му стана свещеник; и остана в Михеевата къща.

13 a nd Micah saith, `Now I have known that Jehovah doth good to me, for the Levite hath been to me for a priest.'

Тогава Михей каза: Сега зная, че Господ ще ми стори добро, защото имам левит за свещеник.
