1 A nd Joshua gathereth all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and calleth for the elders of Israel, and for its heads, and for its judges, and for its authorities, and they station themselves before God.

След това Исус събра всичките Израелеви племена в Сихем и свика старейшините на Израел, началниците им, съдиите им и надзирателите им; и те се представиха пред Господа.

2 A nd Joshua saith unto all the people, `Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Beyond the River have your fathers dwelt of old -- Terah father of Abraham and father of Nachor -- and they serve other gods;

Исус каза на целия народ: Така говори Господ, Израелевият Бог: В старо време отвъд реката живееха бащите ви, Тара, Авраамовият баща и Нахоровият баща, и служеха на други богове.

3 a nd I take your father Abraham from beyond the River, and cause him to go through all the land of Canaan, and multiply his seed, and give to him Isaac.

И Аз взех баща ви Авраам от онази страна на реката, водих го през цялата Ханаанска земя, умножих потомството му и му дадох Исаак.

4 A nd I give to Isaac, Jacob and Esau; and I give to Esau mount Seir, to possess it; and Jacob and his sons have gone down to Egypt.

А на Исаак дадох Яков и Исав. И на Исав дадох поляната Сиир за притежание; а Яков и синовете му слязоха в Египет.

5 A nd I send Moses and Aaron, and plague Egypt, as I have done in its midst, and afterwards I have brought you out.

След това пратих Моисей и Аарон и те поразиха Египет с напасти, които извърших сред него, и после ви изведох.

6 A nd I bring out your fathers from Egypt, and ye go into the sea, and the Egyptians pursue after your fathers, with chariot and with horsemen, to the Red Sea;

И като извеждах бащите ви от Египет, вие стигнахте морето; а египтяните се спуснаха след бащите ви с колесници и коне в Червеното море.

7 a nd they cry unto Jehovah, and He setteth thick darkness between you and the Egyptians, and bringeth on them the sea, and covereth them, and your eyes see that which I have done in Egypt; and ye dwell in a wilderness many days.

Тогава те извикаха към Господа и Той положи мрак между вас и египтяните, навлече върху тях морето и водите ги покриха; и очите ви видяха какво сторих в Египет; и вие живяхте в пустинята дълго време.

8 ` And I bring you in unto the land of the Amorite who is dwelling beyond the Jordan, and they fight with you, and I give them into your hand, and ye possess their land, and I destroy them out of your presence.

После ви доведох в земята на аморейците, които живееха отвъд Йордан, и те воюваха против вас; но Аз ги предадох в ръцете ви и вие завладяхте земята им, и Аз ги унищожих пред вас.

9 ` And Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, riseth and fighteth against Israel, and sendeth and calleth for Balaam son of Beor, to revile you,

Тогава моавският цар Валак, Сепфоровият син, се вдигна и воюва против Израел; и прати да повикат Валаам, Веоровия син, за да ви прокълне.

10 a nd I have not been willing to hearken to Balaam, and he doth greatly bless you, and I deliver you out of his hand.

Но Аз не склоних да послушам Валаам и той даже ви благослови; и Аз ви избавих от ръката му.

11 ` And ye pass over the Jordan, and come in unto Jericho, and fight against you do the possessors of Jericho -- the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite -- and I give them into your hand.

После вие преминахте Йордан и дойдохте в Йерихон; и йерихонските мъже излязоха на война против вас: аморейците, ферезейците, ханаанците, хетите, гергесейците, евейците и йевусейците; и Аз ги предадох в ръцете ви.

12 A nd I send before you the hornet, and it casteth them out from your presence -- two kings of the Amorite -- not by thy sword, nor by thy bow.

Изпратих пред вас стършели, които прогониха двамата аморейски царе - не с твоя меч, нито с твоя лък.

13 ` And I give to you a land for which thou hast not laboured, and cities which ye have not built, and ye dwell in them; of vineyards and olive-yards which ye have not planted ye are eating.

И ви дадох земя, над която не бяхте положили труд, и градове, които не бяхте съградили, и вие живеете в тях; и ядете от лозя и маслини, които не сте садили.

14 ` And now, fear ye Jehovah, and serve Him, in perfection and in truth, and turn aside the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt, and serve ye Jehovah;

И така, сега бойте се от Господа и Му служете с искреност и истина; и махнете боговете, на които служеха бащите ви отвъд реката и в Египет, и служете на Господа.

15 a nd if wrong in your eyes to serve Jehovah -- choose for you to-day whom ye do serve; -- whether the gods whom your fathers served, which beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorite in whose land ye are dwelling; and I and my house -- we serve Jehovah.'

Но ако ви се види тежко да служите на Господа, изберете днес на кого искате да служите - на боговете ли, на които служеха бащите ви отвъд реката, или на боговете на аморейците, в чиято земя живеете; но аз и моят дом ще служим на Господа.

16 A nd the people answer and say, `Far be it from us to forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods;

Тогава народът отговори: Господ да не дава да Го изоставим, за да служим на други богове!

17 f or Jehovah our God He who is bringing us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants, and who hath done before our eyes these great signs, and doth keep us in all the way in which we have gone, and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed;

Защото Господ, нашият Бог, Той е, Който изведе нас и бащите ни от Египетската земя, от дома на робството, и Който извърши пред нас онези големи знамения, и ни опази през целия път, по който пътувахме, и между всичките племена, през които минахме.

18 a nd Jehovah casteth out the whole of the peoples, even the Amorite inhabiting the land, from our presence; we also do serve Jehovah, for He our God.'

Също Господ изгони пред нас всичките племена, аморейците, които живееха в тази земя. Затова и ние ще служим на Господа, защото Той е нашият Бог.

19 A nd Joshua saith unto the people, `Ye are not able to serve Jehovah, for a God most holy He; a zealous God He; He doth not bear with your transgression and with your sins.

Но Исус каза на народа: Няма да можете да служите на Господа; защото Той е Бог пресвят; Той е Бог ревнив; няма да прости престъпленията и греховете ви.

20 W hen ye forsake Jehovah, and have served gods of a stranger, then He hath turned back and done evil to you, and consumed you, after that He hath done good to you.'

Защото, ако изоставите Господа и служите на чужди богове, тогава Той ще се обърне против вас, ще ви стори зло и ще ви изтреби въпреки доброто, което ви е сторил.

21 A nd the people saith unto Joshua, `No, but Jehovah we do serve.'

А народът отговори на Исус: Не, а на Господа ще служим.

22 A nd Joshua saith unto the people, `Witnesses ye are against yourselves, that ye have chosen for you Jehovah to serve Him (and they say, `Witnesses!')

Тогава Исус каза на народа: Вие сте свидетели за себе си, че си избрахте Господа, за да Му служите (и те потвърдиха: Свидетели сме).

23 a nd, now, turn aside the gods of the stranger which in your midst, and incline your heart unto Jehovah, God of Israel.'

И така, сега махнете чуждите богове, които са сред вас, и преклонете сърцата си към Господа, Израелевия Бог.

24 A nd the people say unto Joshua, `Jehovah our God we serve, and to His voice we hearken.'

А народът отвърна на Исус: На Господа, нашия Бог, ще служим и Неговия глас ще слушаме.

25 A nd Joshua maketh a covenant with the people on that day, and layeth on it a statute and an ordinance, in Shechem.

И така, в същия ден Исус сключи завет с народа и му постави закон и постановление в Сихем.

26 A nd Joshua writeth these words in the Book of the Law of God, and taketh a great stone, and raiseth it up there under the oak which in the sanctuary of Jehovah.

И Исус написа тези думи в книгата на Божия закон. После взе голям камък и го изправи там, под дъба, който е близо до Господнето светилище.

27 A nd Joshua saith unto all the people, `Lo, this stone is against us for a witness, for it hath heard all the sayings of Jehovah which He hath spoken with us, and it hath been against you for a witness, lest ye lie against your God.'

Тогава Исус каза на целия народ: Ето, този камък ще ни бъде като свидетел, защото той чу всички думи, които Господ ни каза, и той ще ви бъде като свидетел, в случай че се откажете от вашия Бог.

28 A nd Joshua sendeth the people away, each to his inheritance.

Така Исус разпусна народа и всеки отиде при наследството си. Смърт и погребение на Исус Навин

29 A nd it cometh to pass, after these things, that Joshua son of Nun, servant of Jehovah, dieth, a son of a hundred and ten years,

След това Господният слуга Исус, Навиновият син, умря на възраст сто и десет години.

30 a nd they bury him in the border of his inheritance, in Timnath-Serah, which in the hill-country of Ephraim, on the north of the hill of Gaash.

Погребаха го в пределите на наследството му в Тамнат-сарах, който е в хълмистата земя на Ефрем, на север от хълма Гаас.

31 A nd Israel serveth Jehovah all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who prolonged days after Joshua, and who knew all the work of Jehovah which He did to Israel.

И Израел служѝ на Господа през всичките дни на Исус и през всичките дни на старейшините, които надживяха Исус и които знаеха всички дела, които Господ беше извършил за Израел. Погребение на патриарх Йосиф и на първосвещеник Елеазар

32 A nd the bones of Joseph, which the sons of Israel brought up out of Egypt, they buried in Shechem, in the portion of the field which Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor father of Shechem, with a hundred kesitah; and they are to the sons of Joseph for an inheritance.

В Сихем погребаха Йосифовите кости, които израелтяните изнесоха от Египет, в местността на нивата, която Яков купи за сто сребърника от синовете на Емор, Сихемовия баща; и тя стана наследство на Йосифовите потомци.

33 A nd Eleazar son of Aaron died, and they bury him in the hill of Phinehas his son, which was given to him in the hill-country of Ephraim.

Елеазар, Аароновият син, също умря; и го погребаха на хълма на сина му Финеес, който му беше даден в хълмистата земя на Ефрем.
