1 A nd it cometh to pass afterwards that David smiteth the Philistines, and humbleth them, and David taketh the bridle of the metropolis out of the hand of the Philistines.

След това Давид порази филистимците и ги покори. Давид отне Метег-ама от ръката на филистимците.

2 A nd he smiteth Moab, and measureth them with a line, causing them to lie down on the earth, and he measureth two lines to put to death, and the fulness of the line to keep alive, and the Moabites are to David for servants, bearers of a present.

Порази и моавците и ги измери с въжета, като ги накара да легнат на земята. Отмери две въжета, за да ги погуби, и едно цяло въже, за да ги остави живи. Така моавците станаха Давидови слуги и му плащаха данък.

3 A nd David smiteth Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, in his going to bring back his power by the River

Давид порази още совския цар Ададезер, син на Реов, когато той отиваше да утвърди властта си на реката Ефрат.

4 a nd David captureth from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David destroyeth utterly the whole of the charioteers, only he leaveth of them a hundred charioteers.

Давид му отне хиляда колесници, седемстотин конници и двадесет хиляди пешаци. И Давид пресече жилите на всички коне, впрегнати в колесниците. Запази от тях достатъчно само за сто колесници.

5 A nd Aram of Damascus cometh to give help to Hadadezer king of Zobah, and David smiteth of Aram twenty and two thousand men;

А когато дамаските сирийци дойдоха да помогнат на совския цар Ададезер, Давид порази двадесет и две хиляди мъже от сирийците.

6 a nd David putteth garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and Aram is to David for a servant, bearing a present; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone;

Тогава Давид постави гарнизони в Дамаска Сирия; и сирийците станаха Давидови слуги и плащаха данък. И Господ запазваше Давид където и да отиваше.

7 a nd David taketh the shields of gold which were on the servants of Hadadezer, and bringeth them to Jerusalem;

Давид взе златните щитове, които бяха върху слугите на Ададезер, и ги донесе в Йерусалим.

8 a nd from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, hath king David taken very much brass.

И от Ветах и Веротай, Ададезерови градове, цар Давид взе много мед.

9 A nd Toi king of Hamath heareth that David hath smitten all the force of Hadadezer,

А ематският цар Тоа, когато чу, че Давид поразил цялата сила на Ададезер,

10 a nd Toi sendeth Joram his son unto king David to ask of him of welfare, and to bless him, (because that he hath fought against Hadadezer, and smiteth him, for a man of wars Toi had Hadadezer been), and in his hand have been vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass,

изпрати сина си Йорам при цар Давид, за да го поздрави и да го благослови, понеже воювал против Ададезер и го поразил. Защото Ададезер често воюваше против Тоа. И Йорам донесе със себе си сребърни, златни и медни съдове.

11 a lso them did king David sanctify to Jehovah, with the silver and the gold which he sanctified of all the nations which he subdued:

Тях цар Давид посвети на Господа заедно със среброто и златото, което беше посветил, взето от всички народи, които беше покорил -

12 o f Aram, and of Moab, and of the Bene-Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob king of Zobah.

от Сирия, от Моав, от амонците, от филистимците, от амаличаните и от плячката, взета от совския цар Ададезер, Реововия син.

13 A nd David maketh a name in his turning back from his smiting Aram in the valley of Salt -- eighteen thousand;

Името на Давид се прочу, когато се върна от поражението на осемнадесет хиляди сирийци в Долината на солта.

14 a nd he putteth in Edom garrisons -- in all Edom he hath put garrisons, and all Edom are servants to David; and Jehovah saveth David whithersoever he hath gone.

Той постави гарнизони в Едом. По цялата територия на Едом постави гарнизони и всички едомци се подчиниха на Давид. И Господ запазваше Давид където и да отиваше.

15 A nd David reigneth over all Israel, and David is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,

Така Давид царува̀ над целия Израел и съдеше целия си народ, и им раздаваше правосъдие.

16 a nd Joab son of Zeruiah over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud remembrancer,

Йоав, Саруиният син, беше над войската. Йосафат, Ахилудовият син, беше летописец.

17 a nd Zadok son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, priests, and Seraiah scribe,

Садок, Ахитововият син, и Ахимелех, Авиатаровият син, бяха свещеници. Сарая беше секретар,

18 a nd Benaiah son of Jehoiada both the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the sons of David have been ministers.

Ванайя, Йодаевият син, беше над херетците и фелетците, а Давидовите синове бяха придворни началници.
