1 A nd it cometh to pass, when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem heareth that Joshua hath captured Ai, and doth devote it (as he had done to Jericho and to her king so he hath done to Ai and to her king), and that the inhabitants of Gibeon have made peace with Israel, and are in their midst, --

А когато йерусалимският цар Адониседек чу, че Исус превзел Гай и го обрекъл на изтребление и че както постъпил с Йерихон и царя му, така направил и с Гай и царя му, и че жителите на Гаваон сключили мир с Израел и останали с тях,

2 t hat they are greatly afraid, because Gibeon a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it greater than Ai, and all its men -- heroes.

много се уплашиха, той и народът му, защото Гаваон беше голям град, като един от царските градове, беше по-голям от Гай и всичките му мъже бяха силни.

3 A nd Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sendeth unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying,

Затова йерусалимският цар Адониседек изпрати хора при хевронския цар Оам, при ярмутския цар Пирам, при лахийския цар Яфий и при еглонския цар Девир да им предложат:

4 ` Come up unto me, and help me, and we smite Gibeon, for it hath made peace with Joshua, and with the sons of Israel.'

Елате при мен и ми помогнете. И нека поразим Гаваон, защото е сключил мир с Исус и с израелтяните.

5 A nd five kings of the Amorite (the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon) are gathered together, and go up, they and all their camps, and encamp against Gibeon, and fight against it.

И така, тези петима аморейски царе се събраха: йерусалимският цар, хевронският цар, ярмутският цар, лахийският цар и еглонският цар, и отидоха заедно с войските си, разположиха стан пред Гаваон и воюваха против него.

6 A nd the men of Gibeon send unto Joshua, unto the camp at Gilgal, saying, `Let not thy hand cease from thy servants; come up unto us haste, and give safety to us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorite, dwelling in the hill-country, have been assembled against us.'

Тогава гаваонците пратиха известие до Исус в стана в Галгал: Не изоставяй слугите си. Ела бързо при нас, избави ни и ни помогни, защото против нас се събраха всичките аморейски царе, които живеят в хълмистата страна.

7 A nd Joshua goeth up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, even all the mighty men of valour.

И така, Исус тръгна от Галгал, той и всичките военни мъже с него, и всичките силни и храбри мъже.

8 A nd Jehovah saith unto Joshua, `Be not afraid of them, for into thy hand I have given them, there doth not stand a man of them in thy presence.'

А Господ каза на Исус: Не се плаши от тях, защото ги предадох на тебе; никой от тях няма да устои пред теб.

9 A nd Joshua cometh in unto them suddenly (all the night he hath gone up from Gilgal),

И така, Исус ги нападна внезапно, след като цялата нощ беше вървял от Галгал.

10 a nd Jehovah doth crush them before Israel, and it smiteth them -- a great smiting -- at Gibeon, and pursueth them the way of the ascent of Beth-Horon, and smiteth them unto Azekah, and unto Makkedah.

И Господ ги хвърли в смут пред Израел; Исус им нанесе голямо поражение в Гаваон и ги преследва по склона, по който се отива за Веторон, и ги поразяваше, докато стигна до Азика и Макида.

11 A nd it cometh to pass, in their fleeing from the face of Israel -- they in the descent of Beth-Horon -- and Jehovah hath cast upon them great stones out of the heavens, unto Azekah, and they die; more are they who have died by the hailstones than they whom the sons of Israel have slain by the sword.

А докато бягаха от Израел по протежение на склона при Веторон, Господ хвърляше върху тях големи камъни от небето, като градушка, близо до град Азика, и неприятелите им измряха. Загиналите от камъните на градушката бяха повече от онези, които израелтяните убиха с меч.

12 T hen speaketh Joshua to Jehovah in the day of Jehovah's giving up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he saith, before the eyes of Israel, `Sun -- in Gibeon stand still; and moon -- in the valley of Ajalon;'

Тогава Исус се обърна към Господа - в деня, когато Господ предаде аморейците на израелтяните, и каза в присъствието на целия Израел: Спри, слънце, над Гаваон и ти, луна, над долината Еалон.

13 a nd the sun standeth still, and the moon hath stood -- till the nation taketh vengeance its enemies; is it not written on the Book of the Upright, `and the sun standeth in the midst of the heavens, and hath not hasted to go in -- as a perfect day?'

И слънцето застана на място и луната се спря, докато народът отмъщаваше на неприятелите си. Това не е ли записано в Книгата на Праведния? Слънцето застана сред небето и не бързаше да си отиде почти цял ден.

14 A nd there hath not been like that day before it or after it, for Jehovah's hearkening to the voice of a man; for Jehovah is fighting for Israel.

Такъв ден не е имало нито преди, нито след това - Господ да послуша така човешки глас; защото Господ воюваше за Израел.

15 A nd Joshua turneth back, and all Israel with him, unto the camp at Gilgal.

След това Исус и целият Израел се върнаха в стана в Галгал.

16 A nd these five kings flee, and are hidden in a cave at Makkedah,

А онези петима царе побегнаха и се скриха в пещерата при Макида.

17 a nd it is declared to Joshua, saying, `The five kings have been found hidden in a cave at Makkedah.'

И така, съобщиха на Исус: Петимата царе се скриха в пещерата при Макида.

18 A nd Joshua saith, `Roll great stones unto the mouth of the cave, and appoint over it men to watch them;

Исус каза: Струпайте големи камъни при входа на пещерата и поставете хора при нея да ги пазят;

19 a nd ye, stand not, pursue after your enemies, and ye have smitten the hindmost of them; suffer them not to go in unto their cities, for Jehovah your God hath given them into your hand.'

а вие продължавайте да гоните неприятелите си и поразете последните редици от войската им; не ги оставяйте да влязат в градовете им, защото Господ, вашият Бог, ги предаде в ръцете ви.

20 A nd it cometh to pass, when Joshua and the sons of Israel finish to smite them -- a very great smiting, till they are consumed, and the remnant who have remained of them go in unto the fenced cities,

И когато Исус и израелтяните ги поразиха с голямо клане, докато избиха почти всички, а останалите от тях, които оцеляха, влязоха в укрепени градове,

21 t hat all the people turn back to the camp, unto Joshua, Makkedah, in peace; none moved sharply his tongue against the sons of Israel.

тогава целият народ се върна с мир в стана при Исус в Макида. Никой не обели и дума против някого от израелтяните.

22 A nd Joshua saith, `Open ye the mouth of the cave, and bring out unto me these five kings from the cave;'

След това Исус каза: Отворете входа на пещерата и изведете при мен онези петима царе оттам.

23 a nd they do so, and bring out unto him these five kings from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon.

Тогава онези петима царе бяха изведени от пещерата и отведени при него: йерусалимският цар, хевронският цар, ярмутският цар, лахийският цар и еглонският цар.

24 A nd it cometh to pass, when they bring out these kings unto Joshua, that Joshua calleth unto every man of Israel, and saith unto the captains of the men of war, who have gone with him, `Draw near, set your feet on the necks of these kings;' and they draw near, and set their feet on their necks.

След като изведоха при Исус онези царе, Исус повика всичките Израелеви мъже и каза на началниците на военните мъже, които бяха ходили с него: Приближете се и стъпете с краката си на вратовете на тези царе. И те се приближиха и стъпиха на вратовете им.

25 A nd Joshua saith unto them, `Fear not, nor be affrighted; be strong and courageous; for thus doth Jehovah do to all your enemies with whom ye are fighting;'

Исус продължи: Не се бойте и не се страхувайте, бъдете силни и храбри, понеже така ще постъпи Господ с всичките ви неприятели, против които воювате.

26 a nd Joshua smiteth them afterwards, and putteth them to death, and hangeth them on five trees; and they are hanging on the trees till the evening.

След това Исус ги уби и ги обеси на пет дървета, и те висяха на дърветата до вечерта.

27 A nd it cometh to pass, at the time of the going in of the sun, Joshua hath commanded, and they take them down from off the trees, and cast them unto the cave where they had been hid, and put great stones on the mouth of the cave till this very day.

А при залез слънце Исус заповяда да ги снемат от дърветата и да ги хвърлят в пещерата, където се бяха крили, и на входа на пещерата сложиха големи камъни, които стоят там и до днес.

28 A nd Makkedah hath Joshua captured on that day, and he smiteth it by the mouth of the sword, and its king he hath devoted, them and every person who in it -- he hath not left a remnant; and he doth to the king of Makkedah as he did to the king of Jericho.

В същия ден Исус превзе Макида и порази града и царя му с острието на меча. Изтреби като обречени всички хора, които бяха в него, като не остави никого да избяга. И постъпи с макидския цар, както беше постъпил с йерихонския цар.

29 A nd Joshua passeth over, and all Israel with him, from Makkedah Libnah, and fighteth with Libnah;

След това Исус заедно с целия Израел отидоха от Макида в Ливна и воюваше против Ливна.

30 a nd Jehovah giveth also it into the hand of Israel, and its king, and it smiteth it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who in it -- it left not in it a remnant; and it doth to its king as it did to the king of Jericho.

И Господ предаде и града, и царя му в ръката на Израел; и те поразиха с острието на меча него и всички хора, които се намираха в града; не оставиха никого да избяга от града; Исус постъпи с царя му, както беше постъпил с йерихонския цар.

31 A nd Joshua passeth over, and all Israel with him, from Libnah to Lachish, and encampeth against it, and fighteth against it;

После Исус заедно с целия Израел отидоха от Ливна в Лахис, разположиха стан срещу града и воюваха против него.

32 A nd Jehovah giveth Lachish into the hand of Israel, and it captureth it on the second day, and smiteth it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who in it, according to all that it did to Libnah.

И Господ предаде Лахис на Израел; превзеха го на втория ден и поразиха с острието на меча града и всички хора, които бяха в него, точно както направиха в Ливна.

33 T han hath Horam king of Gezer come up to help Lachish, and Joshua smiteth him and his people, till he hath not left to him a remnant.

Тогава гезерският цар Оран дойде да помогне на Лахис; но Исус порази него и народа му, докато не му остави никого жив.

34 A nd Joshua passeth over, and all Israel with him, from Lachish to Eglon, and they encamp against it, and fight against it,

А от Лахис Исус и целият Израел отидоха в Еглон, разположиха стан срещу града и воюваха против него;

35 a nd capture it on that day, and smite it by the mouth of the sword, and every person who in it on that day he hath devoted, according to all that he did to Lachish.

и в същия ден го превзеха и го поразиха с острието на меча. В същия ден Исус изтреби като обречени всички хора, които бяха в него, точно както направи в Лахис.

36 A nd Joshua goeth up, and all Israel with him, from Eglon to Hebron, and they fight against it,

После Исус заедно с целия Израел отиде от Еглон в Хеврон и воюваха против града;

37 a nd capture it, and smite it by the mouth of the sword, and its king, and all its cities, and every person who in it -- he hath not left a remnant -- according to all that he did to Eglon -- and doth devote it, and every person who in it.

и като го превзеха, поразиха го с острието на меча - царя му, всичките му градове и всички хора, които бяха в него; не остави никого да избяга, точно както постъпи с Еглон, а изтреби града и всички в него.

38 A nd Joshua turneth back, and all Israel with him, to Debir, and fighteth against it,

След това Исус заедно с целия Израел се върнаха в Девир и воюваха против града;

39 a nd captureth it, and its king, and all its cities, and they smite them by the mouth of the sword, and devote every person who in it -- he hath not left a remnant; as he did to Hebron so he did to Debir, and to its king, and as he did to Libnah, and to its king.

и го превзе - царя му и всичките му градове; поразиха ги с острието на меча и изтребиха всички хора, които бяха в него; не остави никого да избяга; постъпи с Девир и царя му, както постъпи с Хеврон и както беше постъпил с Ливна и царя му.

40 A nd Joshua smiteth all the land of the hill-country, and of the south, and of the low-country, and of the springs, and all their kings -- he hath not left a remnant, and all that doth breathe he hath devoted, as Jehovah, God of Israel, commanded.

Така Исус порази цялата хълмиста земя, пустинята Негев, както и западните склонове, подножията и всичките им царе; не остави никого да избяга, а изтреби всичко, което дишаше, както Господ, Израелевият Бог, беше заповядал.

41 A nd Joshua smiteth them from Kadesh-Barnea, even unto Gaza, and all the land of Goshen, even unto Gibeon;

Исус ги порази от Кадис-варни до Газа и цялата Гесенска земя до Гаваон.

42 a nd all these kings and their land hath Joshua captured one time, for Jehovah, God of Israel, is fighting for Israel.

Всички тези царе и земята им Исус превзе наведнъж, защото Господ, Израелевият Бог, воюваше за Израел.

43 a nd Joshua turneth back, and all Israel with him, unto the camp at Gilgal.

Тогава Исус заедно с целия Израел се завърнаха в стана в Галгал.
