1 A nd Jehoshaphat his son reigneth in his stead, and he strengtheneth himself against Israel,

А вместо Аса се възцари синът му Йосафат, който се засили против Израел;

2 a nd putteth a force in all the fenced cities of Judah, and putteth garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that Asa his father had captured.

защото разположи военни сили във всички укрепени градове на Юдея и постави гарнизони в Юдовата земя и в Ефремовите градове, които баща му Аса беше превзел.

3 A nd Jehovah is with Jehoshaphat, for he hath walked in the first ways of David his father, and hath not sought to Baalim,

И Господ беше с Йосафат, понеже той ходѝ в първите пътища на баща си Давид и не потърси ваалимите,

4 f or to the God of his father he hath sought, and in His commands he hath walked, and not according to the work of Israel.

а потърси Бога на бащите си и в Неговите заповеди ходѝ, а не по делата на Израел.

5 A nd Jehovah doth establish the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah give a present to Jehoshaphat, and he hath riches and honour in abundance,

Затова Господ утвърди царството в ръката му; и цяла Юдея даде подаръци на Йосафат; така той придоби богатство и голяма слава.

6 a nd his heart is high in the ways of Jehovah, and again he hath turned aside the high places and the shrines out of Judah.

При това, като се поощри сърцето му в Господните пътища, той премахна от Юдея високите места и ашерите.

7 A nd in the third year of his reign he hath sent for his heads, for Ben-Hail, and for Obadiah, and for Zechariah, and for Nethaneel, and for Michaiah, to teach in cities of Judah,

Също в третата година от царуването си прати първенците си Венхаил, Авдий, Захария, Натанаил и Михайя да поучават в Юдейските градове,

8 a nd with them the Levites, Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.

и с тях левитите Семая, Натания, Зевадия, Асаил, Семирамот, Йонатан, Адония, Товия и Товадония, левитите и заедно с тях свещениците Елисама и Йорам.

9 A nd they teach in Judah, and with them the Book of the Law of Jehovah, and they go round about into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.

И те поучаваха в Юдея, като имаха със себе си книгата на Господния закон; и обикаляха всички Юдейски градове и поучаваха народа.

10 A nd here is a fear of Jehovah on all kingdoms of the lands that round about Judah, and they have not fought with Jehoshaphat;

И страх от Господа обзе всички царства в земите, които бяха около Юдея и не воюваха против Йосафат.

11 a nd of the Philistines they are bringing in to Jehoshaphat a present, and tribute silver; also, the Arabians are bringing to him a flock, rams seven thousand an seven hundred, and he-goats seven thousand and seven hundred.

Някои от филистимците също донесоха подаръци на Йосафат и сребро като данък; арабите още му докараха стада: седем хиляди и седемстотин овена и седем хиляди и седемстотин козлела.

12 A nd Jehoshaphat is going on and becoming very great, and he buildeth in Judah palaces and cities of store,

Йосафат продължаваше да се възвеличава твърде много; и съгради в Юдея крепости и житници-градове.

13 a nd he hath much work in cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty of valour, in Jerusalem.

И имаше много работи в Юдейските градове и военни мъже, силни и храбри, в Йерусалим.

14 A nd these their numbers, for the house of their fathers: Of Judah, heads of thousands, Adnah the head, and with him mighty ones of valour, three hundred chiefs.

А ето броя им според бащините им домове: от Юда хилядници: Адна, началникът, и с него триста хиляди души, силни и храбри;

15 A nd at his hand Jehohanan the head, and with him two hundred and eighty chiefs.

след него Йоанан, началникът, и с него двеста и осемдесет хиляди души;

16 A nd at his hand Amasiah son of Zichri, who is willingly offering himself to Jehovah, and with him two hundred chiefs, mighty of valour.

след него Амасия, Зехриевият син, който драговолно принесе себе си на Господа, и с него двеста хиляди силни и храбри мъже;

17 A nd of Benjamin: mighty of valour, Eliada, and with him, armed with bow and shield, two hundred chiefs.

а от Вениамин: Елиада, силен и храбър, и с него двеста хиляди души, въоръжени с лъкове и малки щитове;

18 A nd at his hand Jehozabad, and with him a hundred and eighty chiefs, armed ones of the host.

а след него Йозавад, и с него сто и осемдесет хиляди души, въоръжени за война.

19 T hese those serving the king, apart from those whom the king put in the cities of fortress, in all Judah.

Тези бяха мъжете, които слугуваха на царя, освен онези, които царят постави в укрепените градове из цяла Юдея.
