1 A nd the Ziphites come in unto Saul, at Gibeah, saying, `Is not David hiding himself in the height of Hachilah, on the front of the desert?'

Тогава при Саул в Гавая дойдоха зифците и казаха: Давид се крие при хълма Ехела срещу Есимон.

2 A nd Saul riseth, and goeth down unto the wilderness of Ziph, and with him three thousand men, chosen ones of Israel, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.

И така, Саул стана и слезе в зифската пустиня, като водеше със себе си три хиляди мъже, избрани от Израел. И търсѝ Давид в зифската пустиня.

3 A nd Saul encampeth in the height of Hachilah, which on the front of the desert, by the way, and David is abiding in the wilderness, and he seeth that Saul hath come after him in to the wilderness;

Саул разположи стана си на върха Ехела, който е срещу Есимон, край пътя. А Давид се намираше в пустинята. И като научи, че Саул идва да го преследва в пустинята,

4 a nd David sendeth spies, and knoweth that Saul hath come unto Nachon,

Давид изпрати хора да разузнаят и разбра, че Саул настина беше дошъл.

5 a nd David riseth, and cometh in unto the place where Saul hath encamped, and David seeth the place where Saul hath lain, and Abner son of Ner, head of his host, and Saul is lying in the path, and the people are encamping round about him.

Тогава Давид стана и дойде до мястото, където Саул беше разположил стана си, и Давид разузна мястото, където лежаха Саул и Авенир, Нировият син, военачалникът му. А Саул лежеше в ограждението от коли и народът беше разположен около него.

6 A nd David answereth and saith unto Ahimelech the Hittite, and unto Abishai son of Zeruiah, brother of Joab, saying, `Who doth go down with me unto Saul, unto the camp?' and Abishai saith, `I -- I go down with thee.'

Тогава Давид каза на хета Ахимелех и на Ависей, Саруиния син, Йоавовия брат: Кой ще дойде с мене при Саул в стана? И Ависей отговори: Аз ще дойда с теб.

7 A nd David cometh -- and Abishai -- unto the people by night, and lo, Saul is lying sleeping in the path, and his spear struck into the earth at his pillow, and abner and the people are lying round about him.

И така, Давид и Ависей се приближиха през нощта при народа и видяха, че Саул лежеше заспал в ограждението от коли и копието му беше забито в земята при главата му. А Авенир и народът лежаха около него.

8 A nd Abishai saith unto David, `God hath shut up to-day thine enemy into thy hand; and, now, let me smite him, I pray thee, with a spear, even into the earth at once -- and I do repeat to him.'

Тогава Ависей каза на Давид: Бог предаде днес врага ти в ръката ти. Нека го пронижа с копието до земята с един удар и няма да повторя.

9 A nd David saith unto Abishai, `Destroy him not; for who hath put forth his hand against the anointed of Jehovah, and been acquitted?'

А Давид отвърна на Ависей: Не го погубвай; защото кой може да вдигне ръка против Господния помазаник и да бъде невинен?

10 A nd David saith, `Jehovah liveth; except Jehovah doth smite him, or his day come that he hath died, or into battle he go down, and hath been consumed --

Давид каза още: Бъди уверен, както си уверен в живота на Господа, че Господ ще го порази. Или денят му ще дойде и ще умре, или ще влезе в сражение и ще загине.

11 f ar be it from me, by Jehovah, from putting forth my hand against the anointed of Jehovah; and, now, take, I pray thee, the spear which at his pillow, and the cruse of water, and we go away.'

Да не ми даде Господ да вдигна ръка против Господния помазаник! Вземи обаче копието, което е при главата му, и стомната с водата и да си вървим.

12 A nd David taketh the spear, and the cruse of water at the pillow of Saul, and they go away, and there is none seeing, and there is none knowing, and there is none awaking, for all of them are sleeping, for a deep sleep Jehovah hath fallen upon them.

И така, Давид взе копието и стомната с водата, които бяха при Сауловата глава, и си отидоха. Никой не видя, никой не усети и никой не се събуди; защото всички спяха, понеже дълбок сън от Господа беше паднал на тях.

13 A nd David passeth over to the other side, and standeth on the top of the hill afar off -- great the place between them;

Тогава Давид мина на срещуположната страна и застана на върха на хълма отдалеч, като между тях имаше голямо разстояние.

14 a nd David calleth unto the people, and unto Abner son of Ner, saying, `Dost thou not answer, Abner?' and Abner answereth and saith, `Who thou hast called unto the king?'

И Давид извика към народа и към Авенир, Нировия син, следното: Авенире, обади се! И Авенир отговори: Кой си ти, който викаш към царя?

15 A nd David saith unto Abner, `Art not thou a man? and who like thee in Israel? but why hast thou not watched over thy lord the king? for one of the people had come in to destroy the king, thy lord.

А Давид каза на Авенир: Ти си доблестен мъж. Кой е подобен на тебе в Израел? Защо не пазиш господаря си, царя, понеже един човек влезе да погуби господаря ти?

16 N ot good is this thing which thou hast done; Jehovah liveth, but ye sons of death, in that ye have not watched over your lord, over the anointed of Jehovah; and now, see where the king's spear, and the cruse of water which at his bolster.'

Не е добро това, което ти стори. В името на живия Господ, вие заслужавате смърт, понеже не опазихте господаря си, Господния помазаник. Вижте сега къде е копието на царя и стомната с водата, която беше при главата му.

17 A nd Saul discerneth the voice of David, and saith, `Is this thy voice, my son David?' and David saith, `My voice, my lord, O king!'

А Саул позна Давидовия глас и извика: Твоят глас ли е, сине мой, Давиде? И Давид отговори: Моят глас е, господарю мой, царю.

18 a nd he saith, `Why this -- my lord is pursuing after his servant? for what have I done, and what in my hand evil?

Каза още: Защо господарят ми преследва така слугата си? Какво съм сторил или какво зло има в ръката ми?

19 A nd, now, let, I pray thee, my lord the king hear the words of his servant: if Jehovah hath moved thee against me, let Him accept a present; and if the sons of men -- cursed they before Jehovah, for they have cast me out to-day from being admitted into the inheritance of Jehovah, saying, Go, serve other gods.

И сега, моля, нека чуе господарят ми, царят, думите на слугата си. Ако Господ те е повдигнал против мене, нека приеме жертва; но ако това са хора, човешки синове, те нека бъдат проклети пред Господа, защото са ме пропъдили, така че днес нямам участие в даденото от Господа наследство, като ми казват: Иди, служи на други богове.

20 ` And now, let not my blood fall to the earth over-against the face of Jehovah, for the king of Israel hath come out to seek one flea, as pursueth the partridge in mountains.'

И така, сега нека изтече кръвта ми на земята далеч от Господнето присъствие; защото Израелевият цар е излязъл да търси една бълха все едно гони яребица в горите.

21 A nd Saul saith, `I have sinned; turn back, my son David, for I do evil to thee no more, because that my soul hath been precious in thine eyes this day; lo, I have acted foolishly, and do err very greatly.'

Тогава Саул каза: Съгреших; върни се, сине мой, Давиде, няма вече да ти сторя зло, понеже животът ми днес беше скъпоценен в очите ти. Безумие извърших и направих голяма грешка.

22 A nd David answereth and saith, `Lo, the king's spear; and let one of the young men pass over, and receive it;

А Давид му отговори: Ето царското копие. Нека дойде един момък да го вземе.

23 a nd Jehovah doth turn back to each his righteousness and his faithfulness, in that Jehovah hath given thee to-day into hand, and I have not been willing to put forth my hand against the anointed of Jehovah,

А Господ да въздаде на всеки според правдата му и верността му; защото Господ те предаде днес в ръката ми, но аз отказах да вдигна ръката си срещу Господния помазаник.

24 a nd lo, as thy soul hath been great this day in mine eyes, so is my soul great in the eyes of Jehovah, and He doth deliver me out of all distress.'

И така, както твоят живот беше много ценен днес в моите очи, така и моят живот нека бъде много ценен в очите на Господа и Той да ме избави от всякакви беди.

25 A nd Saul saith unto David, `Blessed thou, my son David, also working thou dost work, and also prevailing thou dost prevail.' And David goeth on his way, and Saul hath turned back to his place.

Тогава Саул каза на Давид: Бъди благословен, сине мой, Давиде! Ти със сигурност ще извършиш велики дела и непременно ще победиш. И така, Давид отиде по пътя си; а Саул се върна на мястото си.
