1 A fter these things there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

2 a nd there is in Jerusalem by the sheep- a pool that is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five porches,

А в Йерусалим, близо до овчата порта, се намира къпалня, наречена по еврейски Витесда, която има пет преддверия.

3 i n these were lying a great multitude of the ailing, blind, lame, withered, waiting for the moving of the water,

В тях лежаха множество болни, слепи, куци и парализирани, които чакаха да се раздвижи водата.

4 f or a messenger at a set time was going down in the pool, and was troubling the water, the first then having gone in after the troubling of the water, became whole of whatever sickness he was held.

Защото от време на време ангел слизаше в къпалнята и размътваше водата; а който пръв влизаше след раздвижването на водата, оздравяваше, от каквато болест и да беше болен.

5 a nd there was a certain man there being in ailment thirty and eight years,

И там имаше един човек, болен от тридесет и осем години.

6 h im Jesus having seen lying, and having known that he is already a long time, he saith to him, `Dost thou wish to become whole?'

Исус, като го видя да лежи и узна, че от дълго време вече боледувал, му каза: Искаш ли да оздравееш?

7 T he ailing man answered him, `Sir, I have no man, that, when the water may be troubled, he may put me into the pool, and while I am coming, another doth go down before me.'

Болният Му отговори: Господине, нямам човек да ме спусне в къпалнята, когато се раздвижи водата, но докато дойда аз, друг слиза преди мен.

8 J esus saith to him, `Rise, take up thy couch, and be walking;'

Исус му каза: Стани, вдигни постелката си и ходи.

9 a nd immediately the man became whole, and he took up his couch, and was walking, and it was a sabbath on that day,

И човекът веднага оздравя, вдигна постелката си и започна да ходи. А този ден беше събота.

10 t he Jews then said to him that hath been healed, `It is a sabbath; it is not lawful to thee to take up the couch.'

Затова юдеите казаха на изцеления: Събота е; и не ти е позволено да вдигнеш постелката си.

11 H e answered them, `He who made me whole -- that one said to me, Take up thy couch, and be walking;'

Но той им отговори: Онзи, Който ме изцели, ми каза: Вдигни постелката си и ходи!

12 t hey questioned him, then, `Who is the man who is saying to thee, Take up thy couch and be walking?'

Попитаха го: Кой е Човекът, Който ти каза: Вдигни постелката си и ходи?

13 B ut he that was healed had not known who he is, for Jesus did move away, a multitude being in the place.

А изцеленият не знаеше Кой е; защото Исус се беше измъкнал оттам, тъй като имаше голямо множество на това място.

14 A fter these things, Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said to him, `Lo, thou hast become whole; sin no more, lest something worse may happen to thee.'

По-късно Исус го намери в храма и му каза: Ето, ти си здрав; не съгрешавай вече, за да не те сполети нещо по-лошо.

15 T he man went away, and told the Jews that it is Jesus who made him whole,

Човекът отиде и извести на юдеите, че Исус е, Който го изцели.

16 a nd because of this were the Jews persecuting Jesus, and seeking to kill him, because these things he was doing on a sabbath.

И затова юдеите гонеха Исус, защото вършеше тези неща в събота.

17 A nd Jesus answered them, `My Father till now doth work, and I work;'

А Исус им отговори: Отец Ми работи досега - и Аз работя.

18 b ecause of this, then, were the Jews seeking the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the sabbath, but he also called God his own Father, making himself equal to God.

Затова юдеите искаха още повече да Го убият; защото не само нарушаваше съботата, но и правеше Бога Свой Отец и така правеше Себе Си равен на Бога. Божествената власт на Сина и Неговите дела

19 J esus therefore responded and said to them, `Verily, verily, I say to you, The Son is not able to do anything of himself, if he may not see the Father doing anything; for whatever things He may do, these also the Son in like manner doth;

Затова Исус им каза: Истина, истина ви казвам: Синът не може да върши от Себе Си нищо, освен това, което вижда, че върши Отец; понеже каквото върши Той, същото върши и Синът.

20 f or the Father doth love the Son, and doth shew to him all things that He himself doth; and greater works than these He will shew him, that ye may wonder.

Защото Отец обича Сина и Му разкрива всичко, което Сам върши; ще Му покаже и по-велики дела, за да се чудите вие.

21 ` For, as the Father doth raise the dead, and doth make alive, so also the Son doth make alive whom he willeth;

Понеже както Отец възкресява мъртвите и ги съживява, така и Синът съживява тези, които иска.

22 f or neither doth the Father judge any one, but all the judgment He hath given to the Son,

Защото и Отец не съди никого, но е дал на Сина власт да съди всички,

23 t hat all may honour the Son according as they honour the Father; he who is not honouring the Son, doth not honour the Father who sent him.

за да почитат всички Сина, както почитат Отца. Който не почита Сина, не почита Отца, Който Го е пратил.

24 ` Verily, verily, I say to you -- He who is hearing my word, and is believing Him who sent me, hath life age-during, and to judgment he doth not come, but hath passed out of the death to the life.

Истина, истина ви казвам, който слуша Моето учение и вярва в Този, Който Ме е пратил, има вечен живот и няма да дойде на съд, но е преминал от смърт към живот.

25 ` Verily, verily, I say to you -- There cometh an hour, and it now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and those having heard shall live;

Истина, истина ви казвам, но иде час, и сега е, когато мъртвите ще чуят гласа на Божия Син и които го чуят, ще живеят.

26 f or, as the Father hath life in himself, so He gave also to the Son to have life in himself,

Защото както Отец има живот в Себе Си, също така е дал и на Сина да има живот в Себе Си;

27 a nd authority He gave him also to do judgment, because he is Son of Man.

и Му е дал власт да извършва съд, защото е Човешкият Син.

28 ` Wonder not at this, because there doth come an hour in which all those in the tombs shall hear his voice,

Не се чудете на това; защото иде час, когато всички, които са в гробовете, ще чуят гласа Му

29 a nd they shall come forth; those who did the good things to a rising again of life, and those who practised the evil things to a rising again of judgment.

и ще излязат: онези, които са вършили добро, ще възкръснат за живот, а които са вършили зло, ще възкръснат за осъждане. Свидетелства за Исус Христос и Неговите дела

30 ` I am not able of myself to do anything; according as I hear I judge, and my judgment is righteous, because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father who sent me.

Аз не мога да върша нищо от Себе Си; отсъждам, както чувам; и Моят съд е справедлив, защото не искам Моята воля, но волята на Онзи, Който Ме е пратил.

31 ` If I testify concerning myself, my testimony is not true;

Ако Аз свидетелствам за Себе Си, свидетелството Ми не е истинно.

32 a nother there is who is testifying concerning me, and I have known that the testimony that he doth testify concerning me is true;

Друг е, Който свидетелства за Мен; и зная, че свидетелството, което Той дава за Мен, е истинно.

33 y e have sent unto John, and he hath testified to the truth.

Вие пратихте до Йоан; и той засвидетелства за истината.

34 ` But I do not receive testimony from man, but these things I say that ye may be saved;

Но Аз не приемам свидетелство от човек; а казвам това, за да се спасите вие.

35 h e was the burning and shining lamp, and ye did will to be glad, for an hour, in his light.

Той беше светилникът, който гореше и светеше; и вие пожелахте да се радвате за малко време на неговата светлина.

36 ` But I have the testimony greater than John's, for the works that the Father gave me, that I might finish them, the works themselves that I do, they testify concerning me, that the Father hath sent me.

Но Аз имам свидетелство, по-голямо от Йоановото; защото делата, които Отец Ми е дал да извърша, самите дела, които върша, свидетелстват за Мене, че Отец Ме е пратил.

37 ` And the Father who sent me Himself hath testified concerning me; ye have neither heard His voice at any time, nor His appearance have ye seen;

И Отец, Който Ме е пратил, Той свидетелства за Мене. Нито гласа Му сте чули някога, нито образа Му сте видели.

38 a nd His word ye have not remaining in you, because whom He sent, him ye do not believe.

И нямате Неговото слово постоянно в себе си, защото не вярвате в Този, Когото Той е пратил.

39 ` Ye search the Writings, because ye think in them to have life age-during, and these are they that are testifying concerning me;

Вие изследвате Писанията, понеже мислите, че в тях имате вечен живот и те са, които свидетелстват за Мен,

40 a nd ye do not will to come unto me, that ye may have life;

и въпреки това не искате да дойдете при Мене, за да имате живот.

41 g lory from man I do not receive,

От човеци слава не приемам;

42 b ut I have known you, that the love of God ye have not in yourselves.

но зная, че вие нямате в себе си любов към Бога.

43 ` I have come in the name of my Father, and ye do not receive me; if another may come in his own name, him ye will receive;

Аз дойдох в името на Моя Отец и не Ме приемате; но ако дойде друг в свое име, него ще приемете.

44 h ow are ye able -- ye -- to believe, glory from one another receiving, and the glory that from God alone ye seek not?

Как можете да повярвате вие, които приемате слава един от друг, а не търсите славата, която е от единствения Бог.

45 ` Do not think that I will accuse you unto the Father; there is who is accusing you, Moses -- in whom ye have hoped;

Не мислете, че Аз ще ви обвиня пред Отца; има един, който ви обвинява - Моисей, на когото вие се облягате.

46 f or if ye were believing Moses, ye would have been believing me, for he wrote concerning me;

Защото ако вярвахте на Моисей, щяхте да повярвате и на Мене; понеже той за Мене писа.

47 b ut if his writings ye believe not, how shall ye believe my sayings?'

Но ако не вярвате на неговите Писания, как ще повярвате на Моите думи?
