1 A nd Bildad the Shuhite answereth and saith: --

فَأجابَ بِلْدَدُ الشُّوحِيُّ:

2 T he rule and fear with Him, Making peace in His high places.

«للهِ السِّيادَةُ وَالمَهابَةُ. هُوَ يَصنَعُ سَلاماً فِي الأعالِي.

3 I s their number to His troops? And on whom ariseth not His light?

أيُحصَى عَدَدُ جُنُودِهِ؟ وَعَلَى مَنْ لا يُشرِقُ نُورُهُ؟

4 A nd what? is man righteous with God? And what? is he pure -- born of a woman?

وَكَيفَ يَكُونُ الإنسانُ بَرِيئاً فِي حَضْرَةِ اللهِ؟ وَكَيفَ يَكُونُ طاهِراً مَولُودُ المَرأةِ؟

5 L o -- unto the moon, and it shineth not, And stars have not been pure in His eyes.

حَتَّى القَمَرُ غَيرُ ساطِعٍ، وَالنُّجُومُ غَيرُ طاهِرَةٍ فِي عَينَيهِ.

6 H ow much less man -- a grub, And the son of man -- a worm!

فَكَمْ بِالحِرِيِّ الإنسانُ الّذِي يُشْبِهُ اليَرَقَةَ، وَابْنُ آدَمَ الّذِي يُشْبِهُ الدُّودَ؟»
