1 A nd he said unto the disciples, `It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but wo through whom they come;

وَقالَ يَسُوعُ لِتَلامِيذِهِ: «لا مَفَرَّ مِنْ حُدُوثِ العَثَراتِ، لَكِنْ وَيلٌ لِذَلِكَ الإنسانِ الَّذِي تَأْتِي العَثَراتُ بِسَبَبِهِ!

2 i t is more profitable to him if a weighty millstone is put round about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to stumble.

سَيَكُونُ أفضَلَ لَهُ لَوْ أنَّ حَجَرَ الرَّحَى وُضِعَ حَولَ رَقَبَتِهِ، وَأُلقِيَ بِهِ فِي البَحرِ، مِنْ أنْ يُوقِعَ أحَدَ هَؤُلاءِ الصِّغارِ فِي الخَطِيَّةِ.

3 ` Take heed to yourselves, and, if thy brother may sin in regard to thee, rebuke him, and if he may reform, forgive him,

فَانتَبِهُوا لِأنفُسِكُمْ! «إذا أساءَ أخُوكَ، فَوَبِّخْهُ، وَإذا اعتَذَرَ سامِحْهُ.

4 a nd if seven times in the day he may sin against thee, and seven times in the day may turn back to thee, saying, I reform; thou shalt forgive him.'

وَإذا أخطَأ إلَيكَ سَبعَ مَرّاتٍ فِي يَومٍ واحِدٍ، وَعادَ إلَيكَ سَبعَ مَرّاتٍ مُعتَذِراً، فَسامِحْهُ.» قُوَّةُ الإيمان

5 A nd the apostles said to the Lord, `Add to us faith;'

وَقالَ الرُّسُلُ للِرَّبِّ: «قَوِّ إيمانَنا.»

6 a nd the Lord said, `If ye had faith as a grain of mustard, ye would have said to this sycamine, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.

فَقالَ الرَّبُّ: «لَوْ كانَ إيمانُكُمْ فِي حَجمِ بِذْرَةِ الخَردَلِ، لأمكَنَكُمْ أنْ تَأْمُرُوا شَجَرَةَ التُّوتِ هَذِهِ فَتَقولوا لَها: ‹انقَلِعِي وَانزَرِعِي فِي البَحرِ،› فَتُطيعَكُمْ.» الخِدمَةُ الصّالِحَة

7 ` But, who is he of you -- having a servant ploughing or feeding -- who, to him having come in out of the field, will say, Having come near, recline at meat?

وَقالَ: «لِنَفتَرِضْ أنَّ لِواحِدٍ مِنكُمْ عَبداً يَحرُثُ أوْ يَرعَى الخِرافَ، فَهَلْ يَقُولُ لِهَذا العَبدِ حِينَ يَأْتِي مِنَ الحَقلِ: ‹تَعالَ بِسُرعَةٍ وَاجلِسْ لِتَأْكُلَ›؟

8 b ut will not say to him, Prepare what I may sup, and having girded thyself about, minister to me, till I eat and drink, and after these things thou shalt eat and drink?

ألا يَقُولُ لَهُ بِالأحرَى: ‹جَهِّزْ لِي عَشائِي، وَالبِسْ ثِيابَ الخِدمَةِ وَاخدِمْنِي بَيْنَما آكُلُ وَأشرَبُ. وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ يُمكِنُكَ أنْ تَأكُلَ وَتَشرَبَ›؟

9 H ath he favour to that servant because he did the things directed? I think not.

وَهَلْ يَكُونُ مَدِيناً لِخادِمِهِ بِالشُّكْرِ عَلَى تَنفِيذِ أوامِرِهِ؟

10 ` So also ye, when ye may have done all the things directed you, say -- We are unprofitable servants, because that which we owed to do -- we have done.'

فَهَكَذا أنتُمْ أيضاً، بَعدَ أنْ تَفعَلُوا كُلَّ ما أُمِرْتُمْ بِهِ، قُولُوا: ‹نَحنُ خُدّامٌ غَيرُ مُستَحِقِّينَ، لِأنَّنا لَمْ نَفعَلْ غَيْرَ وَاجِبِنا.›» احْمِدوا الله

11 A nd it came to pass, in his going on to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee,

وَمَرَّ يَسُوعُ فِي طَرِيقِهِ إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ بِمِنطَقَةٍ مُحاذِيَةٍ لِلسّامِرَةِ وَالجَلِيلِ.

12 a nd he entering into a certain village, there met him ten leprous men, who stood afar off,

وَبَينَما كانَ يَدخُلُ إحدَى القُرَى، لاقاهُ عَشْرَةُ رِجالٍ مُصابِيْنَ بِالبَرَصِ. فَوَقَفُوا بَعِيداً.

13 a nd they lifted up the voice, saying, `Jesus, master, deal kindly with us;'

وَنادُوا بِصَوتٍ عالٍ: «يا يَسُوعُ، ياسَيِّدُ، أشفِقْ عَلَيْنا!»

14 a nd having seen, he said to them, `Having gone on, shew yourselves to the priests;' and it came to pass, in their going, they were cleansed,

فَلَمّا رَآهُمْ قالَ لَهُمْ: «اذهَبُوا وَأرُوا أنفُسَكُمْ لِلكَهَنَةِ.» وَفِيما كانُوا ذاهِبِينَ تَطَهَّرُوا مِنَ البَرَصِ.

15 a nd one of them having seen that he was healed did turn back, with a loud voice glorifying God,

فَرَجِعَ واحِدٌ مِنهُمْ عِندَما رَأى أنَّهُ شُفِيَ، وَحَمَدَ اللهَ بِصَوتٍ مَسمُوعٍ.

16 a nd he fell upon face at his feet, giving thanks to him, and he was a Samaritan.

وَارتَمَى عَلَى الأرْضِ عَلَى وَجهِهِ عِندَ قَدَمَيِّ يَسُوعَ وَشَكَرَهُ. وَكانَ هَذا الرَّجُلُ سامِرِيّاً.

17 A nd Jesus answering said, `Were not the ten cleansed, and the nine -- where?

فَقالَ يَسُوعُ: «ألَمْ يُشفَ العَشْرَةُ كُلُّهُمْ؟ فَأينَ هُمِ التِّسعَةُ الباقُونَ؟

18 T here were not found who did turn back to give glory to God, except this alien;'

ألَمْ يَرجِعْ أحَدٌ مِنهُمْ لِيَحْمِدَ اللهَ سِوَى هَذا الغَرِيبِ عَنْ بَنِي إسرائِيلَ؟»

19 a nd he said to him, `Having risen, be going on, thy faith hath saved thee.'

فَقالَ لَهُ يَسُوعُ: «قُمْ وَاذْهَبْ. إيمانُكَ قَدْ طَهَّرَكَ.» مَلَكُوتُ اللهِ داخِلَكُم

20 A nd having been questioned by the Pharisees, when the reign of God doth come, he answered them, and said, `The reign of God doth not come with observation;

وَسَألَهُ الفِرِّيسِيُّونَ: «مَتَى سَيَأْتِي مَلَكُوتُ اللهِ؟» فَأجابَهُمْ: «لا يَأْتِي مَلَكُوتُ اللهِ بِطَرِيقَةٍ مَنظُورَةٍ.

21 n or shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.'

فَلا يُقالُ إنَّهُ هُنا أوْ هُناكَ!› لِأنَّ مَلَكُوتَ اللهِ يَكُونُ فِيكُمْ.»

22 A nd he said unto his disciples, `Days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and ye shall not behold;

ثُمَّ قالَ لِتَلامِيذِهِ: «سَيَأْتِي وَقتٌ تَشتاقُونَ فِيهِ أنْ تَرَوا وَلَو يَوماً مِنْ أيّامِ ابنِ الإنسانِ حِينَ يَأْتِي فِي مَجدِهِ، لَكِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَرَوا.

23 a nd they shall say to you, Lo, here; or lo, there; ye may not go away, nor follow;

وَسَيَقُولُ النّاسُ لَكُمْ: ‹انظُرُوا هُناكَ!› أوْ: ‹انظُرُوا هُنا!› فَلا تَذهَبُوا وَلا تَتبَعُوهُمْ.» المَجِيءُ الثّانِي لِلمَسِيح

24 f or as the lightning that is lightening out of the one under heaven, to the other part under heaven doth shine, so shall be also the Son of Man in his day;

«لِأنَّهُ كَما يُومِضُ البَرقُ وَيُضِيءُ السَّماءَ مِنْ طَرَفٍ إلَى طَرَفٍ، هَكَذا سَيَكُونُ ابنُ الإنسانِ فِي يَومِهِ.

25 a nd first it behoveth him to suffer many things, and to be rejected by this generation.

لَكِنْ لا بُدَّ أوَّلاً أنْ يَتَألَّمَ كَثِيراً، وَلابُدَّ أنْ يَرفُضَهُ أهلُ هَذا الجِيلِ.

26 ` And, as it came to pass in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man;

«وَكَما كانَ الحالُ فِي أيّامِ نُوحَ، هَكَذا سَيَكُونُ الحالُ عِندَما يَأْتِي ابنُ الإنسانِ،

27 t hey were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the deluge came, and destroyed all;

إذْ كانَ النّاسُ يَأكُلُونَ وَيَشرَبُونَ وَيَتَزَوَّجُونَ وَيُزَوِّجونَ بَناتِهِمْ حَتَّى ذَلِكَ اليَومِ الَّذِي دَخَلَ فِيهِ نُوحُ السَّفِينَةَ، ثُمَّ جاءَ الفَيَضانُ وَأهلَكَهُمْ جَمِيعاً.

28 i n like manner also, as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;

«وَسَيَكُونُ الحالُ أيضاً كَما كانَ فِي أيّامِ لُوطَ، إذْ كانُوا يَأكُلُونَ وَيَشرَبُونَ وَيَبِيعُونَ وَيَشتَرُونَ وَيَبنُونَ.

29 a nd on the day Lot went forth from Sodom, He rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed all.

لَكِنْ يَومَ خَرَجَ لُوطُ مِنَ المَدِينَةِ، أمطَرَتِ السَّماءُ ناراً وَكِبرِيتاً وَأهلَكَتْهُمْ جَمِيعاً.

30 ` According to these things it shall be, in the day the Son of Man is revealed;

هَكَذا سَيَكُونُ الحالُ عِندَما يُظهَرُ ابنُ الإنسانِ.

31 i n that day, he who shall be on the house top, and his vessels in the house, let him not come down to take them away; and he in the field, in like manner, let him not turn backward;

«فَإنْ كانَ أحَدٌ فِي ذَلِكَ اليَومِ عَلَى سَطحِ بَيتِهِ، فَلا يَنزِلْ لِيَأخُذَ أمتِعَتَهُ. وَإنْ كانَ أحَدٌ فِي الحَقلِ، فَلا يَرجِعْ إلَى قَريَتِهِ.

32 r emember the wife of Lot.

تَذَكَّرُوا زَوجَةَ لُوطَ.

33 W hoever may seek to save his life, shall lose it; and whoever may lose it, shall preserve it.

كُلُّ مَنْ يُحاوِلُ أنْ يَحفَظَ حَياتَهُ سَيَخسَرُها، وَكُلُّ مَنْ يَخسَرُ حَياتَهُ يَحفَظُها.

34 ` I say to you, In that night, there shall be two men on one couch, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;

«أقُولُ لَكُمْ: إنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ فِي تِلكَ اللَّيلَةِ اثْنانِ فِي فِراشٍ واحِدٍ، فَيُؤخَذُ واحِدٌ وَيُترَكُ الآخَرُ.

35 t wo women shall be grinding at the same place together, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;

وَتَكُونُ امرَأتانِ تَطحَنانِ الحُبُوبَ مَعاً، فَتُؤخَذُ واحِدَةٌ وَتُترَكُ الأُخرَى.

36 t wo men shall be in the field, the one shall be taken, and the other left.'

وَيَكونُ رَجُلانِ فِي حَقلٍ واحِدٍ، فَيؤخَذُ أحَدُهُما وَيُتْرَكُ الآخَرُ.»

37 A nd they answering say to him, `Where, sir?' and he said to them, `Where the body, there will the eagles be gathered together.'

فَسَألَهُ تَلامِيذُهُ: «أينَ سَيَحدُثُ هَذا يا رَبُّ؟» فَقالَ لَهُمْ: «حَيثُما تَجِدُونَ الجُثَّةَ تَجِدُونَ النُّسُورَ أيضاً.»
