1 A nd the heads of the fathers of the families of the sons of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, come near, and speak before Moses, and before the princes, heads of the fathers of the sons of Israel,

فَتَقَدَّمَ رُؤَساءُ عَشِيرَةِ جِلْعادَ بْنِ ماكِيرَ بْنِ مَنَسَّى، إحدَى عَشائِرِ نَسلِ يُوسُفَ، وَتَكَلَّمُوا أمامَ مُوسَى وَرُؤَساءِ قَبائِلِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ،

2 a nd say, Jehovah commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the sons of Israel, and my lord hath been commanded by Jehovah to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

فَقالُوا: «أمَرَكَ اللهُ يا سَيَّدِي بِأنْ تُقَسِّمَ الأرْضَ لِبَني إسْرائِيلَ بِالقُرعَةِ. وَقَدْ أمَرَكَ اللهُ بِأنْ تُعطِي حِصَّةَ أخِينا صَلُفْحادَ لِبَناتِهِ.

3 ` And -- they have been to one of the sons of the tribes of the sons of Israel for wives, and their inheritance hath been withdrawn from the inheritance of our fathers, and hath been added to the inheritance of the tribe which is theirs, and from the lot of our inheritance it is withdrawn,

فَإنْ تَزَوَّجنَ مِنْ رِجالٍ مِنْ إحدَى قَبائِلِ إسْرائِيلَ الأُخرَى، فَإنَّ حِصَّتَهُنَّ مِنَ الأرْضِ سَتُؤخَذُ مِنْ حِصَّةِ آبائِنا وَعَشِيرَتِنا وَتُضافُ إلَى حِصَّةِ القَبِيلَةِ الَّتِي تَزَوَّجْنَ مِنْها. وَبِهَذا سَيَحدُثُ نَقصٌ فِي حِصَّتِنا الَّتِي حَصَلْنا عَلَيها بِالقُرعَةِ.

4 a nd if it is the jubilee of the sons of Israel, then hath their inheritance been added to the inheritance of the tribe which is theirs, and from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers is their inheritance withdrawn.'

فَحِينَ تَأتِي سَنَةُ اليُوبِيلِ لِبَني إسْرائِيلَ، سَيَتِمُّ إضافَةُ حِصَّتِهِنَّ إلَى حِصَّةِ القَبِيلَةِ الَّتِي تَزَوَّجنَ مِنْها، وَسَتُؤْخَذُ حِصَّتُهُنَّ مِنْ حِصَّةِ عَشِيرَةِ آبائِنا.»

5 A nd Moses commandeth the sons of Israel, by the command of Jehovah, saying, `Rightly are the tribe of the sons of Joseph speaking;

فَأعطَى مُوسَى هَذا الأمرَ لِبَني إسْرائِيلَ بِحَسَبِ ما قالَهُ اللهُ لَهُ: «ما تَقُولُهُ عَشِيرَةُ نَسلِ يُوسُفَ صَحيحٌ وَحَقٌّ.

6 t his the thing which Jehovah hath commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, To those good in their eyes let them be for wives; only, to a family of the tribe of their fathers let them be for wives;

وَلِذا فَهَذا ما يَأْمُرُ اللهُ بِهِ بِشَأنِ بَناتِ صَلُفْحادَ: يَمكِنُهُنَّ أنْ يَتَزَوَّجنَ مِمَّنْ يُرِدْنَ، لَكِنْ يَنْبَغِي أنْ يَتَزَوَّجنَ مِنْ رِجالٍ مِنْ عَشِيرَةِ أبِيهِنَّ.

7 a nd the inheritance of the sons of Israel doth not turn round from tribe unto tribe; for each to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers, do the sons of Israel cleave.

فَلا يُمكِنُ نَقلُ حِصَّةٍ فِي أرْضِ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ مِنْ عَشِيرَةٍ إلَى أُخْرَى، بَلْ يَنبَغِي عَلَى بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ أنْ يُحافِظُوا عَلَى حِصَّةِ عَشِيرَةِ آبائِهِمْ.

8 ` And every daughter possessing an inheritance, of the tribes of the sons of Israel, is to one of the family of the tribe of her father for a wife, so that the sons of Israel possess each the inheritance of his fathers,

عَلَى كُلِّ بِنتٍ فِي قَبائِلِ بَني إسْرائِيلَ تَرِثُ حِصَّةً مِنَ الأرْضِ أنْ تَتَزَوَّجَ مِنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ عَشِيرَةِ أبِيها كَي يَرِثَ كُلُّ واحِدٍ مِنْ بَني إسْرائِيلَ حِصَّةَ الأرْضِ الَّتِي لآبائِهِ.

9 a nd the inheritance doth not turn round from tribe to another tribe; for each to his inheritance do they cleave, the tribes of the sons of Israel.'

لا يَجُوزُ نَقلُ حِصَّةٍ مِنَ الأرْضِ مِنْ عَشِيرَةٍ إلَى أُخْرَى، لأنَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ عَشِيرَةٍ فِي بَني إسْرائِيلَ أنْ تُحافِظَ عَلَى حِصَّتِها مِنَ الأرْضِ.»

10 A s Jehovah hath commanded Moses, so have the daughters of Zelophehad done,

فَعَمِلَتْ بَناتُ صَلُفْحادَ حَسَبَ ما أمَرَ اللهُ مُوسَى بِهِ.

11 a nd Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, daughters of Zelophehad, are to the sons of their fathers' brethren for wives;

فَتَزَوَّجَتْ مَحلَةُ وَتِرْصَةُ وَحَجلَةُ وَمِلْكَةُ وَنُوعَةُ، بَناتُ صَلُفْحادَ، مِنْ أبناءِ عُمُومَتِهِنَّ.

12 o f the families of the sons of Manasseh, son of Joseph, they have been for wives, and their inheritance is with the tribe of the family of their father.

فَتَزَوَّجنَ مِنْ رِجالٍ مِنْ عَشائِرِ مَنَسَّى بنِ يُوسُفَ، فَبَقِيَتْ حِصّتُهُنَّ مِنَ الأرْضِ فِي عَشِيرَةِ أبِيهِنَّ.

13 T hese the commands and the judgments which Jehovah hath commanded, by the hand of Moses, concerning the sons of Israel, in the plains of Moab, by Jordan, Jericho.

هَذِهِ هِيَ الوَصايا وَالقَواعِدُ الَّتِي أمَرَ اللهُ بِها بَني إسْرائِيلَ عَنْ طَريقِ مُوسَى فِي سُهُولِ مُوَآبَ قُرْبَ نَهرِ الأُردُنِّ إلَى الشَّرقِ مِنْ أرِيحا.
