1 H aving been declared righteous, then, by faith, we have peace toward God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

فَبِما أنَّنا قَدْ تَبَرَّرنا بِالإيمانِ، فَقَدْ صارَ لَنا سَلامٌ مَعَ اللهِ بِرَبِّنا يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ.

2 t hrough whom also we have the access by the faith into this grace in which we have stood, and we boast on the hope of the glory of God.

كَما صارَ لَنا امتِيازُ الدُّخُولِ بِالإيمانِ إلَى هَذِهِ النِّعمَةِ الَّتِي نَعيشُ فِيها الآنَ. وَنَحنُ مُبتَهِجُونَ لِأنَّنا نَتَوَقَّعُ المُشارَكَةَ فِي مَجدِ اللهِ.

3 A nd not only, but we also boast in the tribulations, knowing that the tribulation doth work endurance;

وَلَيسَ هَذا فَقَطْ، بَلْ إنَّنا نَبتَهِجُ حَتَّى فِي ضِيقاتِنا. لِأنَّنا نَعرِفُ أنَّ الضِّيقَ يُنتِجُ صَبراً،

4 a nd the endurance, experience; and the experience, hope;

وَالصَّبرُ بُرْهانُ القُوَّةِ. وَهَذا البُرْهانُ يُنتِجُ رَجاءً.

5 a nd the hope doth not make ashamed, because the love of God hath been poured forth in our hearts through the Holy Spirit that hath been given to us.

وَالرَّجاءُ لَنْ يَخذِلَنا، لِأنَّ اللهَ قَدْ سَكَبَ مَحَبَّتَهُ فِي قُلُوبِنا بِالرُّوحِ القُدُسِ الَّذِي أُعطِيَ لَنا.

6 F or in our being still ailing, Christ in due time did die for the impious;

فَحِينَ كُنّا عاجِزِينَ عَنْ تَخلِيصِ أنفُسِنا، ماتَ المَسِيحُ فِي الوَقتِ المُناسِبِ مِنْ أجلِنا نَحنُ الأشرارَ.

7 f or scarcely for a righteous man will any one die, for for the good man perhaps some one also doth dare to die;

يَصعُبُ أنْ يُضَحِّيَ إنسانٌ بِحَياتِهِ حَتَّىْ مِنْ أجلِ إنسانٍ صالِحْ، وَرُبَّما يَتَجَرَّأُ وَيَمُوتُ مِنْ أجلِ إنسانٍ صالِحٍ.

8 a nd God doth commend His own love to us, that, in our being still sinners, Christ did die for us;

لَكِنَّ اللهَ أظهَرَ مَحَبَّتَهُ لَنا، إذْ ماتَ المَسِيحُ مِنْ أًجلِنا وَنَحنُ بَعدُ فِي خَطايانا.

9 m uch more, then, having been declared righteous now in his blood, we shall be saved through him from the wrath;

فَبِما أنَّنا تَبَرَّرنا بِدَمِ يَسُوعَ، نَكُونُ أكثَرَ يَقِيناً الآنَ بِأنَّنا سَنَنجُو مِنْ غَضَبِ اللهِ.

10 f or if, being enemies, we have been reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved in his life.

فَإنْ كُنّا، وَنَحنُ أعداءٌ للهِ، قَدْ تَصالَحنا مَعَهُ بِمَوتِ ابنِهِ، فَما أعظَمَ الخَلاصَ الَّذِي سَنَتَمَتَّعُ بِهِ الآنَ بِحَياةِ ابنِهِ، وَنَحنُ مُصالَحُونَ!

11 A nd not only, but we are also boasting in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom now we did receive the reconciliation;

بَلْ وَنَبتَهِجُ أيضاً بِاللهِ، بِرَبِّنا يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ، الَّذَي حَصَلنا عَلَى المُصالَحَةِ مِنْ خِلالِهِ. الموت بآدَمُ وَالحياة بِالمسيح

12 b ecause of this, even as through one man the sin did enter into the world, and through the sin the death; and thus to all men the death did pass through, for that all did sin;

لَقَدْ دَخَلَتِ الخَطِيَّةُ إلَى العالَمِ مِنْ خِلالِ إنسانٍ واحِدٍ، وَبِالخَطِيَّةِ دَخَلَ المَوتُ. وَهَكَذا سادَ المَوتُ عَلَى جَمِيعِ النّاسِ، لِأنَّ الجَمِيعَ قَدْ أخطَأُوا.

13 f or till law sin was in the world: and sin is not reckoned when there is not law;

كانَتِ الخَطِيَّةُ فِي العالَمِ قَبلَ إعلانِ الشَّرِيعَةِ. لَكِنَّ الخَطِيَّةَ لا تُحسَبُ إنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ هُناكَ شَرِيعَةٌ.

14 b ut the death did reign from Adam till Moses, even upon those not having sinned in the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is a type of him who is coming.

إلّا أنَّ المَوتَ قَدْ سادَ عَلَى النّاسِ مُنذُ زَمَنِ آدَمَ إلَى زَمَنِ مُوسَى. وَقَدْ سادَ المَوتُ حَتَّى عَلَى الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُخطِئُوا عَلَى طَرِيقَةِ آدَمَ الَّذِي خالَفَ وَصِيَّةَ اللهَ. وَآدَمُ صُورَةٌ لِلمَسِيحِ الآتِي.

15 B ut, not as the offence so also the free gift; for if by the offence of the one the many did die, much more did the grace of God, and the free gift in grace of the one man Jesus Christ, abound to the many;

وَلَكِنَّ عَطِيَّةَ اللهِ المَجّانِيَّةَ لَمْ تَكُنْ كَخَطِيَّةِ آدَمَ. لِأنَّهُ إنْ ماتَ جَمِيعُ النّاسِ بِسَبَبِ خَطِيَّةِ ذَلِكَ الواحِدِ، فَالأولَى أنْ تَفِيضَ نِعمَةُ اللهِ، وَالعَطِيَّةُ الَّتِي جاءَتْ عَلَى جَمِيعِ النّاسِ بِنِعمَةِ الواحِدِ يَسُوعَ.

16 a nd not as through one who did sin the free gift, for the judgment indeed of one to condemnation, but the gift of many offences to a declaration of `Righteous,'

فَنَتِيجَةُ عَطِيَّةِ اللهِ لَيسَتْ كَنَتِيجَةِ خَطِيَّةِ ذَلِكَ الإنسانِ الواحِدِ. فَقَدْ جاءَ الحُكمُ المُؤَدِّي إلَى الدَّينُونَةِ بَعدَ خَطِيَّةٍ واحِدَةٍ. أمّا العَطِيَّةُ المُؤَدِّيَةُ إلَى البِرِّ فَجاءَتْ بَعدَ خَطايا كَثِيرَةٍ.

17 f or if by the offence of the one the death did reign through the one, much more those, who the abundance of the grace and of the free gift of the righteousness are receiving, in life shall reign through the one -- Jesus Christ.

فَبِما أنَّ المَوتَ قَدْ مَلَكَ عَلَى النّاسِ مِنْ خِلالِ ذَلِكَ الواحِدِ: آدَمَ، وَبِسَبَبِ مَعصِيَتِهِ الواحِدَةِ، فَالأولَى أنَّ الَّذِينَ يَتَمَتَّعُونَ بِفَيضِ النِّعمَةِ وَعَطِيَّةِ البِرِّ سَيَملُكونَ فِي الحَياةِ الأبَدِيَّةِ مِنْ خِلالِ الواحِدِ: يَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ.

18 S o, then, as through one offence to all men to condemnation, so also through one declaration of `Righteous' to all men to justification of life;

لَقَدْ جاءَتِ الدَّينُونَةُ عَلَى جَمِيعِ النّاسِ بِمَعصِيَةٍ واحِدَةٍ. وَكَذَلِكَ جاءَ البِرُّ المُؤَدِّي إلَى الحَياةِ الأبَدِيَّةِ لِجَمِيعِ النّاسِ بِعَمَلٍ بارٍّ واحِدٍ.

19 f or as through the disobedience of the one man, the many were constituted sinners: so also through the obedience of the one, shall the many be constituted righteous.

فَكَما صارَ الكَثِيرُونَ خُطاةً بِمَعصِيَةِ إنسانٍ واحِدٍ، سَيُجعَلُ الكَثِيرُونَ أبراراً بِطاعَةِ الواحِدِ.

20 A nd law came in, that the offence might abound, and where the sin did abound, the grace did overabound,

وَأمّا الشَّرِيعَةُ فَقَدْ جاءَتْ لِكَي يَزدادَ التَّعَدِّي عَلَى الشَّرِيعَةِ! لَكِنْ حَيثُ تَزدادُ الخَطِيَّةُ، تَزدادُ نِعمَةُ اللهِ أكثَرَ.

21 t hat even as the sin did reign in the death, so also the grace may reign, through righteousness, to life age-during, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

فَكَما مَلَكَتِ الخَطِيَّةُ مِنْ خِلالِ المَوتِ، كَذَلِكَ قَدَّمَ اللهُ نِعمَتَهُ لِكَي تَملُكَ بِتَبريرِنا، فَتُؤَدِّيَ إلَى الحَياةِ الأبَدِيَّةِ بِيَسُوعَ المَسِيحِ رَبِّنا.
