1 A nd the queen of Sheba is hearing of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of Jehovah, and cometh to try him with enigmas,

وَسَمِعَتْ مَلِكَةُ سَبَأَ بِسُلَيْمانَ وَبِما فَعَلَهُ مِنْ أجلِ مَجدِ اللهِ. فَجاءَتْ لِتَمتَحِنَهُ بِأسئِلَةٍ صَعْبَةٍ.

2 a nd she cometh to Jerusalem, with a very great company, camels bearing spices, and very much gold, and precious stone, and she cometh unto Solomon, and speaketh unto him all that hath been with her heart.

فَسافَرَتْ إلَى مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ مع حاشِيَةٍ كَبِيرَةٍ فِي مَوْكِبٍ ضَخمٍ بَهِيٍّ. فَكانَ مَعَها جِمالٌ كَثِيرَةٌ تَحمِلُ تَوابِلَ وَجَواهِرَ وَذَهَباً كَثِيراً. فَقابَلَتْ سُلَيْمانَ وَطَرَحَتْ عَلَيهِ كُلَّ ما خَطَرَ بِبالِها مِنْ أسئِلَةٍ.

3 A nd Solomon declareth to her all her matters -- there hath not been a thing hid from the king that he hath not declared to her.

فَأجابَ سُلَيْمانُ عَنْ أسئِلَتِها، وَلَمْ يَصعُبْ عَلَيهِ أيُّ سُؤالٍ مِنْها.

4 A nd the queen of Sheba seeth all the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he built,

فَأدرَكَتْ مَلِكَةُ سَبَأَ عَظَمَةَ حِكْمَةِ سُلَيْمانَ. رَأتْ القَصْرَ الَّذِي بَناهُ،

5 a nd the food of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the standing of his ministers, and their clothing, and his butlers, and his burnt-offering that he causeth to ascend in the house of Jehovah, and there hath not been in her any more spirit.

وَالطَّعامَ عَلَى مائِدَتِهِ، وَمَجلِسَ كِبارِ مَسْؤُولِيهِ، وَحاشِيَةَ خَدَمِهِ وَثِيابَهُمُ وَالذَّبائِحَ الَّتِي قَدَّمَها فِي بَيتِ اللهِ. فانحَبَسَتْ أنفاسُها دَهشَةً!

6 A nd she saith unto the king, `True hath been the word that I heard in my land, concerning thy matters and thy wisdom;

فَقالَتِ المَلِكَةُ لِلمَلِكِ: «سَمِعْتُ فِي بَلَدَي الكَثِيرَ عَنْ حِكْمَتِكَ وَأعمالِكَ. وَكُلُّ ما سَمِعْتُهُ صَحِيحٌ!

7 a nd I gave no credence to the words till that I have come, and my eyes see, and lo, it was not declared to me -- the half; thou hast added wisdom and goodness unto the report that I heard.

لَمْ أُصَدِّقْ ما سَمِعْتُ بِهِ إلَى أنْ رَأيتُهُ بِأُمِّ عَينِي. وَالآنَ أُدرِكُ أنَّ ما أراهُ أعظَمُ بِكَثِيرٍ مِمّا سَمِعْتُ بِهِ. فَثَراؤُكَ وَحِكمَتُكَ تَفُوقُ ما أُخبِرْتُ بِهِ.

8 O the happiness of thy men, O the happiness of thy servants -- these -- who are standing before thee continually, who are hearing thy wisdom!

فَهَنِيئاً لِزَوجاتِكَ وَمُوَظَّفِيكَ! إذْ يُمكِنُهُمْ أنْ يَخدِمُوكَ وَيَسمَعُوا حِكمَتَكَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ.

9 J ehovah thy God is blessed who delighted in thee, to put thee on the throne of Israel; in Jehovah's loving Israel to the age He doth set thee for king, to do judgment and righteousness.

تَبارَكَ إلَهُكَ الَّذِي سُرَّ بِأنْ يُنَصِّبَكَ مَلِكاً عَلَى إسْرائِيلَ. فَقَدْ أحَبَّ اللهُ بَنِي إسْرائِيلَ بِلا حُدُودٍ، فَجَعَلَكَ مَلِكاً لِتُقيمَ العَدلَ وَالاسْتِقامَةَ.»

10 A nd she giveth to the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices very many, and precious stone; there came not like that spice any more for abundance that the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

ثُمَّ أعطَتْ مَلِكَةُ سَبَأَ المَلِكَ مِئَةً وَعِشْرِينَ قِنْطاراً مِنَ الذَّهَبِ، وَكَمِّيَّةً كَبيرَةً مِنَ التَّوابِلِ وَالحِجارَةِ الكَرِيمَةِ. وَلَمْ يُقَدِّمْ إنسانٌ تَوابِلَ فاخِرَةً لِلمَلِكِ سُلَيْمانَ كَتِلكَ الَّتِي قَدَّمَتْها لَهُ مَلِكَةُ سَبَأَ.

11 A nd also, the navy of Hiram that bore gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir almug-trees very many, and precious stone;

وَكانَتْ سُفُنُ حِيرامَ أيضاً تُحضِرُ مِنْ مَدينَةِ أُوفِيرَ ذَهَباً وَخَشَبَ صَنْدَلٍ فاخِراً وَجَواهِرَ كَثِيرَةً.

12 a nd the king maketh the almug-trees a support for the house of Jehovah, and for the house of the king, and harps and psalteries for singers; there have not come such almug-trees, nor have there been seen unto this day.

فَاسْتَخدَمَ سُلَيْمانُ هَذا الخَشَبَ فِي بِناءِ دَعاماتٍ فِي الهَيكَلِ وَفِي القَصْرِ، وَفِي صُنْعِ الأعوادِ وَالقَياثِيرَ لِلمُوسِيقِيِّينَ. فَلَمْ يُحضِرْ أحَدٌ أوْ يَرَ ذَلِكَ النَّوعَ مِنَ الخَشَبِ فِي إسْرائِيلَ مُنذُ ذَلِكَ الوَقتِ.

13 A nd king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire that she asked, apart from that which he gave to her as a memorial of king Solomon, and she turneth and goeth to her land, she and her servants.

ثُمَّ أعطَى المَلِكُ سُلَيْمانُ مَلِكَةَ سَبَأَ هَدايا كَثِيرَةً حَسَبَ كَرَمِهِ المَلَكِيِّ. وَأعطاها فَوقَ ذَلِكَ كُلَّ ما طَلَبَتْهُ، حَتَّى أنَّهُ أعْطاها أكْثَرَ مِمّا جاءَتْ بِهِ. وَبَعدَ ذَلِكَ رَجِعَتِ المَلِكَةُ وَحاشِيَتُها إلَى مَوطِنِها. ثروةُ سُلَيمان

14 A nd the weight of the gold that hath come to Solomon in one year is six hundred sixty and six talents of gold,

وَجَمَعَ سُلَيْمانُ في سَنَةٍ واحِدَةٍ سِتَّ مِئَةٍ وَسِتَّةً وَسِتِّينَ قِنْطاراً مِنَ الذَّهَبِ.

15 a part from the tourists, and of the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the land.

وَفَضلاً عَنْ شُحناتِ الذَّهَبِ الكَبِيرَةِ، كانَ يَحْصُلُ عَلى ذَهَبٍ مِنَ التُّجّارِ الكِبارِ وَالصِّغارِ، وَمِنْ مُلُوكِ العَرَبِ وَوُلاةِ الأرْضِ.

16 A nd king Solomon maketh two hundred targets of alloyed gold -- six hundred of gold go up on the one target;

فَصَنَعَ المَلِكُ سُلَيْمانُ مِئَتَي تُرسٍ منَ الذَّهَبِ المَطرُوقِ. في كُلِّ تُرسٍ سِتُّ مِئِةِ مِثْقالٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ.

17 a nd three hundred shields of alloyed gold -- three pounds of gold go up on the one shield; and the king putteth them the house of the forest of Lebanon.

وَصَنَعَ سُلَيْمانُ أيضاً ثَلاثَ مئَةِ تُرسٍ صَغِيرٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ المَطرُوقِ. في كُلِّ تُرسٍ ثَلاثَةُ أرْطالٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ. وَوَضَعَها فِي المَبنَى المُسَمَّى «بَيْتَ غابَةِ لُبْنانَ.»

18 A nd the king maketh a great throne of ivory, and overlayeth it with refined gold;

وَبَنَى سُلَيْمانُ أيضاً عَرشاً عاجِيّاً ضَخْماً، وَغَشَّاهُ بِذَهَبٍ نَقِيٍّ.

19 s ix steps hath the throne, and a round top to the throne behind it, and hands on this and on that, unto the place of the sitting, and two lions are standing near the hands,

وَكانَتْ لِلعَرشِ سِتُّ دَرَجاتٍ، وَكانَ مُسْتَدِيراً مِنْ فَوقُ. وَلَهُ عَلَى جانِبَيهِ يَدانِ. وَكانَ عَلَى جانِبَيِّ العَرشِ، تَحتَ اليَدَينِ تَماماً، نَحْتاً عَلَى شَكلِ أسَدينِ.

20 a nd twelve lions are standing there on the six steps, on this and on that; it hath not been made so for any kingdom.

كَما كانَ هُناكَ تِمثالانِ لِأسَدَينِ عَلَى كُلِّ دَرَجَةٍ مِنْ دَرَجاتِ العَرشِ السِّتِّ، واحِدٌ عِندَ كُلِّ طَرَفٍ. وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي أيَّةِ مَملَكَةٍ أُخْرَى مِثلُ هَذا العَرشِ.

21 A nd all the drinking vessels of king Solomon of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon of refined gold -- there are none of silver; it was not reckoned in the days of Solomon for anything,

وَقَدْ صُنِعَتْ أقداحُ سُلَيْمانَ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ. وَكانَتِ الأطباقُ فِي المَبنَى المُسَمَّى «بَيْتَ غابَةِ لُبْنانَ.» مَصنُوعَةً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ نَقِيٍّ. وَلَمْ يَكُنْ فِي القَصْرِ شيءٌ مَصنُوعٌ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ. فَقَدْ كانَ الذَّهَبُ وَفِيراً فِي زَمَنِ سُلَيْمانَ، حَتَّى إنَّ الفِضَّةَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَها اعْتِبارٌ!

22 f or a navy of Tarshish hath the king at sea with a navy of Hiram; once in three years cometh the navy of Tarshish, bearing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

وَامتَلَكَ المَلِكُ أُسطُولاً مِنَ السُّفُنِ كانَ يُرسِلُها إلَى مَدِينَةِ تَرْشِيشَ مَعَ سُفُنِ حِيرامَ. وَكانَتِ السُّفُنُ تعُودُ كُلَّ ثَلاثِ سَنَواتٍ مُحَمَّلَةً بِحُمُولَةٍ جَدِيدَةٍ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالفِضَّةِ وَالعاجِ وَالقُرودِ وَالطَّواوِيسِ.

23 A nd king Solomon is greater than any of the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom,

وَفاقَ سُلَيْمانُ كُلَّ مُلُوكِ الأرْضِ غِنَى وَحِكمَةً.

24 a nd all the earth is seeking the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom that God hath put into his heart,

وَتَلَهَّفَ كُلُّ النّاسِ عَلَى رُؤْيَةِ سُلَيْمانَ وَالاسْتِماعِ إلَى أقوالِهِ الحَكِيمَةِ الَّتِي وَضَعَها اللهُ فِي قَلبِهِ.

25 a nd they are bringing each his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, the matter of a year in a year.

فَكانَ يَتَوافَدُ عَلَيهِ النّاسُ كُلَّ سَنَةٍ حامِلِينَ هَدايا مِنْ فِضَّةٍ وَمِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَأسلِحَةً وَتَوابِلَ وَخُيُولاً وَبِغالاً.

26 A nd Solomon gathereth chariots, and horsemen, and he hath a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he placeth them in the cities of the chariot, and with the king in Jerusalem.

وَاقتَنَى سُلَيْمانُ عَدَداً هائِلاً مِنَ المَركَباتِ وَالخُيُولِ. فَكانَ لَدَيهِ ألفٌ وَأربَعُ مِئَةِ مَركَبَةٍ وَاثنا عَشَرَ ألفَ حِصانٍ. وَبَنَى سُلَيْمانُ مُدُناً خاصَّةً لِحِفظِ المَركَباتِ. وَأبقَى بَعضاً مِنَ المَركَباتِ مَعَهُ فِي القُدْسِ.

27 A nd the king maketh the silver in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he hath made as the sycamores that in the low country, for abundance.

وَأثْرَى المَلِكُ إسْرائِيلَ كَثِيراً. فَكانَتِ الفِضَّةُ فِي القُدسِ بِكَثْرَةِ الحِجارَةِ، وَخَشَبُ الأرْزِ بِكَثْرَةِ أشجارِ الجُمَيز النّامِيَةِ عَلَى التِّلالِ الغَربيَّةِ.

28 A nd the outgoing of the horses that king Solomon hath from Egypt, and from Keveh; merchants of the king take from Keveh at a price;

وَجَلَبَ سُلَيْمانُ خُيُولاً مِنْ مِصْرَ وَمِنْ قُوي، حَيثُ اشتَراها لَهُ تُجّارُهُ.

29 a nd a chariot cometh up and cometh out of Egypt for six hundred silverlings, and a horse for fifty and a hundred, and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Aram; by their hand they bring out.

وَكانَ ثَمَنُ المَركَبَةِ مِنْ مِصْرَ سِتَّ مِئَةِ مِثْقالٍ مِنَ الفِضَّةِ، بَينَما كانَ ثَمَنُ الحِصانِ مِئَةً وَخَمْسِينَ مِثْقالاً مِنَ الفِضَّةِ. وَكانَ سُلَيْمانُ بِدَورِهِ يَبِيعُ خُيُولاً وَمَركِباتٍ لِمُلُوكِ الحِثِّيِّينَ وَالأرامِيِّينَ.
