1 W ords of Amos -- who hath been among herdsmen of Tekoa -- that he hath seen concerning Israel, in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash king of Israel, two years before the shaking;

كَلامُ عامُوسَ الَّذِي كانَ مِنَ الرُّعاةِ فِي مَدِينَةِ تَقُوعَ. وَقَدْ تَلَقَّى هَذا الكَلامَ فِي رُؤَىً عَنْ إسْرائِيلَ فِي فَترَةِ حُكمِ المَلِكِ عُزِّيّا مَلِكِ يَهُوذا، وَفَترَةِ حُكمِ المَلِكِ يَرُبْعامَ مَلِكِ إسْرائِيلَ، قَبلَ الهِزَّةِ الأرْضِيَّةِ بِسَنَتَينِ.

2 a nd he saith: Jehovah from Zion doth roar, And from Jerusalem giveth forth His voice, And mourned have pastures of the shepherds, And withered hath the top of Carmel!

قالَ عامُوسُ: «يَزْأرُ اللهُ مِنْ صِهْيَوْنَ كَأسَدٍ يَستَعِدُّ لِلهُجُومِ، وَمِنْ مَدينَةِ القُدْسِ يَرفَعُ صَوتَهُ. مَراعِي الرُّعاةِ سَتَجِفُّ، وَقِمَّةُ جَبَلِ الكَرْمَلِ سَتَيبَسُ.» عِقابُ أرام

3 A nd thus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Damascus, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their threshing Gilead with sharp-pointed irons,

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ دِمَشقَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ سَحَقُوا شَعبَ جِلْعادَ بِدَرّاساتٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ.

4 A nd I have sent a fire against the house of Hazael, And it hath consumed the palaces of Ben-Hadad.

لِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى قَصْرِ المَلِكِ حَزائِيلَ، لِتَلْتَهِمَ قُصُورَ المَلِكِ بَنْهَدَدَ بِالكامِلِ.

5 A nd I have broken the bar of Damascus, And cut off the inhabitant from Bikat-Aven, And a holder of a sceptre from Beth-Eden, And removed have been the people of Aram to Kir, said Jehovah.

وَسَأُحَطِّمُ مِزلاجَ بَوّابَةِ دِمَشقَ. سَأُهلِكُ الحاكِمَ فِي وادِي آوَنَ، وَالَّذِي يُمسِكُ بِالصُّولَجانِ فِي بَيتَ عَدْنٍ. وَسَيُسْبَى شَعبُ أرامَ إلَى قِيرَ.» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ. عِقابُ الفِلَسطِيِّين

6 T hus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Gaza, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their removing a complete captivity, To deliver up to Edom,

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ الرَّبُّ الإلَهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ غَزَّةَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ لِأنَّهُمْ أمسَكُوا كَثِيرِينَ لِيَبِيعُوهُمْ كَعَبِيدٍ لِأدُومَ.

7 A nd I have sent a fire against the wall of Gaza, And it hath consumed her palaces;

وَلِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى سُورِ غَزَّةَ، فَتُحْرِقُ قُصُورَها بِالكامِلِ.

8 A nd I have cut off the inhabitant from Ashdod, And a holder of a sceptre from Ashkelon, And have turned back My hand against Ekron, And perished have the remnant of the Philistines, Said the Lord Jehovah.

وسَأُهلِكُ حُكّامَ أشدُودَ، وَمَن يُمسِكُ بِالصُّولجانِ فِي أشقَلُونَ. وَسَأُوَجِّهُ يَدِي ضِدَّ عَقْرُونَ. الفَلَسطِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ يَنجُونَ سَيَمُوتُونَ.» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ. عِقابُ صُور

9 T hus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Tyre, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their delivering up a complete captivity to Edom, And they remembered not the brotherly covenant,

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ صُورَ المُتَكَرَّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ أمَسَكُوا كَثِيرِينَ لِيَبِيعُوهُمْ كَعَبِيدٍ لِأدُومَ، وَلَمْ يَحتَرِمُوا عَهدَ الأُخُوَّةِ الَّذِي قَطَعُوهُ.

10 A nd I have sent a fire against the wall of Tyre, And it hath consumed her palaces.

وَلِذَلِكَ سَأُرسِلُ ناراً عَلَى سُورِ صُورَ، لِتَلْتَهِمَ قُصُورَها بِالكامِلِ.» عِقابُ الأدُومِيِّين

11 T hus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of his pursuing with a sword his brother, And he hath destroyed his mercies, And tear perpetually doth his anger, And his wrath -- he hath kept it for ever,

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ أدُومَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ. طارَدَ أدُومُ أخاهُ بِالسَّيفِ، وَلَمْ يُظهِرْ رَحْمَةً لَهُ. لَمْ يَضَعْ حَدّاً لِغَضَبِهِ كَحَيَوانٍ يُمَزِّقُ فَرِيسَتَهُ، وَاحْتَفَظَ بِحِقْدِهِ دائِماً.

12 A nd I have sent a fire against Teman, And it hath consumed palaces of Bozrah.

لِذَلِكَ سَأُرْسِلُ ناراً عَلَى مَدِينَةِ تَيمانَ، لِتَلْتَهِمَ قُصُورَ بُصْرَةَ بِالكامِلِ.» عِقابُ العَمُّونِيِّين

13 T hus said Jehovah: For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, And for four, I do not reverse it, Because of their ripping up the pregnant ones of Gilead, To enlarge their border,

هَذا هُوَ ما يَقُولُهُ اللهُ: «بِسَبَبِ ذُنُوبِ شَعبِ عَمُّونَ المُتَكَرِّرَةِ وَالمُتَضاعِفَةِ، سَأُعاقِبُهُمْ، لأنَّهُمْ فَتَحُوا بُطُونَ الحَوامِلِ فِي جِلْعادَ لِيُوَسِّعُوا أرْضَهُمْ.

14 A nd I have kindled a fire against the wall of Rabbah, And it hath consumed her palaces, With a shout in a day of battle, With a whirlwind in a day of hurricane,

لِذَلِكَ سَأُشعِلُ ناراً فِي سُورِ مَدِينَةِ رَبَّةَ، لِتَلْتَهِمَ قُصُورَها بِالكامِلِ. وَذَلِكَ وَسَطَ صَيحاتِ يَومِ المَعرَكَةِ، كَالرِّيحِ فِي يَوْمِ العاصِفَةِ.

15 A nd gone hath their king in a removal, He and his heads together, said Jehovah!

حِينَئِذٍ، سَيُسبَى مَلِكُهُمْ وَرُؤَساؤُهُ مَعاً.» هَذا هُوَ ما قالَهُ اللهُ.
