1 ` And we turn, and go up the way to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan cometh out to meet us, he and all his people, to battle, Edrei.

»Partimos de allí, y subimos por el camino de Basán, y en Edrey nos salió al encuentro Og, el rey de Basán, para pelear contra nosotros.

2 ` And Jehovah saith unto me, Fear him not, for into thy hand I have given him, and all his people, and his land, and thou hast done to him as thou hast done to Sihon king of the Amorite who is dwelling in Heshbon.

Pero el Señor me dijo: “No le tengas miedo, porque a él y a todo su ejército yo los he puesto en tus manos, lo mismo que a su tierra, para que hagas con él lo que hiciste con Sijón, el rey amorreo que reinaba en Jesbón.”

3 ` And Jehovah our God giveth into our hands also Og king of Bashan, and all his people, and we smite him till there hath not been left to him a remnant;

Y el Señor nuestro Dios nos entregó también a Og rey de Basán, y a todo su ejército, y los derrotamos hasta acabar con todos,

4 a nd we capture all his cities at that time, there hath not been a city which we have not taken from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

y luego nos apoderamos de todas sus ciudades, es decir, las sesenta ciudades de la tierra de Argob, que eran del reino de Og en Basán. No quedó una sola ciudad que no conquistáramos.

5 A ll these cities fenced with high walls, two-leaved doors and bar, apart from cities of villages very many;

Todas ellas eran ciudades fortificadas y de altas murallas, con portones y cerrojos, sin contar otras muchas ciudades sin murallas.

6 a nd we devote them, as we have done to Sihon king of Heshbon, devoting every city, men, the women, and the infants;

Las destruimos, como lo hicimos con Sijón, el rey de Jesbón. En todas las ciudades matamos a hombres, mujeres y niños,

7 a nd all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we have spoiled for ourselves.

y nos apoderamos de todo el ganado y de los despojos de las ciudades.

8 ` And we take, at that time, the land out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorite, which is beyond the Jordan, from the brook Arnon unto mount Hermon;

»En aquel tiempo conquistamos la tierra que va del arroyo de Arnón hasta el monte Hermón, en la ribera oriental del Jordán, la cual estaba en manos de esos dos reyes amorreos

9 ( Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion; and the Amorites call it Senir,)

(al monte Hermón, los sidonios lo llaman Sirión, y los amorreos, Senir),

10 a ll the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan,

más todas las ciudades de la llanura, y todo Galaad y todo Basán, hasta Salca y Edrey, ciudades del reino de Og en Basán.

11 f or only Og king of Bashan had been left of the remnant of the Rephaim; lo, his bedstead a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the sons of Ammon? nine cubits its length, and four cubits its breadth, by the cubit of a man.

12 ` And this land we have possessed, at that time; from Aroer, which by the brook Arnon, and the half of mount Gilead, and its cities, I have given to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite;

»El territorio que en aquel tiempo conquistamos, y que va de Aroer, que está junto al arroyo de Arnón, hasta la mitad del monte de Galaad, se la entregué a los rubenitas y a los gaditas, junto con sus ciudades.

13 a nd the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I have given to the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, to all that Bashan, called the land of Rephaim.

El resto de Galaad, y todo Basán, que era del reino de Og, y toda la tierra de Argob, conocida como tierra de gigantes, se lo entregué a la media tribu de Manasés.

14 ` Jair son of Manasseh hath taken all the region of Argob, unto the border of Geshuri, and Maachathi, and calleth them by his own name, Bashan-Havoth-Jair, unto this day.

Yaír hijo de Manasés tomó posesión de toda la tierra de Argob, hasta el límite con Gesur y Macá, y le dio su nombre, Basán-havot-jair, y así se llama hasta el día de hoy.

15 A nd to Machir I have given Gilead.

A Maquir le entregué Galaad,

16 ` And to the Reubenite and to the Gadite I have given from Gilead even unto the brook Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border, even unto Jabbok the brook, the border of the sons of Ammon,

y a los rubenitas y gaditas les entregué Galaad, hasta el arroyo de Arnón. Sus límites eran la mitad del valle, hasta el arroyo de Jaboc, que es el límite de los amonitas;

17 a nd the plain, and the Jordan, and the border, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, the salt sea, under the springs of Pisgah, at the -rising.

el Arabá, con el Jordán como límite, desde Cineret hasta el mar del Arabá, es decir, el Mar Salado, y por el lado oriental, las faldas del monte Pisga.

18 ` And I command you, at that time, saying, Jehovah your God hath given to you this land to possess it; armed ye pass over before your brethren the sons of Israel, all the sons of might.

»En aquel tiempo, yo les di la siguiente orden: “El Señor su Dios les ha dado en propiedad esta tierra. Pero todos ustedes, los aguerridos, deben tomar sus armas y cruzar el río al frente de sus hermanos israelitas.

19 O nly, your wives, and your infants, and your cattle -- I have known that ye have much cattle -- do dwell in your cities which I have given to you,

En las ciudades que les he entregado sólo se quedarán sus mujeres y sus hijos, y también el mucho ganado que yo sé que ustedes tienen.

20 t ill that Jehovah give rest to your brethren like yourselves, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God is giving to them beyond the Jordan, then ye have turned back each to his possession, which I have given to you.

Ninguno de ustedes podrá volver a la tierra que les he entregado hasta que el Señor haya establecido a sus hermanos como a ustedes, y ellos hayan recibido también la tierra que el Señor su Dios les da al otro lado del Jordán.”

21 ` And Jehoshua I have commanded at that time, saying, Thine eyes are seeing all that which Jehovah your God hath done to these two kings -- so doth Jehovah to all the kingdoms whither thou are passing over;

En aquel tiempo también le ordené a Josué: “Tú mismo has visto todo lo que el Señor tu Dios hizo con aquellos dos reyes. Y lo mismo hará el Señor con todos los reinos por los cuales vas a pasar.

22 f ear them not, for Jehovah your God, He is fighting for you.

No les tengan miedo, porque el Señor su Dios es quien pelea por ustedes.” Moisés no entra a Canaán

23 ` And I entreat for grace unto Jehovah, at that time, saying,

»En aquel tiempo, le rogué al Señor en oración:

24 L ord Jehovah, Thou -- Thou hast begun to shew Thy servant Thy greatness, and Thy strong hand; for who a God in the heavens or in earth who doth according to Thy works, and according to Thy might?

“Tú, Señor y Dios, has comenzado a mostrar tu grandeza y tu mano poderosa a este siervo tuyo. Ciertamente, no hay dios en el cielo ni en la tierra que haga las grandes proezas que tú haces.

25 L et me pass over, I pray Thee, and see the good land which beyond the Jordan, this good hill-country, and Lebanon.

Yo te ruego que me concedas cruzar el río y contemplar esa bella tierra que está más allá del Jordán, y ese bello monte, y el Líbano.”

26 ` And Jehovah sheweth himself wroth with me, for your sake, and hath not hearkened unto me, and Jehovah saith unto me, Enough for thee; add not to speak unto Me any more about this thing:

Pero por culpa de ustedes el Señor se había enojado contra mí, y por eso no me escuchó, sino que me dijo: “¡Basta! No me hables más de este asunto.

27 g o up the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with thine eyes -- for thou dost not pass over this Jordan;

Sube a la cumbre del Pisga, y dirige la mirada al norte y al sur, al este y al oeste. Mira con tus propios ojos, porque no cruzarás el Jordán.

28 a nd charge Jehoshua, and strengthen him, and harden him, for he doth pass over before this people, and he doth cause them to inherit the land which thou seest.

Manda a Josué, y anímalo y fortalécelo. Será él quien lo cruzará al frente de este pueblo, y será él quien les dé posesión de la tierra que ahora verás.”

29 ` And we dwell in a valley over-against Beth-Peor.

»Y nos detuvimos en el valle, delante de Bet Pegor.
