1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

El Señor habló con Moisés, y le dijo:

2 ` Command the sons of Israel, and they send out of the camp every leper, and every one with an issue, and every one defiled by a body;

«Ordena a los hijos de Israel que arrojen del campamento a todos los leprosos, a todos los que padezcan de flujo de semen y a todos los que se hayan contaminado por haber tocado un muerto.

3 f rom male unto female ye do send out; unto the outside of the camp ye do send them; and they defile not their camps in the midst of which I do tabernacle.'

Que arrojen a hombres y mujeres. Que los saquen del campamento, en el cual habito, para que no lo contaminen.»

4 A nd the sons of Israel do so, and they send them out unto the outside of the camp; as Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses so have the sons of Israel done.

Los hijos de Israel lo hicieron así, y los echaron fuera del campamento, tal y como el Señor se lo había ordenado a Moisés. Ley para la restitución

5 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

El Señor habló con Moisés, y le dijo:

6 ` Speak unto the sons of Israel, Man or woman, when they do any of the sins of man, by committing a trespass against Jehovah, and that person guilty,

«Di a los hijos de Israel que el hombre o la mujer que cometa alguno de todos los pecados con que se suele pecar contra mí,

7 a nd they have confessed their sin which they have done, then he hath restored his guilt in its principal, and its fifth is adding to it, and hath given to him in reference to whom he hath been guilty.

deberá confesar el pecado cometido y compensar a la persona afectada por el daño, añadiendo a la compensación una quinta parte.

8 ` And if the man have no redeemer to restore the guilt to, the guilt which is restored Jehovah's, the priest's, apart from the ram of the atonements, whereby he maketh atonement for him.

Si la persona afectada no tiene ningún pariente al que pueda resarcirse por el daño causado, la compensación por el agravio se me entregará a mí por medio del sacerdote, además del carnero de la expiación, con el cual el sacerdote hará expiación por él.»

9 ` And every heave-offering of all the holy things of the sons of Israel, which they bring near to the priest, becometh his;

Toda ofrenda que los hijos de Israel consagren para el Señor y la presenten al sacerdote, será del sacerdote.

10 a nd any man's hallowed things become his; that which any man giveth to the priest becometh his.'

Lo que cada quien consagre será suyo; lo que cada quien entregue al sacerdote, será del sacerdote. Ley acerca de los celos

11 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

El Señor habló con Moisés, y le dijo:

12 ` Speak unto the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When any man's wife turneth aside, and hath committed against him a trespass,

«Habla con los hijos de Israel y diles que si la mujer de alguien se descarría y le es infiel,

13 a nd a man hath lain with her the seed of copulation, and it hath been hid from the eyes of her husband, and concealed, and she hath been defiled, and there is no witness against her, and she hath not been caught,

y alguien cohabita secretamente con ella, pero su marido no se da cuenta, y ella no es sorprendida en el acto ni hay testigos contra ella,

14 a nd a spirit of jealousy hath passed over him, and he hath been jealous of his wife, and she hath been defiled; -- or, a spirit of jealousy hath passed over him, and he hath been jealous of his wife, and she hath not been defiled --

entonces, si al marido le sobreviene un ataque de celos contra su mujer por haberse ella mancillado, o el ataque de celos le sobreviene aunque su mujer no se haya mancillado,

15 ` Then hath the man brought in his wife unto the priest, and he hath brought in her offering for her, a tenth of the ephah of barley meal, he doth not pour on it oil, nor doth he put on it frankincense, for it a present of jealousy, a present of memorial, causing remembrance of iniquity.

éste llevará a su mujer ante el sacerdote, junto con una ofrenda que ella presentará, más dos litros de harina de cebada. No debe derramar aceite sobre ella, ni tampoco ponerle incienso encima, porque se trata de una ofrenda de celos; es una ofrenda memorial, para tener presente el pecado.

16 ` And the priest hath brought her near, and hath caused her to stand before Jehovah,

»El sacerdote hará entonces que ella se acerque y se presente ante mí.

17 a nd the priest hath taken holy water in an earthen vessel, and of the dust which is on the floor of the tabernacle doth the priest take, and hath put into the water,

Luego el sacerdote pondrá agua santa en un vaso de barro, tomará un poco del polvo que haya en el suelo del tabernáculo, y lo echará en el agua.

18 a nd the priest hath caused the woman to stand before Jehovah, and hath uncovered the woman's head, and hath given into her hands the present of the memorial, it a present of jealousy, and in the hand of the priest are the bitter waters which cause the curse.

Hará entonces que la mujer se ponga de pie delante de mí, le descubrirá la cabeza, y pondrá sobre las manos de ella la ofrenda memorial, es decir, la ofrenda por los celos, mientras él sostiene en la mano las aguas amargas que acarrean maldición.

19 ` And the priest hath caused her to swear, and hath said unto the woman, If no man hath lain with thee, and if thou hast not turned aside uncleanness under thy husband, be free from these bitter waters which cause the curse;

A continuación, el sacerdote la conjurará y le dirá: “Si ninguno ha dormido contigo, si no te has descarriado de tu marido ni te has mancillado, quedarás libre de estas aguas amargas que acarrean maldición.

20 a nd thou, if thou hast turned aside under thy husband, and if thou hast been defiled, and any man doth give his copulation to thee besides thy husband --

”Pero si te has descarriado de tu marido y te has amancillado, y alguien que no es tu marido ha cohabitado contigo

21 ( then the priest hath caused the woman to swear with an oath of execration, and the priest hath said to the woman) -- Jehovah doth give thee for an execration, and for a curse, in the midst of thy people, in Jehovah's giving thy thigh to fall, and thy belly to swell,

(aquí el sacerdote conjurará a la mujer bajo juramento de maldición, y le dirá), ¡Que el Señor te haga objeto de maldición y execración en medio de tu pueblo!, ¡Que el Señor haga que el muslo se te caiga y que el vientre se te hinche!

22 a nd these waters which cause the curse have gone into thy bowels, to cause the belly to swell, and the thigh to fall; and the woman hath said, Amen, Amen.

¡Que estas aguas que acarrean maldición penetren en tus entrañas, y hagan que el vientre se te hinche y que el muslo se te caiga!” Y la mujer deberá responder: “¡Amén, amén!”

23 ` And the priest hath written these execrations in a book, and hath blotted out with the bitter waters,

»Entonces el sacerdote escribirá estas maldiciones en un libro y las borrará con las aguas amargas;

24 a nd hath caused the woman to drink the bitter waters which cause the curse, and the waters which cause the curse have entered into her for bitter things.

luego hará que la mujer beba las aguas amargas que acarrean maldición, y esas aguas penetrarán en ella y la amargarán.

25 ` And the priest hath taken out of the hand of the woman the present of jealousy, and hath waved the present before Jehovah, and hath brought it near unto the altar;

Después el sacerdote recibirá de manos de la mujer la ofrenda por los celos, la mecerá delante de mí, y la ofrecerá ante el altar.

26 a nd the priest hath taken a handful of the present, its memorial, and hath made perfume on the altar, and afterwards doth cause the woman to drink the water:

Luego tomará el sacerdote un puñado de la ofrenda en memoria de ella, lo quemará sobre el altar, y hará que la mujer beba las aguas.

27 y ea, he hath caused her to drink the water, and it hath come to pass, if she hath been defiled, and doth commit a trespass against her husband, that the waters which cause the curse have gone into her for bitter things, and her belly hath swelled, and her thigh hath fallen, and the woman hath become an execration in the midst of her people.

Sucederá entonces, al beber las aguas, que si ella se ha mancillado y le ha sido infiel a su marido, las aguas que acarrean maldición penetrarán en ella y la amargarán; el vientre se le hinchará y el muslo se le caerá, y ella mujer será objeto de maldición en medio de su pueblo.

28 ` And if the woman hath not been defiled, and is clean, then she hath been acquitted, and hath been sown seed.

Pero si la mujer no se ha mancillado, sino que está limpia de culpa, quedará libre y será fecunda.»

29 ` This the law of jealousies, when a wife turneth aside under her husband, and hath been defiled,

Ésta es la ley de los celos, en caso de que la mujer le sea infiel a su marido y se mancille,

30 o r when a spirit of jealousy passeth over a man, and he hath been jealous of his wife, then he hath caused the woman to stand before Jehovah, and the priest hath done to her all this law,

o en caso de que el marido tenga un ataque de celos, y cele a su mujer. El marido presentará a su mujer delante del Señor, y el sacerdote aplicará en ella toda esta ley.

31 a nd the man hath been acquitted from iniquity, and that woman doth bear her iniquity.'

El hombre quedará libre de culpa, y la mujer pagará por su pecado.
