1 A nd in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Jehovah from the mouth of Jeremiah, hath Jehovah waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causeth an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

Para que se cumpliera lo que el Señor había anunciado por medio de Jeremías, en el primer año del reinado de Ciro de Persia el Señor despertó el espíritu de Ciro para que hiciera pregonar por todo su reino, de palabra y por escrito, lo siguiente:

2 ` Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, God of the heavens, given to me, and He hath laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that in Judah;

«Así dice Ciro, rey de los persas: El Señor, el Dios de los cielos, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra, y me ha ordenado reconstruir el templo de Jerusalén, que está en Judá.

3 w ho among you of all His people? His God is with him, and he doth go up to Jerusalem, that in Judah, and build the house of Jehovah, God of Israel -- He God -- that in Jerusalem.

Si hay entre ustedes alguien que sea de su pueblo, que su Dios lo acompañe, y vuelva a Jerusalén, que está en Judá, para reconstruir el templo del Señor, Dios de Israel, pues sólo él es Dios.

4 ` And every one who is left, of any of the places where he a sojourner, assist him do the men of his place with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, along with a free-will offering for the house of God, that in Jerusalem.'

Todos los que se queden, sea cual sea el lugar donde residan, ayuden a los que se van y denles oro, plata, ganado y cualquier otro apoyo que puedan darles, además de las ofrendas voluntarias para el templo del Señor, que está en Jerusalén.» El regreso a Jerusalén

5 A nd heads of the fathers of Judah and Benjamin rise, and the priests and the Levites, even every one whose spirit God hath waked, to go up to build the house of Jehovah, that in Jerusalem;

Los patriarcas de las familias de Judá y de Benjamín, los sacerdotes y los levitas, y todos aquellos en quienes Dios despertó en ellos el deseo de reconstruir el templo del Señor, se prepararon para ir a Jerusalén.

6 a nd all those round about them have strengthened with their hands, with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, apart from all that hath been offered willingly.

Los que vivían en los alrededores les ayudaron con oro, plata, bienes y objetos de valor, y ganado, además de toda clase de ofrendas voluntarias.

7 A nd the king Cyrus hath brought out the vessels of the house of Jehovah that Nebuchadnezzar hath brought out of Jerusalem, and putteth them in the house of his gods;

Además, el rey Ciro ordenó sacar los utensilios que habían estado en el templo del Señor, y que Nabucodonosor había sacado de Jerusalén para ponerlos en los templos de sus dioses.

8 y ea, Cyrus king of Persia bringeth them out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbereth them to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah.

Mitríades, tesorero del rey Ciro de Persia, hizo lo que el rey le mandó, y entregó uno por uno los utensilios a Sesbasar, jefe de Judá.

9 A nd this their number: dishes of gold thirty, dishes of silver a thousand, knives nine and twenty,

Ésta es la relación de lo entregado: Treinta tazones de oro, mil tazones de plata, veintinueve cuchillos,

10 b asins of gold thirty, basins of silver (seconds) four hundred and ten, other vessels a thousand.

treinta tazas de oro, cuatrocientas diez tazas de plata, mil utensilios varios,

11 A ll the vessels of gold and of silver five thousand and four hundred; the whole hath Sheshbazzar brought up with the going up of the removal from Babylon to Jerusalem.

cinco mil cuatrocientos utensilios de oro y de plata. Todo esto lo llevó Sesbasar a Jerusalén con los que se fueron y que antes habían estado cautivos en Babilonia.
