1 A nd at Solomon's finishing to pray, then the fire hath come down from the heavens, and consumeth the burnt-offering and the sacrifices, and the honour of Jehovah hath filled the house,

Cuando Salomón terminó de orar, de los cielos descendió fuego y consumió el holocausto y las víctimas, y la gloria del Señor llenó el templo.

2 a nd the priests have not been able to go in unto the house of Jehovah, because the honour of Jehovah hath filled the house of Jehovah.

Los sacerdotes no podían entrar en el templo del Señor, porque su gloria había llenado el templo.

3 A nd all the sons of Israel are looking on the descending of the fire, and the honour of Jehovah on the house, and they bow -- faces to the earth -- on the pavement, and do obeisance, and give thanks to Jehovah, for good, for to the age His kindness.

Y cuando todos los israelitas vieron descender sobre el templo el fuego y la gloria del Señor, se postraron rostro a tierra en el suelo, y adoraron y alabaron al Señor. Decían: «¡Ciertamente, el Señor es bueno, y su misericordia es eterna!»

4 A nd the king and all the people are sacrificing a sacrifice before Jehovah,

El rey Salomón y todo el pueblo sacrificaron víctimas delante del Señor.

5 a nd king Solomon sacrificeth the sacrifice of the herd, twenty and two thousand, and of the flock, a hundred and twenty thousand, and the king and all the people dedicate the house of God.

El rey ofreció en sacrificio veintidós mil bueyes y ciento veinte mil ovejas, y así el rey y todo el pueblo dedicaron el templo de Dios.

6 A nd the priests over their charges are standing, and the Levites with instruments of the song of Jehovah -- that David the king made, to give thanks to Jehovah, for to the age His kindness, in David's praising by their hand -- and the priests are blowing trumpets over-against them, and all Israel are standing.

Los sacerdotes y los levitas desempeñaban su ministerio con los instrumentos musicales que el rey David había hecho para alabar al Señor, y que tocaba cuando alababa con ellos al Señor, porque su misericordia es eterna. También los sacerdotes tocaban trompetas delante de ellos, mientras todo Israel estaba de pie.

7 A nd Solomon sanctifieth the middle of the court that before the house of Jehovah, for he hath made there the burnt-offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings: for the altar of brass that Solomon made hath not been able to contain the burnt-offering, and the present, and the fat.

Salomón consagró también la parte central del atrio que estaba delante del templo del Señor, porque allí había ofrecido los holocaustos y la grasa de las ofrendas de paz, pues en el altar de bronce que Salomón había hecho no cabían los holocaustos, ni las ofrendas ni las grasas.

8 A nd solomon maketh the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him -- a very great assembly -- from the entering in of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt.

Durante siete días Salomón hizo fiesta, y con él todo Israel. La congregación era tan grande que iba desde la entrada de Jamat hasta el arroyo de Egipto.

9 A nd they make on the eighth day a restraint, because the dedication of the altar they have made seven days, and the feast seven days.

Al octavo día celebraron una asamblea solemne, pues durante siete días habían celebrado la dedicación del altar, y durante siete días más habían celebrado la fiesta solemne.

10 A nd on the twenty and third day of the seventh month he hath sent the people to their tents, rejoicing, and glad in heart, for the goodness that Jehovah hath done to David, and to Solomon, and to Israel His people.

El día veintitrés del mes séptimo Salomón envió al pueblo a sus hogares. Iban con el corazón alegre y gozoso por los beneficios que el Señor había hecho a David y a Salomón, y a su pueblo Israel. Pacto de Dios con Salomón

11 A nd Solomon finisheth the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king; and all that hath come on the heart of Solomon to do in the house of Jehovah, and in his own house, he hath caused to prosper.

Salomón terminó de construir el templo del Señor y el palacio real, y todo lo que se propuso hacer en el templo del Señor y en su propia casa resultó un éxito.

12 A nd Jehovah appeareth unto Solomon by night, and saith to him, `I have heard thy prayer, and have fixed on this place to Me for a house of sacrifice.

Entonces, una noche el Señor se le apareció a Salomón y le dijo: «He escuchado tu oración, y he elegido este templo como el lugar en que se ofrecerán sacrificios.

13 I f I restrain the heavens and there is no rain, and if I lay charge on the locust to consume the land, and if I send pestilence among My people --

Si yo llego a cerrar los cielos para que no haya lluvia, y si mando a la langosta a consumir la tierra, o si envío peste contra mi pueblo,

14 a nd My people on whom My name is called be humbled, and pray, and seek My face, and turn back from their evil ways, then I -- I hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land.

si mi pueblo, sobre el cual se invoca mi nombre, se humilla y ora, y busca mi rostro, y se aparta de sus malos caminos, yo lo escucharé desde los cielos, perdonaré sus pecados y sanaré su tierra.

15 ` Now, Mine eyes are open, and Mine ears attentive, to the prayer of this place;

»Mis ojos van a estar abiertos, y mis oídos van a estar atentos a la oración que se haga en este lugar.

16 a nd now, I have chosen and sanctified this house for My name being there unto the age; yea, Mine eyes and My heart have been there all the days.

Yo he elegido y santificado esta casa, para que en ella esté mi nombre siempre. Mis ojos y mi corazón estarán aquí siempre.

17 ` And thou, if thou dost walk before Me as David thy father walked, even to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and My statutes and My judgments dost keep --

Y si tú te conduces delante de mí como se condujo David, tu padre, y si haces todo lo que yo te he mandado hacer, y cumples con mis estatutos y mis decretos,

18 t hen I have established the throne of thy kingdom, as I covenanted with David thy father, saying, There is not cut off a man to thee -- a ruler in Israel;

yo afirmaré el trono de tu reino, como lo acordé con David, tu padre, cuando le dije: “Nunca te faltará un descendiente tuyo que gobierne en Israel.”

19 a nd if ye turn back -- ye -- and have forsaken My statutes, and My commands, that I have placed before you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them -- then I have plucked them from off My ground that I have given to them,

»Pero si ustedes se apartan de los estatutos y mandamientos que les he propuesto, y los abandonan por ir y adorar a dioses ajenos,

20 a nd this house that I have sanctified for My name, I cast from before My face, and make it for a proverb, and for a byword, among all the peoples.

yo los arrancaré de la tierra que les he entregado; y este templo, que he consagrado a la honra de mi nombre, lo arrojaré de mi presencia y haré de él la burla y el escarnio de todos los pueblos.

21 ` And this house that hath been high, to every one passing by it, is an astonishment, and he hath said, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus to this land, and to this house?

Esta casa, ahora tan excelsa, horrorizará a todo el que pase por ella. Y se dirá: “¿Por qué ha tratado así el Señor a esta tierra y a este templo?”

22 a nd they have said, Because that they have forsaken Jehovah, God of their fathers, who brought them out from the land of Egypt, and lay hold on other gods, and bow themselves to them, and serve them, therefore He hath brought upon them all this evil.'

Y se responderá: “Porque dejaron al Señor, al Dios de sus padres, que los sacó de Egipto, y se han entregado a dioses ajenos, para adorarlos y servirles. ¡Por eso el Señor les ha traído todo este mal.”»
