1 ` One wounded, bruised, or cut in the member doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah;

»No entrará en la congregación del Señor el que tenga los testículos magullados, ni el que tenga amputado su miembro viril.

2 a bastard doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah; even a tenth generation of him doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah.

»No entrará en la congregación del Señor ningún hijo de matrimonio mixto, ni siquiera hasta la décima generación.

3 ` An Ammonite and a Moabite doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah; even a tenth generation of them doth not enter into the assembly of Jehovah -- to the age;

»No entrará jamás en la congregación del Señor ningún amonita ni moabita, ni siquiera hasta la décima generación,

4 b ecause that they have not come before you with bread and with water in the way, in your coming out from Egypt, and because he hath hired against thee Balaam son of Beor, of Pethor of Aram-Naharaim, to revile thee;

porque cuando ustedes salieron de Egipto ellos no salieron al camino para recibirlos a ustedes con pan y agua, y porque contrataron a Balaam hijo de Beor, el de Petor en Mesopotamia, para que los maldijera.

5 a nd Jehovah thy God hath not been willing to hearken unto Balaam, and Jehovah thy God doth turn for thee the reviling to a blessing, because Jehovah thy God hath loved thee;

Pero el Señor tu Dios no quiso oír a Balaam sino que, por el amor que el Señor tu Dios te tiene, convirtió la maldición contra ti en bendición.

6 t hou dost not seek their peace and their good all thy days -- to the age.

Así que nunca jamás procurarás su paz ni su bien.

7 ` Thou dost not abominate an Edomite, for thy brother he; thou dost not abominate an Egyptian, for a sojourner thou hast been in his land;

»No aborrezcas a los edomitas, porque son tus hermanos. »No aborrezcas a los egipcios, porque tú fuiste extranjero en su tierra.

8 s ons who are begotten of them, a third generation of them, doth enter into the assembly of Jehovah.

»La tercera generación de los hijos que ellos tengan podrán entrar en la congregación del Señor. Leyes sanitarias

9 ` When a camp goeth out against thine enemies, then thou hast kept from every evil thing.

»Cuando salgas a campaña contra tus enemigos, te cuidarás de no incurrir en nada malo.

10 ` When there is in thee a man who is not clean, from an accident at night -- then he hath gone out unto the outside of the camp -- he doth not come in unto the midst of the camp --

»Si hay en medio de ti alguien que no esté limpio por causa de alguna impureza ocurrida durante la noche, tendrá que salir del campamento y no podrá entrar en él.

11 a nd it hath been, at the turning of the evening, he doth bathe with water, and at the going in of the sun he doth come in unto the midst of the camp.

Al caer la noche se lavará con agua, y en cuanto se ponga el sol podrá entrar en el campamento.

12 ` And a station thou hast at the outside of the camp, and thou hast gone out thither without,

»Aparta un lugar fuera del campamento, al cual puedas salir.

13 a nd a nail thou hast on thy staff, and it hath been, in thy sitting without, that thou hast digged with it, and turned back, and covered thy filth;

Entre tu equipo debes llevar también una estaca para que, cuando vayas a ese lugar apartado, hagas un hoyo allí y puedas cubrir tu excremento antes de volver.

14 f or Jehovah thy God is walking up and down in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give thine enemies before thee, and thy camp hath been holy, and He doth not see in thee the nakedness of anything, and hath turned back from after thee.

Toma en cuenta que el Señor tu Dios anda en medio de tu campamento para librarte y para poner en tus manos a tus enemigos; por lo tanto, tu campamento tiene que ser un lugar santo; de lo contrario, si él ve en ti alguna inmundicia, dejará de acompañarte. Leyes humanitarias

15 ` Thou dost not shut up a servant unto his lord, who is delivered unto thee from his lord;

»Si algún esclavo anda huyendo, no se lo devuelvas a su amo.

16 w ith thee he doth dwell, in thy midst, in the place which he chooseth within one of thy gates, where it is pleasing to him; thou dost not oppress him.

Pero tampoco lo oprimas. Déjalo vivir entre tu gente, en alguna de tus ciudades que él escoja y en la que él quiera quedarse.

17 ` There is not a whore among the daughters of Israel, nor is there a whoremonger among the sons of Israel;

»Entre las hijas de Israel no debe haber rameras. »Entre los hijos de Israel no debe haber sodomitas.

18 t hou dost not bring a gift of a whore, or a price of a dog, into the house of Jehovah thy God, for any vow; for the abomination of Jehovah thy God even both of them.

»No lleves a la casa del Señor tu Dios la paga de una ramera, ni el precio de un perro, para cumplir con un voto. Tanto lo uno como lo otro son cosas que le repugnan al Señor tu Dios.

19 ` Thou dost not lend in usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of food, usury of anything which is lent on usury.

»No impongas intereses a tu hermano por el dinero, o comestibles, o cualquier otra cosa que le prestes, y por lo que se acostumbra cobrar interés.

20 T o a stranger thou mayest lend in usury, and to thy brother thou dost not lend in usury, so that Jehovah thy God doth bless thee in every putting forth of thy hand on the land whither thou goest in to possess it.

Para que el Señor tu Dios te bendiga en todo lo que hagas en la tierra de la que vas a tomar posesión, podrás cobrarle intereses al extraño, pero no a tu hermano.

21 ` When thou vowest a vow to Jehovah thy God, thou dost not delay to complete it; for Jehovah thy God doth certainly require it from thee, and it hath been in thee -- sin.

»Cuando hagas un voto al Señor tu Dios, no tardes en cumplirlo, porque ciertamente el Señor tu Dios te exigirá que lo cumplas, y cometerás un pecado si no lo cumples.

22 ` And when thou forbearest to vow, it is not in thee a sin.

Aunque no cometerás ningún pecado si te abstienes de prometer,

23 T he produce of thy lips thou dost keep, and hast done, as thou hast vowed to Jehovah thy God; a free-will-offering, which thou hast spoken with thy mouth.

toda promesa que salga de tus labios deberás cumplirla. Tal y como lo prometiste al Señor tu Dios, cumplirás con la ofrenda voluntaria que hiciste con tu propia boca.

24 ` When thou comest in unto the vineyard of thy neighbour, then thou hast eaten grapes, according to thy desire, thy sufficiency; but into thy vessel thou dost not put.

»Si entras en la viña de tu prójimo, podrás comer uvas hasta saciarte, pero no podrás llenar tu cesto.

25 W hen thou comest in among the standing-corn of thy neighbour, then thou hast plucked the ears with thy hand, but a sickle thou dost not wave over the standing-corn of thy neighbour.

»Si entras en el trigal de tu prójimo, podrás arrancar espigas con la mano, pero no podrás meter la hoz para segar las espigas de tu prójimo.
