1 T o the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. Jehovah, in Thy strength is the king joyful, In Thy salvation how greatly he rejoiceth.

Señor, el rey se alegra por tu poder; grande es su gozo por tu salvación.

2 T he desire of his heart Thou gavest to him, And the request of his lips Thou hast not withheld. Selah.

Le has concedido los deseos de su corazón; le has concedido todas sus peticiones.

3 F or Thou puttest before him blessings of goodness, Thou settest on his head a crown of fine gold.

Lo has recibido con grandes bendiciones; lo has coronado con fina corona de oro.

4 L ife he hath asked from Thee, Thou hast given to him -- length of days, Age-during -- and for ever.

Te pidió muchos años de vida, y tú se los concediste.

5 G reat his honour in Thy salvation, Honour and majesty Thou placest on him.

Le concediste además honra y grandeza; por eso él se gloría en tu salvación.

6 F or Thou makest him blessings for ever, Thou dost cause him to rejoice with joy, By Thy countenance.

Lo has bendecido para siempre; con tu presencia lo has llenado de alegría.

7 F or the king is trusting in Jehovah, And in the kindness of the Most High He is not moved.

El rey confía en ti, Señor; confía en tu misericordia, Dios Altísimo; ¡por eso nunca será derrocado!

8 T hy hand cometh to all Thine enemies, Thy right hand doth find Thy haters.

Su mano derribará a todos sus enemigos; su diestra destruirá a quienes lo aborrecen.

9 T hou makest them as a furnace of fire, At the time of Thy presence. Jehovah in His anger doth swallow them, And fire doth devour them.

Cuando tú, Señor, te manifiestes, los convertirás en un horno encendido; en tu enojo los harás pedazos, y con tu fuego acabarás con ellos.

10 T heir fruit from earth Thou destroyest, And their seed from the sons of men.

Borrarás de la tierra a sus descendientes, y ninguno de ellos quedará con vida.

11 F or they stretched out against Thee evil, They devised a wicked device, they prevail not,

Ellos tramaron hacerte daño; maquinaron insidias, pero no prevalecerán.

12 F or Thou makest them a butt, When Thy strings Thou preparest against their faces.

Tú los pondrás en retirada cuando dispares contra ellos tus flechas.

13 B e Thou exalted, O Jehovah in, Thy strength, We sing and we praise Thy might!

¡Enaltece, Señor, tu gran poder, y celebraremos con salmos tu victoria!
