1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

El Señor hablo con Moisés, y le dijo:

2 ` Speak unto all the company of the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, Ye are holy, for holy I, Jehovah, your God.

«Habla con toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, y diles: »Ustedes deben ser santos porque yo, el Señor su Dios, soy santo.

3 ` Each his mother and his father ye do fear, and My sabbaths ye do keep; I Jehovah your God.

»Cada uno de ustedes debe respetar a su madre y a su padre, y respetar también mis días de reposo. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

4 ` Ye do not turn unto the idols, and a molten god ye do not make to yourselves; I Jehovah your God.

»No vayan en pos de los ídolos, ni hagan para ustedes dioses de fundición. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

5 ` And when ye sacrifice a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Jehovah, at your pleasure ye do sacrifice it;

»Cuando ustedes me ofrezcan como sacrificio una ofrenda de paz, ofrézcanlo de tal manera que yo lo acepte.

6 i n the day of your sacrificing it is eaten, and on the morrow, and that which is left unto the third day with fire is burnt,

Lo sacrificado deberán comerlo el día que lo ofrezcan, y el día siguiente; si algo queda para el tercer día, deberán quemarlo,

7 a nd if it be really eaten on the third day, it an abomination, it is not pleasing,

pues comerlo al día tercero es una abominación y no lo aceptaré.

8 a nd he who is eating it his iniquity doth bear, for the holy thing of Jehovah he hath polluted, and that person hath been cut off from his people.

Quien coma eso cargará con su maldad por haber profanado lo que se consagró al Señor, y será eliminado de su pueblo.

9 ` And in your reaping the harvest of your land ye do not completely reap the corner of thy field, and the gleaning of thy harvest thou dost not gather,

»Cuando coseches tu trigo, no siegues hasta el último rincón de tu campo, ni espigues la parte segada.

10 a nd thy vineyard thou dost not glean, even the omitted part of thy vineyard thou dost not gather, to the poor and to the sojourner thou dost leave them; I Jehovah your God.

No rebusques tu viña, ni recojas las uvas que se te caigan; déjalas para los pobres y los extranjeros. Yo soy el Señor tu Dios.

11 ` Ye do not steal, nor feign, nor lie one against his fellow.

»No hurtes. »No engañes. »No se mientan el uno al otro.

12 ` And ye do not swear by My name to falsehood, or thou hast polluted the name of thy God; I Jehovah.

»No juren falsamente en mi nombre, ni profanen así mi nombre. Yo soy el Señor, su Dios.

13 ` Thou dost not oppress thy neighbour, nor take plunder; the wages of the hireling doth not remain with thee till morning.

»No oprimas a tu prójimo. No le robes. »No retengas en tu casa, hasta el día siguiente, el salario del jornalero.

14 ` Thou dost not revile the deaf; and before the blind thou dost not put a stumbling block; and thou hast been afraid of thy God; I Jehovah.

»No maldigas al sordo, ni pongas tropiezo delante del ciego. Más bien, debes tener temor de mí. Yo soy el Señor tu Dios.

15 ` Ye do not do perversity in judgment; thou dost not lift up the face of the poor, nor honour the face of the great; in righteousness thou dost judge thy fellow.

»No seas injusto en el juicio. »No favorezcas al pobre ni complazcas al poderoso. »Trata a tu prójimo con justicia.

16 ` Thou dost not go slandering among thy people; thou dost not stand against the blood of thy neighbour; I Jehovah.

»No propagues chismes entre tu pueblo. »No atentes contra la vida de tu prójimo. Yo soy el Señor.

17 ` Thou dost not hate thy brother in thy heart; thou dost certainly reprove thy fellow, and not suffer sin on him.

»No abrigues en tu corazón odio contra tu hermano. »Razona con tu prójimo, para que no te hagas cómplice de su pecado.

18 ` Thou dost not take vengeance, nor watch the sons of thy people; and thou hast had love to thy neighbour as thyself; I Jehovah.

»No te vengues, ni guardes rencor contra los hijos de tu pueblo. »Ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo. Yo soy el Señor.

19 ` My statutes ye do keep: thy cattle thou dost not cause to gender diverse kinds; thy field thou dost not sow with diverse kinds, and a garment of diverse kinds, shaatnez, doth not go up upon thee.

»Cumple con mis estatutos. »No cruces tu ganado con animales de otra especie. »No siembres en tu campo semillas mezcladas. »No te pongas vestidos con hilos mezclados.

20 ` And when a man lieth with a woman with seed of copulation, and she a maid-servant, betrothed to a man, and not really ransomed, or freedom hath not been given to her, an investigation there is; they are not put to death, for she not free.

»Si alguien se acuesta con una esclava que ya esté desposada, pero que no haya sido rescatada ni haya recibido la libertad, ninguno de los dos morirá, porque ella no es libre, pero los dos serán azotados.

21 ` And he hath brought in his guilt-offering to Jehovah, unto the opening of the tent of meeting, a ram a guilt-offering,

En expiación por su culpa, el hombre presentará un carnero al Señor, y lo llevará a la entrada del tabernáculo de reunión.

22 a nd the priest hath made atonement for him with the ram of the guilt-offering before Jehovah, for his sin which he hath sinned, and it hath been forgiven him because of his sin which he hath sinned.

Con el carnero de la expiación el sacerdote lo reconciliará delante del Señor por el pecado cometido, y su pecado se le perdonará.

23 ` And when ye come in unto the land, and have planted all of trees food, then ye have reckoned as uncircumcised its fruit, three years it is to you uncircumcised, it is not eaten,

»Cuando ustedes entren en la tierra y planten toda clase de árboles frutales, considerarán impuros los frutos de los primeros tres años. No deben comer sus frutos.

24 a nd in the fourth year all its fruit is holy -- praises for Jehovah.

Todos los frutos del cuarto año los consagrarán al Señor entre cantos de alabanza,

25 A nd in the fifth year ye do eat its fruit -- to add to you its increase; I Jehovah your God.

y al quinto año ya podrán comer de sus frutos, pues yo haré que éstos aumenten. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

26 ` Ye do not eat with the blood; ye do not enchant, nor observe clouds.

»No coman nada con sangre. »No se dediquen a hacer predicciones ni adivinaciones.

27 ` Ye do not round the corner of your head, nor destroy the corner of thy beard.

»No se hagan tonsuras en la cabeza, ni se corten la punta de la barba.

28 ` And a cutting for the soul ye do not put in your flesh; and a writing, a cross-mark, ye do not put on you; I Jehovah.

»No se hagan cortes ni marcas en el cuerpo por causa de un muerto. Yo soy el Señor.

29 ` Thou dost not pollute thy daughter to cause her to go a-whoring, that the land go not a-whoring, and the land hath been full of wickedness.

»No ofendas a tu hija obligándola a prostituirse, para que la tierra no se prostituya y se llene de maldad.

30 ` My sabbaths ye do keep, and My sanctuary ye do reverence; I Jehovah.

»Respeten mis días de reposo, y tengan mi santuario en reverencia. Yo soy el Señor.

31 ` Ye do not turn unto those having familiar spirits; and unto wizards ye do not seek, for uncleanness by them; I Jehovah your God.

»No recurran a los encantadores ni a los adivinos. No los consulten ni se contaminen con ellos. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

32 ` At the presence of grey hairs thou dost rise up, and thou hast honoured the presence of an old man, and hast been afraid of thy God; I Jehovah.

»Levántate delante de las canas. Muestra respeto ante los ancianos. Muestra temor ante tu Dios. Yo soy el Señor.

33 ` And when a sojourner sojourneth with thee in your land, thou dost not oppress him;

»No opriman a los extranjeros que habiten entre ustedes.

34 a s a native among you is the sojourner to you who is sojourning with you, and thou hast had love to him as to thyself, for sojourners ye have been in the land of Egypt; I Jehovah your God.

Trátenlos como si fueran sus compatriotas, y ámenlos como a ustedes mismos, porque también ustedes fueron extranjeros en Egipto. Yo soy el Señor su Dios.

35 ` Ye do not do perversity in judgment, in mete-yard, in weight, or in liquid measure;

»No sean injustos en el juicio, ni hagan trampa al medir terrenos, o al pesar o medir algo.

36 r ighteous balances, righteous weights, a righteous ephah, and a righteous hin ye have; I Jehovah your God, who hath brought you out from the land of Egypt;

Usen balanzas, pesas y medidas justas. Yo soy el Señor su Dios, que los sacó de la tierra de Egipto.

37 a nd ye have observed all my statutes, and all my judgments, and have done them; I Jehovah.'

»Cumplan con todos mis estatutos y con todas mis ordenanzas, y pónganlos en práctica. Yo soy el Señor.»
