1 A nd a great sign was seen in the heaven, a woman arrayed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars,

Pudo entonces verse una gran señal en el cielo: Apareció una mujer cuyo vestido era el sol. La luna estaba debajo de sus pies, y en su cabeza llevaba una corona con doce estrellas.

2 a nd being with child she doth cry out, travailing and pained to bring forth.

Estaba encinta, y gritaba por los dolores de parto y por la angustia del alumbramiento.

3 A nd there was seen another sign in the heaven, and, lo, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his head seven diadems,

También pudo verse en el cielo otra señal: Apareció un gran dragón rojo, con siete cabezas y diez cuernos, y con una diadema en cada cabeza.

4 a nd his tail doth draw the third of the stars of the heaven, and he did cast them to the earth; and the dragon did stand before the woman who is about to bring forth, that when she may bring forth, her child he may devour;

Con su cola arrastró a la tercera parte de las estrellas del cielo, y las arrojó sobre la tierra. Luego el dragón se colocó frente a la mujer que iba a dar a luz, para devorar a su hijo en cuanto naciera.

5 a nd she brought forth a male child, who is about to rule all the nations with a rod of iron, and caught away was her child unto God and His throne,

La mujer dio a luz un hijo varón, el cual gobernará a todas las naciones con cetro de hierro. Pero su hijo le fue arrebatado para Dios y su trono.

6 a nd the woman did flee to the wilderness, where she hath a place made ready from God, that there they may nourish her -- days a thousand, two hundred, sixty.

La mujer huyó entonces al desierto, a un lugar que Dios le había preparado, para que allí la alimentaran durante mil doscientos sesenta días.

7 A nd there came war in the heaven; Michael and his messengers did war against the dragon, and the dragon did war, and his messengers,

Después hubo una batalla en el cielo: Miguel y sus ángeles lucharon contra el dragón, y el dragón y sus ángeles también lucharon,

8 a nd they did not prevail, nor was their place found any more in the heaven;

pero no pudieron vencer, y ya no hubo lugar para ellos en el cielo.

9 a nd the great dragon was cast forth -- the old serpent, who is called `Devil,' and `the Adversary,' who is leading astray the whole world -- he was cast forth to the earth, and his messengers were cast forth with him.

Así fue expulsado el gran dragón, que es la serpiente antigua que se llama Diablo y Satanás, y que engaña a todo el mundo. Él y sus ángeles fueron arrojados a la tierra.

10 A nd I heard a great voice saying in the heaven, `Now did come the salvation, and the power, and the reign, of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because cast down was the accuser of our brethren, who is accusing them before our God day and night;

Entonces oí una fuerte voz en el cielo, que decía: «¡Aquí están ya la salvación y el poder y el reino de nuestro Dios, y la autoridad de su Cristo! ¡Ya ha sido expulsado el que día y noche acusaba a nuestros hermanos delante de nuestro Dios!

11 a nd they did overcome him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life -- unto death;

Ellos lo vencieron por la sangre del Cordero y por la palabra que ellos proclamaron; siempre estuvieron preparados a entregar sus vidas y morir.

12 b ecause of this be glad, ye heavens, and those in them who do tabernacle; wo to those inhabiting the land and the sea, because the Devil did go down unto you, having great wrath, having known that he hath little time.'

¡Alégrense por eso, ustedes los cielos! ¡Alégrense ustedes, que los habitan! ¡Pero ay de ustedes, los que habitan la tierra y el mar! El diablo ha llegado a ustedes lleno de ira, porque sabe que le queda poco tiempo.»

13 A nd when the dragon saw that he was cast forth to the earth, he pursued the woman who did bring forth the male,

Cuando el dragón se dio cuenta de que había sido arrojado a la tierra, persiguió a la mujer que había dado a luz al hijo varón.

14 a nd there were given to the woman two wings of the great eagle, that she may fly to the wilderness, to her place, where she is nourished a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent;

Pero a la mujer se le dieron las dos alas de la gran águila para que volara a su lugar en el desierto, donde es alimentada por un tiempo, y tiempos, y la mitad de un tiempo, para estar a salvo de la serpiente.

15 a nd the serpent did cast forth after the woman, out of his mouth, water as a river, that he may cause her to be carried away by the river,

Entonces la serpiente arrojó mucha agua por la boca, para que la mujer fuera arrastrada como por un río.

16 a nd the land did help the woman, and the land did open its mouth and did swallow up the river, that the dragon did cast forth out of his mouth;

Pero la tierra vino en su ayuda, pues abrió su boca y se tragó el río que el dragón había arrojado por su boca.

17 a nd the dragon was angry against the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, those keeping the commands of God, and having the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Entonces el dragón se llenó de ira contra la mujer y se fue a luchar contra el resto de sus descendientes, es decir, contra los que obedecen los mandamientos de Dios y tienen el testimonio de Jesucristo.
