1 ` And we turn, and go up the way to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan cometh out to meet us, he and all his people, to battle, Edrei.

2 ` And Jehovah saith unto me, Fear him not, for into thy hand I have given him, and all his people, and his land, and thou hast done to him as thou hast done to Sihon king of the Amorite who is dwelling in Heshbon.

O Senhor me disse: ‘Não tenha medo dele, pois eu o entreguei em suas mãos, com todo o seu exército, e dei-lhe também a terra dele. Você fará com ele como fez com Seom, rei dos amorreus, que habitava em Hesbom'.

3 ` And Jehovah our God giveth into our hands also Og king of Bashan, and all his people, and we smite him till there hath not been left to him a remnant;

“Então o Senhor, o nosso Deus, também entregou em nossas mãos Ogue, rei de Basã, e todo o seu exército. Nós os derrotamos, sem deixar nenhum sobrevivente.

4 a nd we capture all his cities at that time, there hath not been a city which we have not taken from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

Naquela ocasião conquistamos todas as suas cidades. Não houve cidade que não tomássemos. Foram sessenta em toda a região de Argobe, o reino de Ogue, em Basã.

5 A ll these cities fenced with high walls, two-leaved doors and bar, apart from cities of villages very many;

Todas elas eram fortificadas com muros altos, portas e trancas. Além delas havia muitas cidades sem muros.

6 a nd we devote them, as we have done to Sihon king of Heshbon, devoting every city, men, the women, and the infants;

Nós as destruímos completamente, tal como havíamos feito com Seom, rei de Hesbom, destruindo todas as cidades, matando também os homens, as mulheres e as crianças.

7 a nd all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we have spoiled for ourselves.

8 ` And we take, at that time, the land out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorite, which is beyond the Jordan, from the brook Arnon unto mount Hermon;

“Foi assim que, naquela ocasião, tomamos desses dois reis amorreus o território a leste do Jordão, que vai desde o ribeiro do Arnom até o monte Hermom.

9 ( Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion; and the Amorites call it Senir,)

(Os sidônios chamam o Hermom de Siriom; os amorreus o chamam Senir.)

10 a ll the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan,

Conquistamos todas as cidades do planalto, toda a Gileade, e também toda a Basã, até Salcá e Edrei, cidades do reino de Ogue, em Basã.

O restante de Gileade e também toda a Basã, o reino de Ogue, dei-o à metade da tribo de Manassés. (Toda a região de Argobe em Basã era conhecida no passado como a terra dos refains.

14 ` Jair son of Manasseh hath taken all the region of Argob, unto the border of Geshuri, and Maachathi, and calleth them by his own name, Bashan-Havoth-Jair, unto this day.

Jair, um descendente de Manassés, conquistou toda a região de Argobe até a fronteira dos gesuritas e dos maacatitas; essa região recebeu o seu nome, de modo que até hoje Basã é chamada povoados de Jair.)

15 A nd to Machir I have given Gilead.

16 ` And to the Reubenite and to the Gadite I have given from Gilead even unto the brook Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border, even unto Jabbok the brook, the border of the sons of Ammon,

17 a nd the plain, and the Jordan, and the border, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, the salt sea, under the springs of Pisgah, at the -rising.

Dei-lhes também a Arabá, tendo como fronteira ocidental o Jordão, desde Quinerete até o mar da Arabá, que é o mar Salgado, abaixo das encostas do Pisga.

18 ` And I command you, at that time, saying, Jehovah your God hath given to you this land to possess it; armed ye pass over before your brethren the sons of Israel, all the sons of might.

“Naquela ocasião eu lhes ordenei o seguinte: O Senhor, o Deus de vocês, deu-lhes esta terra para que dela tomem posse. Todos os guerreiros devem marchar à frente dos seus irmãos israelitas, armados para a guerra!

19 O nly, your wives, and your infants, and your cattle -- I have known that ye have much cattle -- do dwell in your cities which I have given to you,

Deixem nas cidades que lhes dei as mulheres, as crianças e os grandes rebanhos, que eu sei que vocês possuem,

20 t ill that Jehovah give rest to your brethren like yourselves, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God is giving to them beyond the Jordan, then ye have turned back each to his possession, which I have given to you.

até que o Senhor conceda descanso aos seus outros irmãos israelitas como deu a vocês, e tomem eles posse da terra que o Senhor, o Deus de vocês, está dando a eles do outro lado do Jordão. Depois vocês poderão retornar, cada um à propriedade que lhe dei.

21 ` And Jehoshua I have commanded at that time, saying, Thine eyes are seeing all that which Jehovah your God hath done to these two kings -- so doth Jehovah to all the kingdoms whither thou are passing over;

“Naquela ocasião também ordenei a Josué: Você viu com os seus próprios olhos tudo o que o Senhor, o Deus de vocês, fez com estes dois reis. Assim o Senhor fará com todos os reinos pelos quais vocês terão que passar.

22 f ear them not, for Jehovah your God, He is fighting for you.

Não tenham medo deles. O Senhor, o seu Deus, é quem lutará por vocês. Moisés É Impedido de Entrar em Canaã

23 ` And I entreat for grace unto Jehovah, at that time, saying,

“Naquela ocasião implorei ao Senhor:

24 L ord Jehovah, Thou -- Thou hast begun to shew Thy servant Thy greatness, and Thy strong hand; for who a God in the heavens or in earth who doth according to Thy works, and according to Thy might?

Ó Soberano Senhor, tu começaste a mostrar ao teu servo a tua grandeza e a tua mão poderosa! Que Deus existe no céu ou na terra que possa realizar as tuas obras e os teus feitos poderosos?

25 L et me pass over, I pray Thee, and see the good land which beyond the Jordan, this good hill-country, and Lebanon.

Deixa-me atravessar, eu te suplico, e ver a boa terra do outro lado do Jordão, a bela região montanhosa e o Líbano!

26 ` And Jehovah sheweth himself wroth with me, for your sake, and hath not hearkened unto me, and Jehovah saith unto me, Enough for thee; add not to speak unto Me any more about this thing:

“Todavia, por causa de vocês, o Senhor irou-se contra mim e não quis me atender. ‘Basta!’, ele disse. ‘Não me fale mais sobre isso.

27 g o up the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with thine eyes -- for thou dost not pass over this Jordan;

Suba ao ponto mais alto do Pisga e olhe para o norte, para o sul, para o leste, e para o oeste. Veja a terra com os seus próprios olhos, pois você não atravessará o Jordão.

28 a nd charge Jehoshua, and strengthen him, and harden him, for he doth pass over before this people, and he doth cause them to inherit the land which thou seest.

Portanto, dê ordens a Josué, fortaleça-o e encoraje-o; porque será ele que atravessará à frente deste povo, e lhes repartirá por herança a terra que você apenas verá.’

29 ` And we dwell in a valley over-against Beth-Peor.

“Então ficamos acampados no vale, diante de Bete-Peor.
