1 H ezekiah hath reigned -- a son of twenty and five years, and twenty and nine years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Abijah daughter of Zechariah;

Ezequias tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou vinte e nove anos em Jerusalém. O nome de sua mãe era Abia, filha de Zacarias.

2 a nd he doth that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that David his father did.

Ele fez o que o Senhor aprova, tal como tinha feito Davi, seu predecessor.

3 H e, in the first year of his reign, in the first month, hath opened the doors of the house of Jehovah, and strengtheneth them,

No primeiro mês do primeiro ano de seu reinado, ele reabriu as portas do templo do Senhor e as consertou.

4 a nd bringeth in the priests and the Levites, and gathereth them to the broad place to the east.

Convocou os sacerdotes e os levitas, reuniu-os na praça que fica no lado leste

5 A nd he saith to them, `Hear me, O Levites, now, sanctify yourselves, and sanctify the house of Jehovah, God of your fathers, and bring out the impurity from the sanctuary,

e disse: “Escutem-me, levitas! Consagrem-se agora e consagrem o templo do Senhor, o Deus dos seus antepassados. Retirem tudo o que é impuro do santuário.

6 f or our fathers have trespassed, and done that which is evil in the eyes of Jehovah our God, and forsake him, and turn round their faces from the tabernacle of Jehovah, and give the neck.

Nossos pais foram infiéis; fizeram o que o Senhor, o nosso Deus, reprova e o abandonaram. Desviaram o rosto do local da habitação do Senhor e deram-lhe as costas.

7 ` Also -- they have shut the doors of the porch, and quench the lamps, and perfume they have not made, and burnt-offering have not caused to ascend in the sanctuary to the God of Israel,

Também fecharam as portas do pórtico e apagaram as lâmpadas. Não queimaram incenso nem apresentaram holocausto no santuário para o Deus de Israel.

8 a nd the wrath of Jehovah is on Judah and Jerusalem, and He giveth them for a trembling, for an astonishment, and for a hissing, as ye are seeing with your eyes.

Por isso a ira do Senhor caiu sobre Judá e sobre Jerusalém; e ele fez deles objeto de espanto, horror e zombaria, conforme vocês podem ver com os seus próprios olhos.

9 A nd lo, fallen have our fathers by the sword, and our sons, and our daughters, and our wives in captivity for this.

Por isso os nossos pais caíram à espada e os nossos filhos, as nossas filhas e as nossas mulheres foram levados como prisioneiros.

10 ` Now -- with my heart -- to make a covenant before Jehovah, God of Israel, and the fierceness of His anger doth turn back from us.

Pretendo, pois, agora fazer uma aliança com o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, para que o fogo da sua ira se afaste de nós.

11 M y sons, be not now at rest, for on you hath Jehovah fixed to stand before Him, to serve Him, and to be to Him ministering and making perfume.'

Meus filhos, não sejam negligentes agora, pois o Senhor os escolheu para estarem diante dele e o servirem, para ministrarem perante ele e queimarem incenso”.

12 A nd the Levites rise -- Mahath son of Amasai, and Joel son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathite; and of the sons of Merari: Kish son of Abdi, and Azariah son of Jehalelel; and of the Gershonite: Joah son of Zimmah, and Eden son of Joah;

Então estes levitas puseram-se a trabalhar: dentre os descendentes de Coate: Maate, filho de Amasai, e Joel, filho de Azarias; dentre os descendentes de Merari: Quis, filho de Abdi, e Azarias, filho de Jealelel; dentre os descendentes de Gérson: Joá, filho de Zima, e Éden, filho de Joá;

13 a nd of the sons of Elizaphan: Shimri, and Jeiel; and of the sons of Asaph: Zechariah and Mattaniah;

dentre os descendentes de Elisafã: Sinri e Jeuel; dentre os descendentes de Asafe: Zacarias e Matanias;

14 a nd of the sons of Heman: Jehiel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun: Shemaiah and Uzziel --

dentre os descendentes de Hemã: Jeuel e Simei; dentre os descendentes de Jedutum: Semaías e Uziel.

15 a nd they gather their brethren, and sanctify themselves, and come in, according to the command of the king in the matters of Jehovah, to cleanse the house of Jehovah,

Tendo reunido e consagrado os seus parentes, os levitas foram purificar o templo do Senhor, conforme o rei havia ordenado, em obediência à palavra do Senhor.

16 a nd the priests come in to the inner part of the house of Jehovah to cleanse, and bring out all the uncleanness that they have found in the temple of Jehovah to the court of the house of Jehovah, and the Levites receive, to take out to the brook Kidron without.

Os sacerdotes entraram no santuário do Senhor para purificá-lo e trouxeram para o pátio do templo do Senhor todas as coisas impuras que lá havia, e os levitas as levaram para o vale de Cedrom.

17 A nd they begin on the first of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month they have come to the porch of Jehovah, and they sanctify the house of Jehovah in eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the first month they have finished.

Começaram a consagração no primeiro dia do primeiro mês e no oitavo dia chegaram ao pórtico do Senhor. Durante mais oito dias consagraram o templo do Senhor propriamente dito, terminando tudo no décimo sexto dia.

18 A nd they come in within unto Hezekiah the king, and say, `We have cleansed all the house of Jehovah, and the altar of the burnt-offering, and all its vessels, and the table of the arrangement, and all its vessels,

Depois foram falar com o rei Ezequias e lhe relataram: “Purificamos todo o templo do Senhor, o altar dos holocaustos e a mesa do pão consagrado, ambos com todos os seus utensílios.

19 a nd all the vessels that king Ahaz cast away in his reign -- in his trespass -- we have prepared and sanctified, and lo, they before the altar of Jehovah.'

Preparamos e consagramos todos os utensílios que o rei Acaz, em sua infidelidade, retirou durante o seu reinado. Eles estão em frente do altar do Senhor ”.

20 A nd Hezekiah the king riseth early, and gathereth the heads of the city, and goeth up to the house of Jehovah;

Cedo, na manhã seguinte, o rei Ezequias reuniu os líderes da cidade e, juntos, subiram ao templo do Senhor,

21 a nd they bring in seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven young he-goats, for a sin-offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah; and he saith to sons of Aaron, the priests, to cause to ascend on the altar of Jehovah.

levando sete novilhos, sete carneiros, sete cordeiros e sete bodes como oferta pelo pecado, em favor da realeza, do santuário e de Judá. O rei ordenou que os sacerdotes, descendentes de Arão, sacrificassem os animais no altar do Senhor.

22 A nd they slaughter the oxen, and the priests receive the blood, and sprinkle on the altar; and they slaughter the rams, and sprinkle the blood on the altar; and they slaughter the lambs, and sprinkle the blood on the altar;

Então os sacerdotes abateram os novilhos e aspergiram o sangue sobre o altar; em seguida fizeram o mesmo com os carneiros e com os cordeiros.

23 a nd they bring nigh the he-goats of the sin-offering before the king and the assembly, and they lay their hands upon them;

Depois, os bodes para a oferta pelo pecado foram levados para diante do rei e da assembléia, que impuseram as mãos sobre eles.

24 a nd the priests slaughter them, and make a sin-offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel, for `For all Israel,' said the king, ` the burnt-offering and the sin-offering.'

Os sacerdotes abateram os bodes e apresentaram o sangue sobre o altar como oferta pelo pecado, para fazer propiciação por todo o Israel, pois era em favor de todo o Israel que o rei havia ordenado o holocausto e a oferta pelo pecado.

25 A nd he appointeth the Levites in the house of Jehovah with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, by the command of David, and of Gad, seer of the king, and of Nathan the prophet, for by the hand of Jehovah the command, by the hand of His prophets;

O rei posicionou os levitas no templo do Senhor, com címbalos, liras e harpas, segundo a prescrição de Davi, de Gade, vidente do rei, e do profeta Natã; isso foi ordenado pelo Senhor, por meio de seus profetas.

26 a nd the Levites stand with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

Assim os levitas ficaram em pé, preparados com os instrumentos de Davi, e os sacerdotes com as cornetas.

27 A nd Hezekiah saith to cause the burnt-offering to ascend on the altar; and at the time the burnt-offering began -- began the song of Jehovah, and the trumpets, even by the hands of the instruments of David king of Israel.

Então Ezequias ordenou que sacrificassem o holocausto sobre o altar. Iniciado o sacrifício, começou também o canto em louvor ao Senhor, ao som das cornetas e dos instrumentos de Davi, rei de Israel.

28 A nd all the assembly are doing obeisance, and the singers singing, and the trumpeters blowing; the whole till the completion of the burnt-offering.

Toda a assembléia prostrou-se em adoração, enquanto os músicos cantavam e os corneteiros tocavam, até que terminou o holocausto.

29 A nd at the completion of the offering up bowed have the king and all those found with him, and do obeisance.

Então o rei e todos os presentes ajoelharam-se e adoraram.

30 A nd Hezekiah the king saith, and the princes, to the Levites to give praise to Jehovah in the words of David, and of Asaph the seer, and they praise -- unto joy, and they bow, and do obeisance.

O rei Ezequias e seus oficiais ordenaram aos levitas que louvassem o Senhor com as palavras de Davi e do vidente Asafe. Eles o louvaram com alegria, depois inclinaram suas cabeças e o adoraram.

31 A nd Hezekiah answereth and saith, `Now ye have filled your hand to Jehovah, come nigh, and bring in sacrifices and thank-offerings to the house of Jehovah;' and the assembly bring in sacrifices and thank-offerings, and every willing-hearted one -- burnt-offerings.

Disse então Ezequias: “Agora que vocês se dedicaram ao Senhor, tragam sacrifícios e ofertas de gratidão ao templo do Senhor ”. Assim, a comunidade levou sacrifícios e ofertas de gratidão, e alguns, espontaneamente, levaram também holocaustos.

32 A nd the number of the burnt-offerings that the assembly have brought in, is seventy oxen, a hundred rams, lambs two hundred; for a burnt-offering to Jehovah all these.

Esses holocaustos que a assembléia ofertou ao Senhor foram setenta bois, cem carneiros e duzentos cordeiros.

33 A nd the sanctified things oxen six hundred, and sheep three thousand.

Os animais consagrados como sacrifícios chegaram a seiscentos bois e três mil ovelhas e bodes.

34 O nly, the priests have become few, and have not been able to strip the whole of the burnt-offerings, and their brethren the Levites strengthen them till the completion of the work, and till the priests sanctify themselves, for the Levites more upright of heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

Como os sacerdotes eram muito poucos para tirar a pele de todos os holocaustos, os seus parentes, os levitas, os ajudaram até o fim da tarefa e até que outros sacerdotes se consagrassem, pois os levitas demoraram menos que os sacerdotes para consagrar-se.

35 A nd also, burnt-offerings in abundance, with fat of the peace-offerings, and with oblations for the burnt-offering; and the service of the house of Jehovah is established,

Houve holocaustos em grande quantidade, oferecidos com a gordura das ofertas de comunhão e com as ofertas derramadas que acompanhavam esses holocaustos. Assim foi restabelecido o culto no templo do Senhor.

36 a nd rejoice doth Hezekiah and all the people, because of God's giving preparation to the people, for the thing hath been suddenly.

Ezequias e todo o povo regozijavam-se com o que Deus havia feito por seu povo, e tudo em tão pouco tempo.
