1 A t that time, an affirmation of Jehovah, I am for God to all families of Israel, And they -- they are to Me for a people.

“Naquele tempo”, diz o Senhor, “serei o Deus de todas as famílias de Israel, e eles serão o meu povo.”

2 T hus said Jehovah: Found grace in the wilderness Hath a people remaining from the sword Going to cause it to rest -- Israel.

Assim diz o Senhor: “O povo que escapou da morte achou favor no deserto”. Quando Israel buscava descanso,

3 F rom afar Jehovah hath appeared to me, With love age-during I have loved thee, Therefore I have drawn thee kindness.

o Senhor lhe apareceu no passado, dizendo: “Eu a amei com amor eterno; com amor leal a atrai.

4 A gain do I build thee, And thou hast been built, O virgin of Israel, Again thou puttest on thy tabrets, And hast gone out in the chorus of the playful.

Eu a edificarei mais uma vez, ó virgem, Israel! Você será reconstruída! Mais uma vez você se enfeitará com guizos e sairá dançando com os que se alegram.

5 A gain thou dost plant vineyards In mountains of Samaria, Planters have planted, and made common.

De novo você plantará videiras nas colinas de Samaria; videiras antes profanadas pelos lavradores que as tinham plantado.

6 F or there is a day, Cried have watchmen on mount Ephraim, `Rise, and we go up to Zion, unto Jehovah our God;

Porque vai chegando o dia em que os sentinelas gritarão nas colinas de Efraim: ‘Venham e subamos a Sião, à presença do Senhor, do nosso Deus’”.

7 F or thus said Jehovah: Sing, O ye to Jacob, joy, And cry aloud at the head of the nations, Sound ye, praise ye, and say, Save, O Jehovah, thy people, the remnant of Israel.

Assim diz o Senhor: “Cantem de alegria por causa de Jacó; gritem, exaltando a principal das nações! Proclamem e dêem louvores, dizendo: ‘O Senhor salvou o seu povo, o remanescente de Israel’.

8 L o, I am bringing them in from the north country, And have gathered them from the sides of the earth, Among them blind and lame, Conceiving and travailing one -- together, A great assembly -- they turn back hither.

Vejam, eu os trarei da terra do norte e os reunirei dos confins da terra. Entre eles estarão o cego e o aleijado, mulheres grávidas e em trabalho de parto; uma grande multidão voltará.

9 W ith weeping they come in, And with supplications I bring them, I cause them to go unto streams of waters, In a right way -- they stumble not in it, For I have been to Israel for a father, And Ephraim -- My first-born he.

Voltarão com choro, mas eu os conduzirei em meio a consolações. Eu os conduzirei às correntes de água por um caminho plano, onde não tropeçarão, porque sou pai para Israel e Efraim é o meu filho mais velho.

10 H ear a word of Jehovah, O nations, And declare ye among isles afar off, and say: He who is scattering Israel doth gather him, And hath kept him as a shepherd his flock,

“Ouçam a palavra do Senhor, ó nações, e proclamem nas ilhas distantes: ‘Aquele que dispersou Israel o reunirá e, como pastor, vigiará o seu rebanho’.

11 F or Jehovah hath ransomed Jacob, And redeemed him from a hand stronger than he.

O Senhor resgatou Jacó e o libertou das mãos do que é mais forte do que ele.

12 A nd they have come in, And have sung in the high place of Zion, And flowed unto the goodness of Jehovah, For wheat, and for new wine, and for oil, And for the young of the flock and herd, And their soul hath been as a watered garden, And they add not to grieve any more.

Eles virão e cantarão de alegria nos altos de Sião; ficarão radiantes de alegria pelos muitos bens dados pelo Senhor: o cereal, o vinho novo, o azeite puro, as crias das ovelhas e das vacas. Serão como um jardim bem regado, e não mais se entristecerão.

13 T hen rejoice doth a virgin in a chorus, Both young men and old men -- together, And I have turned their mourning to joy, And have comforted them, And gladdened them above their sorrow,

Então as moças dançarão de alegria, como também os jovens e os velhos. Transformarei o lamento deles em júbilo; eu lhes darei consolo e alegria em vez de tristeza.

14 A nd satisfied the soul of the priests fatness, And My people with My goodness are satisfied, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Satisfarei os sacerdotes com fartura; e o meu povo será saciado pela minha bondade”, declara o Senhor.

15 T hus said Jehovah, A voice in Ramah is heard, wailing, weeping most bitter, Rachel is weeping for her sons, She hath refused to be comforted for her sons, because they are not.

Assim diz o Senhor: “Ouve-se uma voz em Ramá, pranto e amargo choro; é Raquel, que chora por seus filhos e recusa ser consolada, porque os seus filhos já não existem”.

16 T hus said Jehovah: Withhold thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears, For there is a reward for thy work, An affirmation of Jehovah, And they have turned back from the land of the enemy.

Assim diz o Senhor: “Contenha o seu choro e as suas lágrimas, pois o seu sofrimento será recompensado”, declara o Senhor. “Eles voltarão da terra do inimigo.

17 A nd there is hope for thy latter end, An affirmation of Jehovah, And the sons have turned back their border.

Por isso há esperança para o seu futuro”, declara o Senhor. “Seus filhos voltarão para a sua pátria.

18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself, `Thou hast chastised me, And I am chastised, as a heifer not taught, Turn me back, and I turn back, For thou Jehovah my God.

“Ouvi claramente Efraim lamentando-se: ‘Tu me disciplinaste como a um bezerro indomado, e fui disciplinado. Traze-me de volta, e voltarei, porque tu és o Senhor, o meu Deus.

19 F or after my turning back I repented, And after my being instructed I struck on the thigh, I have been ashamed, I have also blushed, For I have borne the reproach of my youth.

De fato, depois de desviar-me, eu me arrependi; depois que entendi, bati no meu peito. Estou envergonhado e humilhado porque trago sobre mim a desgraça da minha juventude’.

20 A precious son is Ephraim to Me? A child of delights? For since My speaking against him, I do thoroughly remember him still, Therefore have My bowels been moved for him, I do greatly love him, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Não é Efraim o meu filho querido? O filho em quem tenho prazer? Cada vez que eu falo sobre Efraim, mais intensamente me lembro dele. Por isso, com ansiedade o tenho em meu coração; tenho por ele grande compaixão”, declara o Senhor.

21 S et up for thee signs, make for thee heaps, Set thy heart to the highway, the way thou wentest, Turn back, O virgin of Israel, Turn back unto these thy cities.

“Coloque marcos e ponha sinais nas estradas, Preste atenção no caminho que você trilhou. Volte, ó virgem, Israel! Volte para as suas cidades.

22 T ill when dost thou withdraw thyself, O backsliding daughter? For Jehovah hath prepared a new thing in the land, Woman doth compass man.

Até quando você vagará, ó filha rebelde? O Senhor criou algo novo nesta terra: uma mulher abraça um guerreiro”.

23 T hus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Still they say this word in the land of Judah, And in its cities, In My turning back their captivity, Jehovah doth bless thee, habitation of righteousness, Mountain of holiness.

Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: “Quando eu os trouxer de volta do cativeiro, o povo de Judá e de suas cidades dirá novamente: ‘O Senhor a abençoe, ó morada justa, ó monte sagrado’.

24 A nd dwelt in Judah have husbandmen, and in all its cities together, And they have journeyed in order.

O povo viverá em Judá e em todas as suas cidades, tanto os lavradores como os que conduzem os rebanhos.

25 F or I have satiated the weary soul, And every grieved soul I have filled.'

Restaurarei o exausto e saciarei o enfraquecido”.

26 O n this I have awaked, and I behold, and my sleep hath been sweet to me.

Então acordei e olhei em redor. Meu sono tinha sido agradável.

27 L o, days are coming, an affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sown the house of Israel, And the house of Judah, With seed of man, and seed of beast.

“Virão dias”, diz o Senhor, “em que semearei na comunidade de Israel e na comunidade de Judá homens e animais.

28 A nd it hath been, as I watched over them to pluck up, And to break down, and to throw down, And to destroy, and to afflict; So do I watch over them to build, and to plant, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Assim como os vigiei para arrancar e despedaçar, para derrubar, destruir e trazer a desgraça, também os vigiarei para edificar e plantar”, declara o Senhor.

29 I n those days they do not say any more: Fathers have eaten unripe fruit, And the sons' teeth are blunted.

“Naqueles dias não se dirá mais: “‘Os pais comeram uvas verdes, e os dentes dos filhos se embotaram’.

30 B ut -- each for his own iniquity doth die, Every man who is eating the unripe fruit, Blunted are his teeth.

“Ao contrário, cada um morrerá por causa do seu próprio pecado. Os dentes de todo aquele que comer uvas verdes se embotarão.

31 L o, days are coming, an affirmation of Jehovah, And I have made with the house of Israel And with the house of Judah a new covenant,

“Estão chegando os dias”, declara o Senhor, “quando farei uma nova aliança com a comunidade de Israel e com a comunidade de Judá.

32 N ot like the covenant that I made with their fathers, In the day of My laying hold on their hand, To bring them out of the land of Egypt, In that they made void My covenant, And I ruled over them -- an affirmation of Jehovah.

Não será como a aliança que fiz com os seus antepassados quando os tomei pela mão para tirá-los do Egito; porque quebraram a minha aliança, apesar de eu ser o Senhor deles ”, diz o Senhor.

33 F or this the covenant that I make, With the house of Israel, after those days, An affirmation of Jehovah, I have given My law in their inward part, And on their heart I do write it, And I have been to them for God, And they are to me for a people.

“Esta é a aliança que farei com a comunidade de Israel depois daqueles dias”, declara o Senhor: “Porei a minha lei no íntimo deles e a escreverei nos seus corações. Serei o Deus deles, e eles serão o meu povo.

34 A nd they do not teach any more Each his neighbour, and each his brother, Saying, Know ye Jehovah, For they all know Me, from their least unto their greatest, An affirmation of Jehovah; For I pardon their iniquity, And of their sin I make mention no more.

Ninguém mais ensinará ao seu próximo nem ao seu irmão, dizendo: ‘Conheça ao Senhor ’, porque todos eles me conhecerão, desde o menor até o maior”, diz o Senhor. “Porque eu lhes perdoarei a maldade e não me lembrarei mais dos seus pecados.”

35 T hus said Jehovah, Who is giving the sun for a light by day, The statutes of moon and stars for a light by night, Quieting the sea when its billows roar, Jehovah of Hosts His name:

Assim diz o Senhor, aquele que designou o sol para brilhar de dia, que decretou que a lua e as estrelas brilhem de noite, que agita o mar para que as suas ondas rujam; o seu nome é o Senhor dos Exércitos:

36 I f these statutes depart from before Me, An affirmation of Jehovah, Even the seed of Israel doth cease From being a nation before Me all the days.

“Somente se esses decretos desaparecerem de diante de mim”, declara o Senhor, “deixarão os descendentes de Israel de ser uma nação diante de mim para sempre”.

37 T hus said Jehovah: If the heavens above be measured, And the foundations of earth below searched, Even I kick against all the seed of Israel, For all that they have done, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Assim diz o Senhor: “Se os céus em cima puderem ser medidos, e os alicerces da terra embaixo puderem ser sondados, então eu rejeitarei os descendentes de Israel, por tudo o que eles têm feito”, diz o Senhor.

38 L o, days, an affirmation of Jehovah, And the city hath been built to Jehovah, From the tower of Hananeel to the gate of the corner.

“Estão chegando os dias”, declara o Senhor, “em que esta cidade será reconstruída para o Senhor, desde a torre de Hananeel até a porta da Esquina.

39 A nd gone out again hath the measuring line Over-against it, unto the height of Gareb, And it hath compassed to Goah.

A corda de medir será estendida diretamente até a colina de Garebe, indo na direção de Goa.

40 A nd all the valley of the carcases and of the ashes, And all the fields unto the brook Kidron, Unto the corner of the horse-gate eastward, holy to Jehovah, it is not plucked up, Nor is it thrown down any more to the age!

Todo o vale, onde cadáveres e cinzas são jogados, e todos os terraços que dão para o vale do Cedrom a leste, até a esquina da porta dos Cavalos, serão consagrados ao Senhor. A cidade nunca mais será arrasada ou destruída.”
