1 I n the year of the death of king Uzziah -- I see the Lord, sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and His train is filling the temple.

No ano em que o rei Uzias morreu, eu vi o Senhor assentado num trono alto e exaltado, e a aba de sua veste enchia o templo.

2 S eraphs are standing above it: six wings hath each one; with two covereth its face, and with two covereth its feet, and with two flieth.

Acima dele estavam serafins; cada um deles tinha seis asas: com duas cobriam o rosto, com duas cobriam os pés e com duas voavam.

3 A nd this one hath called unto that, and hath said: `Holy, Holy, Holy, Jehovah of Hosts, The fulness of all the earth His glory.'

E proclamavam uns aos outros: “Santo, santo, santo é o Senhor dos Exércitos, a terra inteira está cheia da sua glória”.

4 A nd the posts of the thresholds are moved by the voice of him who is calling, and the house is full of smoke.

Ao som das suas vozes os batentes das portas tremeram, e o templo ficou cheio de fumaça.

5 A nd I say, `Wo to me, for I have been silent, For a man -- unclean of lips I, And in midst of a people unclean of lips I am dwelling, Because the King, Jehovah of Hosts, have my eyes seen.'

Então gritei: Ai de mim! Estou perdido! Pois sou um homem de lábios impuros e vivo no meio de um povo de lábios impuros; os meus olhos viram o Rei, o Senhor dos Exércitos!

6 A nd flee unto me doth one of the seraphs, and in his hand a burning coal, (with tongs he hath taken from off the altar,)

Logo um dos serafins voou até mim trazendo uma brasa viva, que havia tirado do altar com uma tenaz.

7 a nd he striketh against my mouth, and saith: `Lo, this hath stricken against thy lips, And turned aside is thine iniquity, And thy sin is covered.'

Com ela tocou a minha boca e disse: “Veja, isto tocou os seus lábios; por isso, a sua culpa será removida, e o seu pecado será perdoado”.

8 A nd I hear the voice of the Lord, saying: `Whom do I send? and who doth go for Us?' And I say, `Here I, send me.'

Então ouvi a voz do Senhor, conclamando: “Quem enviarei? Quem irá por nós?” E eu respondi: Eis-me aqui. Envia-me!

9 A nd He saith, `Go, and thou hast said to this people, Hear ye -- to hear, and ye do not understand, And see ye -- to see, and ye do not know.

Ele disse: “Vá, e diga a este povo: “Estejam sempre ouvindo, mas nunca entendam; estejam sempre vendo, e jamais percebam.

10 D eclare fat the heart of this people, And its ears declare heavy, And its eyes declare dazzled, Lest it see with its eyes, And with its ears hear, and its heart consider, And it hath turned back, and hath health.'

Torne insensível o coração deste povo; torne surdos os seus ouvidos e feche os seus olhos. Que eles não vejam com os olhos, não ouçam com os ouvidos, e não entendam com o coração, para que não se convertam e sejam curados”.

11 A nd I say, `Till when, O Lord?' And He saith, `Surely till cities have been wasted without inhabitant, And houses without man, And the ground be wasted -- a desolation,

Então eu perguntei: Até quando, Senhor? E ele respondeu: “Até que as cidades estejam em ruínas e sem habitantes, até que as casas fiquem abandonadas e os campos estejam totalmente devastados,

12 A nd Jehovah hath put man far off, And great the forsaken part in the heart of the land.

até que o Senhor tenha enviado todos para longe e a terra esteja totalmente desolada.

13 A nd yet in it a tenth, and it hath turned, And hath been for a burning, As a teil-tree, and as an oak, that in falling, Have substance in them, The holy seed its substance!'

E ainda que um décimo fique no país, esses também serão destruídos. Mas, assim como o terebinto e o carvalho deixam o tronco quando são derrubados, assim a santa semente será o seu tronco”.
