1 I n the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, come hath Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his force unto Jerusalem, and they lay siege against it;

Foi assim que Jerusalém foi tomada: no nono ano do reinado de Zedequias, rei de Judá, no décimo mês, Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, marchou contra Jerusalém com todo seu exército e a sitiou.

2 i n the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, in the ninth of the month, hath the city been broken up;

E no nono dia do quarto mês do décimo primeiro ano do reinado de Zedequias, o muro da cidade foi rompido.

3 a nd come in do all the heads of the king of Babylon, and they sit at the middle gate, Nergal-Sharezer, Samgar-Nebo, Sarsechim, chief of the eunuchs, Nergal-Sharezer, chief of the Mages, and all the rest of the heads of the king of Babylon.

Então todos os oficiais do rei da Babilônia vieram e se assentaram junto à porta do Meio: Nergal-Sarezer de Sangar, Nebo-Sarsequim, um dos chefes dos oficiais, Nergal-Sarezer, um alto oficial, e todos os outros oficiais do rei da Babilônia.

4 A nd it cometh to pass, when Zedekiah king of Judah, and all the men of war, have seen them, that they flee and go forth by night from the city, the way of the king's garden, through the gate between the two walls, and he goeth forth the way of the plain.

Quando Zedequias, rei de Judá, e todos os soldados os viram, fugiram e saíram da cidade, à noite, na direção do jardim real, pela porta entre os dois muros; e foram para a Arabá.

5 A nd the forces of the Chaldeans pursue after them, and overtake Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and they take him, and bring him up unto Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, to Riblah, in the land of Hamath, and he speaketh with him -- judgments.

Mas o exército babilônio os perseguiu e alcançou Zedequias na planície de Jericó. Eles o capturaram e o levaram a Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, em Ribla, na terra de Hamate, que o sentenciou.

6 A nd the king of Babylon slaughtereth the sons of Zedekiah, in Riblah, before his eyes, yea, all the freemen of Judah hath the king of Babylon slaughtered.

Em Ribla, o rei da Babilônia mandou executar os filhos de Zedequias diante dos seus olhos, e também matou todos os nobres de Judá.

7 A nd the eyes of Zedekiah he hath blinded, and he bindeth him with brazen fetters, to bring him in to Babylon.

Mandou furar os olhos de Zedequias e prendê-lo com correntes de bronze para levá-lo para a Babilônia.

8 A nd the house of the king, and the house of the people, have the Chaldeans burnt with fire, and the walls of Jerusalem they have broken down.

Os babilônios incendiaram o palácio real e as casas do povo, e derrubaram os muros de Jerusalém.

9 A nd the remnant of the people who are left in the city, and those falling who have fallen to him, and the remnant of the people who are left, hath Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, removed Babylon.

Nebuzaradã, o comandante da guarda imperial, deportou para a Babilônia o povo que restou na cidade, junto com aqueles que tinham se rendido a ele, e o restante dos artesãos.

10 A nd of the poor people, who have nothing, hath Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, left in the land of Judah, and he giveth to them vineyards and fields on the same day.

Somente alguns dos mais pobres do povo, que nada tinham, Nebuzaradã deixou para trás em Judá. E, naquela ocasião, ele lhes deu vinhas e campos.

11 A nd Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon giveth a charge concerning Jeremiah, by the hand of Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, saying,

Mas Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, deu ordens a respeito de Jeremias a Nebuzaradã:

12 ` Take him, and place thine eyes upon him, and do no evil thing to him, but as he speaketh unto thee, so do with him.'

“Vá buscá-lo e cuide bem dele; não o maltrate, mas faça o que ele pedir”.

13 A nd Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners sendeth, and Nebushazban, chief of the eunuchs, and Nergal-Sharezer, chief of the Mages, and all the chiefs of the king of Babylon;

Então Nebuzaradã, o comandante da guarda imperial, Nebusazbã, um dos chefes dos oficiais, Nergal-Sarezer, um alto oficial, e todos os outros oficiais do rei da Babilônia

14 y ea, they send and take Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and give him unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, to carry him home, and he dwelleth in the midst of the people.

mandaram tirar Jeremias do pátio da guarda e o entregaram a Gedalias, filho de Aicam, filho de Safã, para que o levasse à residência do governador. Assim, Jeremias permaneceu no meio do seu povo.

15 A nd unto Jeremiah hath a word of Jehovah been -- in his being detained in the court of the prison -- saying:

Enquanto Jeremias esteve preso no pátio da guarda, o Senhor lhe dirigiu a palavra:

16 ` Go, and thou hast spoken to Ebed-Melech the Cushite, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Lo, I am bringing in My words unto this city for evil, and not for good, and they have been before thee in that day.

“Vá dizer a Ebede-Meleque, o etíope: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: Estou prestes a cumprir as minhas advertências contra esta cidade, com desgraça e não com prosperidade. Naquele dia, elas se cumprirão diante dos seus olhos.

17 A nd I have delivered thee in that day -- an affirmation of Jehovah -- and thou art not given into the hand of the men of whose face thou art afraid,

Mas eu o resgatarei naquele dia”, declara o Senhor; “você não será entregue nas mãos daqueles a quem teme.

18 f or I do certainly deliver thee, and by sword thou fallest not, and thy life hath been to thee for a spoil, for thou hast trusted in Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah.'

Eu certamente o resgatarei; você não morrerá à espada, mas escapará com vida, porque você confia em mim”, declara o Senhor.
