1 T o the Overseer. -- A Psalm, a song of David. Rise doth God -- scattered are His enemies! And those hating Him flee from His face.

Que Deus se levante! Sejam espalhados os seus inimigos, fujam dele os seus adversários.

2 A s the driving away of smoke Thou drivest away, As the melting of wax before fire, The wicked perish at the presence of God.

Que tu os dissipes assim como o vento leva a fumaça; como a cera se derrete na presença do fogo, assim pereçam os ímpios na presença de Deus.

3 A nd the righteous rejoice, they exult before God, And they joy with gladness.

Alegrem-se, porém, os justos! Exultem diante de Deus! Regozijem-se com grande alegria!

4 S ing ye to God -- praise His name, Raise up a highway for Him who is riding in deserts, In Jah His name, and exult before Him.

Cantem a Deus, louvem o seu nome, exaltem aquele que cavalga sobre as nuvens; seu nome é Senhor! Exultem diante dele!

5 F ather of the fatherless, and judge of the widows, God in His holy habitation.

Pai para os órfãos e defensor das viúvas é Deus em sua santa habitação.

6 G od -- causing the lonely to dwell at home, Bringing out bound ones into prosperity, Only -- the refractory have inhabited a dry place.

Deus dá um lar aos solitários, liberta os presos para a prosperidade, mas os rebeldes vivem em terra árida.

7 O God, in Thy going forth before Thy people, In Thy stepping through the wilderness, Selah.

Quando saíste à frente do teu povo, ó Deus, quando marchaste pelo ermo, Pausa

8 T he earth hath shaken, Yea, the heavens have dropped before God, This Sinai -- before God, the God of Israel.

a terra tremeu, o céu derramou chuva diante de Deus, o Deus do Sinai, diante de Deus, o Deus de Israel.

9 A shower of free-will gifts thou shakest out, O God. Thine inheritance, when it hath been weary, Thou hast established it.

Deste chuvas generosas, ó Deus; refrescaste a tua herança exausta.

10 T hy company have dwelt in it, Thou preparest in Thy goodness for the poor, O God.

O teu povo nela se instalou, e da tua bondade, ó Deus, supriste os pobres.

11 T he Lord doth give the saying, The female proclaimers a numerous host.

O Senhor anunciou a palavra, e muitos mensageiros a proclamavam:

12 K ings of hosts flee utterly away, And a female inhabitant of the house apportioneth spoil.

“Reis e exércitos fogem em debandada; a dona de casa reparte os despojos.

13 T hough ye do lie between two boundaries, Wings of a dove covered with silver, And her pinions with yellow gold.

Mesmo quando vocês dormem entre as fogueiras do acampamento, as asas da minha pomba estão recobertas de prata, as suas penas, de ouro reluzente”.

14 W hen the Mighty spreadeth kings in it, It doth snow in Salmon.

Quando o Todo-poderoso espalhou os reis, foi como neve no monte Zalmom.

15 A hill of God the hill of Bashan, A hill of heights the hill of Bashan.

Os montes de Basã são majestosos; escarpados são os montes de Basã.

16 W hy do ye envy, O high hills, The hill God hath desired for His seat? Jehovah also doth tabernacle for ever.

Por que, ó montes escarpados, estão com inveja do monte que Deus escolheu para sua habitação, onde o próprio Senhor habitará para sempre?

17 T he chariots of God myriads, thousands of changes, The Lord among them, in Sinai, in the sanctuary.

Os carros de Deus são incontáveis, são milhares de milhares; neles o Senhor veio do Sinai para o seu Lugar Santo.

18 T hou hast ascended on high, Thou hast taken captive captivity, Thou hast taken gifts for men, That even the refractory may rest, O Jah God.

Quando subiste em triunfo às alturas, ó Senhor Deus, levaste cativos muitos prisioneiros; recebeste homens como dádivas, até mesmo rebeldes, para estabeleceres morada.

19 B lessed the Lord, day by day He layeth on us. God Himself our salvation. Selah.

Bendito seja o Senhor, Deus, nosso Salvador, que cada dia suporta as nossas cargas. Pausa

20 G od Himself to us a God for deliverances, And Jehovah Lord hath the outgoings of death.

O nosso Deus é um Deus que salva; ele é o Soberano, ele é o Senhor que nos livra da morte.

21 O nly -- God doth smite The head of His enemies, The hairy crown of a habitual walker in his guilt.

Certamente Deus esmagará a cabeça dos seus inimigos, o crânio cabeludo dos que persistem em seus pecados.

22 T he Lord said: `From Bashan I bring back, I bring back from the depths of the sea.

“Eu os trarei de Basã”, diz o Senhor, “eu os trarei das profundezas do mar,

23 S o that thou dashest thy foot in blood, enemies -- the tongue of Thy dogs.'

para que você encharque os pés no sangue dos inimigos, sangue do qual a língua dos cães terá a sua porção.”

24 T hey have seen Thy goings, O God, Goings of my God, my king, in the sanctuary.

Já se vê a tua marcha triunfal, ó Deus, a marcha do meu Deus e Rei adentrando o santuário.

25 S ingers have been before, Behind players on instruments, In the midst virgins playing with timbrels.

À frente estão os cantores, depois os músicos; com eles vão as jovens tocando tamborins.

26 I n assemblies bless ye God, The Lord -- from the fountain of Israel.

Bendigam a Deus na grande congregação! Bendigam o Senhor, descendentes de Israel!

27 T here little Benjamin their ruler, Heads of Judah their defence, Heads of Zebulun -- heads of Naphtali.

Ali está a pequena tribo de Benjamim, a conduzi-los, os príncipes de Judá acompanhados de suas tropas, e os príncipes de Zebulom e Naftali.

28 T hy God hath commanded thy strength, Be strong, O God, this Thou hast wrought for us.

A favor de vocês, manifeste Deus o seu poder! Mostra, ó Deus, o poder que já tens operado para conosco.

29 B ecause of Thy temple at Jerusalem, To Thee do kings bring a present.

Por causa do teu templo em Jerusalém, reis te trarão presentes.

30 R ebuke a beast of the reeds, a company of bulls, With calves of the peoples, Each humbling himself with pieces of silver, Scatter Thou peoples delighting in conflicts.

Repreende a fera entre os juncos, a manada de touros entre os bezerros das nações. Humilhados, tragam barras de prata. Espalha as nações que têm prazer na guerra.

31 C ome do fat ones out of Egypt, Cush causeth her hands to run to God.

Ricos tecidos venham do Egito; a Etiópia corra para Deus de mãos cheias.

32 K ingdoms of the earth, sing ye to God, Praise ye the Lord. Selah.

Cantem a Deus, reinos da terra, louvem o Senhor, Pausa

33 T o him who is riding on the heavens of the heavens of old, Lo, He giveth with His voice a strong voice.

aquele que cavalga os céus, os antigos céus. Escutem! Ele troveja com voz poderosa.

34 A scribe ye strength to God, Over Israel His excellency, and His strength in the clouds.

Proclamem o poder de Deus! Sua majestade está sobre Israel, seu poder está nas altas nuvens.

35 F earful, O God, out of Thy sanctuaries, The God of Israel Himself, Giving strength and might to the people. Blessed God!

Tu és temível no teu santuário, ó Deus; é o Deus de Israel que dá poder e força ao seu povo. Bendito seja Deus!
