1 A nd this know thou, that in the last days there shall come perilous times,

Os homens serão egoístas, avarentos, presunçosos, arrogantes, blasfemos, desobedientes aos pais, ingratos, ímpios,

3 w ithout natural affection, implacable, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, not lovers of those who are good,

sem amor pela família, irreconciliáveis, caluniadores, sem domínio próprio, cruéis, inimigos do bem,

4 t raitors, heady, lofty, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God,

traidores, precipitados, soberbos, mais amantes dos prazeres do que amigos de Deus,

5 h aving a form of piety, and its power having denied; and from these be turning away,

tendo aparência de piedade, mas negando o seu poder. Afaste-se desses também.

6 f or of these there are those coming into the houses and leading captive the silly women, laden with sins, led away with desires manifold,

São esses os que se introduzem pelas casas e conquistam mulheres instáveis sobrecarregadas de pecados, as quais se deixam levar por toda espécie de desejos.

7 a lways learning, and never to a knowledge of truth able to come,

Elas estão sempre aprendendo, e jamais conseguem chegar ao conhecimento da verdade.

8 a nd, even as Jannes and Jambres stood against Moses, so also these do stand against the truth, men corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith;

Como Janes e Jambres se opuseram a Moisés, esses também resistem à verdade. A mente deles é depravada; são reprovados na fé.

9 b ut they shall not advance any further, for their folly shall be manifest to all, as theirs also did become.

11 t he persecutions, the afflictions, that befel me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of all the Lord did deliver me,

as perseguições e os sofrimentos que enfrentei, coisas que me aconteceram em Antioquia, Icônio e Listra. Quanta perseguição suportei! Mas, de todas essas coisas o Senhor me livrou!

12 a nd all also who will to live piously in Christ Jesus shall be persecuted,

De fato, todos os que desejam viver piedosamente em Cristo Jesus serão perseguidos.

13 a nd evil men and impostors shall advance to the worse, leading astray and being led astray.

Contudo, os perversos e impostores irão de mal a pior, enganando e sendo enganados.

14 A nd thou -- be remaining in the things which thou didst learn and wast entrusted with, having known from whom thou didst learn,

Quanto a você, porém, permaneça nas coisas que aprendeu e das quais tem convicção, pois você sabe de quem o aprendeu.

15 a nd because from a babe the Holy Writings thou hast known, which are able to make thee wise -- to salvation, through faith that in Christ Jesus;

Porque desde criança você conhece as Sagradas Letras, que são capazes de torná-lo sábio para a salvação mediante a fé em Cristo Jesus.

16 e very Writing God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright, for instruction that in righteousness,

Toda a Escritura é inspirada por Deus e útil para o ensino, para a repreensão, para a correção e para a instrução na justiça,

17 t hat the man of God may be fitted -- for every good work having been completed.

para que o homem de Deus seja apto e plenamente preparado para toda boa obra.
