1 A nd after the ceasing of the tumult, Paul having called near the disciples, and having embraced, went forth to go on to Macedonia;

2 a nd having gone through those parts, and having exhorted them with many words, he came to Greece;

Viajou por aquela região, encorajando os irmãos com muitas palavras e, por fim, chegou à Grécia,

3 h aving made also three months' -- a counsel of the Jews having been against him -- being about to set forth to Syria, there came a resolution of returning through Macedonia.

onde ficou três meses. Quando estava a ponto de embarcar para a Síria, os judeus fizeram uma conspiração contra ele; por isso decidiu voltar pela Macedônia,

4 A nd there were accompanying him unto Asia, Sopater of Berea, and of Thessalonians Aristarchus and Secundus, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus, and of Asiatics Tychicus and Trophimus;

sendo acompanhado por Sópatro, filho de Pirro, de Beréia; Aristarco e Secundo, de Tessalônica; Gaio, de Derbe; e Timóteo, além de Tíquico e Trófimo, da província da Ásia.

5 t hese, having gone before, did remain for us in Troas,

Esses homens foram adiante e nos esperaram em Trôade.

6 a nd we sailed, after the days of the unleavened food, from Philippi, and came unto them to Troas in five days, where we abode seven days.

7 A nd on the first of the week, the disciples having been gathered together to break bread, Paul was discoursing to them, about to depart on the morrow, he was also continuing the discourse till midnight,

No primeiro dia da semana reunimo-nos para partir o pão, e Paulo falou ao povo. Pretendendo partir no dia seguinte, continuou falando até a meia-noite.

8 a nd there were many lamps in the upper chamber where they were gathered together,

Havia muitas candeias no piso superior onde estávamos reunidos.

9 a nd there was sitting a certain youth, by name Eutychus, upon the window -- being borne down by a deep sleep, Paul discoursing long -- he having sunk down from the sleep, fell down from the third story, and was lifted up dead.

Um jovem chamado Êutico, que estava sentado numa janela, adormeceu profundamente durante o longo discurso de Paulo. Vencido pelo sono, caiu do terceiro andar. Quando o levantaram, estava morto.

10 A nd Paul, having gone down, fell upon him, and having embraced, said, `Make no tumult, for his life is in him;'

Paulo desceu, inclinou-se sobre o rapaz e o abraçou, dizendo: “Não fiquem alarmados! Ele está vivo!”

11 a nd having come up, and having broken bread, and having tasted, for a long time also having talked -- till daylight, so he went forth,

Então subiu novamente, partiu o pão e comeu. Depois, continuou a falar até o amanhecer e foi embora.

12 a nd they brought up the lad alive, and were comforted in no ordinary measure.

Levaram vivo o jovem, o que muito os consolou. Paulo Despede-se dos Presbíteros de Éfeso

13 A nd we having gone before unto the ship, did sail to Assos, thence intending to take in Paul, for so he had arranged, intending himself to go on foot;

Quanto a nós, fomos até o navio e embarcamos para Assôs, onde iríamos receber Paulo a bordo. Assim ele tinha determinado, tendo preferido ir a pé.

14 a nd when he met with us at Assos, having taken him up, we came to Mitylene,

Quando nos encontrou em Assôs, nós o recebemos a bordo e prosseguimos até Mitilene.

15 a nd thence having sailed, on the morrow we came over-against Chios, and the next day we arrived at Samos, and having remained in Trogyllium, on the following day we came to Miletus,

No dia seguinte navegamos dali e chegamos defronte de Quio; no outro dia atravessamos para Samos e, um dia depois, chegamos a Mileto.

16 f or Paul decided to sail past Ephesus, that there may not be to him a loss of time in Asia, for he hasted, if it were possible for him, on the day of the Pentecost to be at Jerusalem.

Paulo tinha decidido não aportar em Éfeso, para não se demorar na província da Ásia, pois estava com pressa de chegar a Jerusalém, se possível antes do dia de Pentecoste.

17 A nd from Miletus, having sent to Ephesus, he called for the elders of the assembly,

De Mileto, Paulo mandou chamar os presbíteros da igreja de Éfeso.

18 a nd when they were come unto him, he said to them, `Ye -- ye know from the first day in which I came to Asia, how, with you at all times I was;

Quando chegaram, ele lhes disse: “Vocês sabem como vivi todo o tempo em que estive com vocês, desde o primeiro dia em que cheguei à província da Ásia.

19 s erving the Lord with all humility, and many tears, and temptations, that befell me in the counsels of the Jews against;

Servi ao Senhor com toda a humildade e com lágrimas, sendo severamente provado pelas conspirações dos judeus.

20 h ow nothing I did keep back of what things are profitable, not to declare to you, and to teach you publicly, and in every house,

Vocês sabem que não deixei de pregar-lhes nada que fosse proveitoso, mas ensinei-lhes tudo publicamente e de casa em casa.

21 t estifying fully both to Jews and Greeks, toward God reformation, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Testifiquei, tanto a judeus como a gregos, que eles precisam converter-se a Deus com arrependimento e fé em nosso Senhor Jesus.

22 ` And now, lo, I -- bound in the Spirit -- go on to Jerusalem, the things that shall befall me in it not knowing,

“Agora, compelido pelo Espírito, estou indo para Jerusalém, sem saber o que me acontecerá ali.

23 s ave that the Holy Spirit in every city doth testify fully, saying, that for me bonds and tribulations remain;

Só sei que, em todas as cidades, o Espírito Santo me avisa que prisões e sofrimentos me esperam.

24 b ut I make account of none of these, neither do I count my life precious to myself, so that I finish my course with joy, and the ministration that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify fully the good news of the grace of God.

Todavia, não me importo, nem considero a minha vida de valor algum para mim mesmo, se tão-somente puder terminar a corrida e completar o ministério que o Senhor Jesus me confiou, de testemunhar do evangelho da graça de Deus.

25 ` And now, lo, I have known that no more shall ye see my face, -- ye all among whom I did go preaching the reign of God;

“Agora sei que nenhum de vocês, entre os quais passei pregando o Reino, verá novamente a minha face.

26 w herefore I take you to witness this day, that I clear from the blood of all,

Portanto, eu lhes declaro hoje que estou inocente do sangue de todos.

27 f or I did not keep back from declaring to you all the counsel of God.

Pois não deixei de proclamar-lhes toda a vontade de Deus.

28 ` Take heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit made you overseers, to feed the assembly of God that He acquired through His own blood,

Cuidem de vocês mesmos e de todo o rebanho sobre o qual o Espírito Santo os colocou como bispos, para pastorearem a igreja de Deus, que ele comprou com o seu próprio sangue.

29 f or I have known this, that there shall enter in, after my departing, grievous wolves unto you, not sparing the flock,

Sei que, depois da minha partida, lobos ferozes penetrarão no meio de vocês e não pouparão o rebanho.

30 a nd of your own selves there shall arise men, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

E dentre vocês mesmos se levantarão homens que torcerão a verdade, a fim de atrair os discípulos.

31 ` Therefore, watch, remembering that three years, night and day, I did not cease with tears warning each one;

Por isso, vigiem! Lembrem-se de que durante três anos jamais cessei de advertir cada um de vocês disso, noite e dia, com lágrimas.

32 a nd now, I commend you, brethren, to God, and to the word of His grace, that is able to build up, and to give you an inheritance among all those sanctified.

“Agora, eu os entrego a Deus e à palavra da sua graça, que pode edificá-los e dar-lhes herança entre todos os que são santificados.

33 ` The silver or gold or garments of no one did I covet;

Não cobicei a prata nem o ouro nem as roupas de ninguém.

34 a nd ye yourselves know that to my necessities, and to those who were with me, minister did these hands;

Vocês mesmos sabem que estas minhas mãos supriram minhas necessidades e as de meus companheiros.

35 a ll things I did shew you, that, thus labouring, it behoveth to partake with the ailing, to be mindful also of the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.'

Em tudo o que fiz, mostrei-lhes que mediante trabalho árduo devemos ajudar os fracos, lembrando as palavras do próprio Senhor Jesus, que disse: ‘Há maior felicidade em dar do que em receber’”.

36 A nd these things having said, having bowed his knees, with them all, he did pray,

Tendo dito isso, ajoelhou-se com todos eles e orou.

37 a nd there came a great weeping to all, and having fallen upon the neck of Paul, they were kissing him,

Todos choraram muito e, abraçando-o, o beijavam.

38 s orrowing most of all for the word that he had said -- that they are about no more to see his face; and they were accompanying him to the ship.

O que mais os entristeceu foi a declaração de que nunca mais veriam a sua face. Então o acompanharam até o navio.
