1 H ezekiah hath reigned -- a son of twenty and five years, and twenty and nine years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Abijah daughter of Zechariah;

Ê-xê-chia được hai lăm tuổi khi người lên ngôi làm vua; người cai trị hai mươi chín năm tại Giê-ru-sa-lem; mẹ người tên là A-bi-gia, con gái của Xa-cha-ri.

2 a nd he doth that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that David his father did.

Người làm điều thiện trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va, y theo mọi điều Đa-vít, tổ phụ người, đã làm.

3 H e, in the first year of his reign, in the first month, hath opened the doors of the house of Jehovah, and strengtheneth them,

Tháng giêng năm đầu người trị vì, người mở các cửa đền của Đức Giê-hô-va, và sửa sang lại.

4 a nd bringeth in the priests and the Levites, and gathereth them to the broad place to the east.

Người đòi những thầy tế lễ và người Lê-vi đến, hiệp chúng lại tại nơi phố phía đông,

5 A nd he saith to them, `Hear me, O Levites, now, sanctify yourselves, and sanctify the house of Jehovah, God of your fathers, and bring out the impurity from the sanctuary,

mà bảo rằng: Hỡi người Lê-vi, hãy nghe ta! Bây giờ khá dọn mình ra thánh, và dọn đền của Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời các ngươi cho thánh sạch, cùng cất những điều dơ dáy khỏi nơi đền thánh đi.

6 f or our fathers have trespassed, and done that which is evil in the eyes of Jehovah our God, and forsake him, and turn round their faces from the tabernacle of Jehovah, and give the neck.

Vì các tổ phụ chúng ta đã phạm tội, làm điều ác trước mặt Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời chúng ta, lìa bỏ Ngài, ngảnh mặt khỏi nơi ngự của Đức Giê-hô-va, và xây lưng lại Ngài.

7 ` Also -- they have shut the doors of the porch, and quench the lamps, and perfume they have not made, and burnt-offering have not caused to ascend in the sanctuary to the God of Israel,

Chúng lại đóng các hiên cửa, tắt các đèn, không xông hương và không dâng của lễ thiêu tại nơi thánh cho Đức Giê-hô-va của Y-sơ-ra-ên.

8 a nd the wrath of Jehovah is on Judah and Jerusalem, and He giveth them for a trembling, for an astonishment, and for a hissing, as ye are seeing with your eyes.

Vì vậy cơn thạnh nộ của Đức Giê-hô-va giáng trên Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem, và Ngài phó chúng vào sự khổ sở, sự bại hoại, và sự chê bai, y như các ngươi đã thấy tận mắt mình.

9 A nd lo, fallen have our fathers by the sword, and our sons, and our daughters, and our wives in captivity for this.

Nầy, vì cớ ấy mà các tổ phụ ta bị gươm ngã chết, các con trai, con gái, và vợ ta, phải bị bắt dẫn đi làm phu tù.

10 ` Now -- with my heart -- to make a covenant before Jehovah, God of Israel, and the fierceness of His anger doth turn back from us.

Bây giờ, ta có ý lập giao ước cùng Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên, để cơn thạnh nộ Ngài lìa khỏi chúng ta.

11 M y sons, be not now at rest, for on you hath Jehovah fixed to stand before Him, to serve Him, and to be to Him ministering and making perfume.'

Hỡi các con, chớ trì hưỡn nữa, vì Đức Giê-hô-va có chọn các ngươi làm đầy tớ Ngài, để đứng trước mặt Ngài, hầu việc và xông hương cho Ngài.

12 A nd the Levites rise -- Mahath son of Amasai, and Joel son of Azariah, of the sons of the Kohathite; and of the sons of Merari: Kish son of Abdi, and Azariah son of Jehalelel; and of the Gershonite: Joah son of Zimmah, and Eden son of Joah;

Những người Lê-vi bèn chổi dậy; về dòng Kê-át có Ma-hát, con của A-ma-sai, và Giô-ên, con trai của A-sa-ria; về dòng Mê-ra-ri có Kích, con trai A

13 a nd of the sons of Elizaphan: Shimri, and Jeiel; and of the sons of Asaph: Zechariah and Mattaniah;

về dòng Ê-lít-sa-phan có Sim-ri và Giê -i-ên; về dòng A-sáp có Xa-cha-ri và Ma-tha-nia;

14 a nd of the sons of Heman: Jehiel and Shimei; and of the sons of Jeduthun: Shemaiah and Uzziel --

về dòng Hê-man có Giê-hi-ên và Si-mê -i; về dòng Giê-đu-thun có Sê-ma-gia và U-xi-ên.

15 a nd they gather their brethren, and sanctify themselves, and come in, according to the command of the king in the matters of Jehovah, to cleanse the house of Jehovah,

Chúng hiệp anh em mình lại, dọn mình cho sạch, rồi cứ theo lịnh vua truyền dạy, và lời phán của Đức Giê-hô-va, họ đi vào làm sạch đền của Đức Giê-hô-va.

16 a nd the priests come in to the inner part of the house of Jehovah to cleanse, and bring out all the uncleanness that they have found in the temple of Jehovah to the court of the house of Jehovah, and the Levites receive, to take out to the brook Kidron without.

Những thầy tế lễ đi vào trong đền của Đức Giê-hô-va, đặng dọn nó cho sạch; phàm điều gì dơ dáy thấy ở trong đền của Đức Giê-hô-va, họ lấy liệng ra ngoài ở nơi hành lang của đền; rồi người Lê-vi lấy nó đem quăng ở ngoài tại trong khe Xết-rôn.

17 A nd they begin on the first of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month they have come to the porch of Jehovah, and they sanctify the house of Jehovah in eight days, and on the sixteenth day of the first month they have finished.

Ngày mồng một tháng giêng, chúng khởi việc dọn đền cho sạch; qua ngày mồng tám tháng ấy, chúng đến nơi hiên cửa của Đức Giê-hô-va; trong tám ngày họ dọn đền của Đức Giê-hô-va cho sạch; và qua ngày mười sáu tháng giêng công việc làm xong.

18 A nd they come in within unto Hezekiah the king, and say, `We have cleansed all the house of Jehovah, and the altar of the burnt-offering, and all its vessels, and the table of the arrangement, and all its vessels,

Chúng vào cung vua Ê-xê-chia, mà nói rằng: Chúng tôi đã dọn sạch cả đền Đức Giê-hô-va, bàn thờ của lễ thiêu và các đồ dùng nó, cái bàn sắp bánh trần thiết và các đồ dùng nó;

19 a nd all the vessels that king Ahaz cast away in his reign -- in his trespass -- we have prepared and sanctified, and lo, they before the altar of Jehovah.'

Lại những khí dụng mà vua A-cha quăng bỏ, trong đời người trị vì, lúc người phạm tội, thì chúng tôi đã sắp sửa lại và dọn ra sạch; kìa, nó ở trước mặt bàn thờ của Đức Giê-hô-va.

20 A nd Hezekiah the king riseth early, and gathereth the heads of the city, and goeth up to the house of Jehovah;

Vua Ê-xê-chia dậy sớm, nhóm hiệp các quan trưởng trong thành, và lên đền của Đức Giê-hô-va;

21 a nd they bring in seven bullocks, and seven rams, and seven lambs, and seven young he-goats, for a sin-offering for the kingdom, and for the sanctuary, and for Judah; and he saith to sons of Aaron, the priests, to cause to ascend on the altar of Jehovah.

đem theo bảy con bò đực, bảy con chiên đực, bảy con chiên con, và bảy con dê đực đặng làm của lễ chuộc tội cho nước, cho đền thánh, và cho Giu-đa. Vua biểu những thầy tế lễ, con cháu của A-rôn, dâng các con sinh ấy trên bàn thờ của Đức Giê-hô-va.

22 A nd they slaughter the oxen, and the priests receive the blood, and sprinkle on the altar; and they slaughter the rams, and sprinkle the blood on the altar; and they slaughter the lambs, and sprinkle the blood on the altar;

Chúng bèn giết các con bò đực, thầy tế lễ hứng lấy huyết mà rảy trên bàn thờ; rồi giết các con chiên đực và rảy huyết trên bàn thờ; chúng cũng giết các con chiên con, và rảy huyết trên bàn thờ.

23 a nd they bring nigh the he-goats of the sin-offering before the king and the assembly, and they lay their hands upon them;

Đoạn, chúng đem các con dê đực dùng về của lễ chuộc tội lại gần tại trước mặt vua và hội chúng, đặt tay mình trên chúng nó,

24 a nd the priests slaughter them, and make a sin-offering with their blood on the altar, to make atonement for all Israel, for `For all Israel,' said the king, ` the burnt-offering and the sin-offering.'

rồi, thầy tế lễ giết chúng nó, hứng lấy huyết rảy trên bàn thờ đặng làm lễ chuộc tội cho cả Y-sơ-ra-ên; vì vua có dạy rằng của lễ thiêu và của lễ chuộc tội phải dâng lên vì cả Y-sơ-ra-ên.

25 A nd he appointeth the Levites in the house of Jehovah with cymbals, with psalteries, and with harps, by the command of David, and of Gad, seer of the king, and of Nathan the prophet, for by the hand of Jehovah the command, by the hand of His prophets;

Vua đặt người Lê-vi ở trong đền Đức Giê-hô-va cầm chập chỏa, đờn cầm, đờn sắt, tùy theo lệ định của Đa-vít, của Gát, là đấng tiên kiến của vua, và của tiên tri Na-than; vì lệ định ấy do nơi Đức Giê-hô-va cậy các tiên tri Ngài mà dạy biểu.

26 a nd the Levites stand with the instruments of David, and the priests with the trumpets.

Các người Lê-vi đứng cầm nhạc khí của Đa-vít, còn những thầy tế lễ cầm còi.

27 A nd Hezekiah saith to cause the burnt-offering to ascend on the altar; and at the time the burnt-offering began -- began the song of Jehovah, and the trumpets, even by the hands of the instruments of David king of Israel.

Ê-xê-chia truyền dâng của lễ thiêu, và đương lúc khởi dâng của lễ thiêu, thì khởi hát bài ca khen ngợi Đức Giê-hô-va, có còi thổi và nhạc khí của Đa-vít, vua Y-sơ-ra-ên, họa thêm.

28 A nd all the assembly are doing obeisance, and the singers singing, and the trumpeters blowing; the whole till the completion of the burnt-offering.

Cả hội chúng thờ lạy, người ca hát đều hát, và kẻ thổi kèn đều thổi kèn, cho đến đã xông của lễ thiêu đoạn.

29 A nd at the completion of the offering up bowed have the king and all those found with him, and do obeisance.

Khi dâng của lễ thiêu xong, vua và các người ở với vua bèn cúi xuống thờ lạy.

30 A nd Hezekiah the king saith, and the princes, to the Levites to give praise to Jehovah in the words of David, and of Asaph the seer, and they praise -- unto joy, and they bow, and do obeisance.

Vả lại, vua Ê-xê-chia và các quan trưởng biểu người Lê-vi hát ngợi khen Đức Giê-hô-va bằng lời của Đa-vít và của A-sáp, là đấng tiên kiến; chúng bèn hát ngợi khen cách vui mừng, rồi cúi đầu xuống mà thờ lạy.

31 A nd Hezekiah answereth and saith, `Now ye have filled your hand to Jehovah, come nigh, and bring in sacrifices and thank-offerings to the house of Jehovah;' and the assembly bring in sacrifices and thank-offerings, and every willing-hearted one -- burnt-offerings.

Ê-xê-chia cất tiếng nói rằng: Bây giờ các ngươi đã biệt mình riêng ra thánh cho Đức Giê-hô-va; vậy hãy đến gần, đem những hi sinh và của lễ cảm tạ vào trong đền của Đức Giê-hô-va. Hội chúng bèn dẫn đến những hi sinh và của lễ cảm tạ; còn kẻ nào vui lòng thì đem dâng những của lễ thiêu.

32 A nd the number of the burnt-offerings that the assembly have brought in, is seventy oxen, a hundred rams, lambs two hundred; for a burnt-offering to Jehovah all these.

Số con sinh dùng về của lễ thiêu mà hội chúng đem đến là bảy mươi con bò đực, một trăm con chiên đực, và hai trăm con chiên con; họ dùng các thú đó làm của lễ thiêu cho Đức Giê-hô-va.

33 A nd the sanctified things oxen six hundred, and sheep three thousand.

Cũng biệt riêng ra thánh sáu trăm con bò đực và ba ngàn con trừu.

34 O nly, the priests have become few, and have not been able to strip the whole of the burnt-offerings, and their brethren the Levites strengthen them till the completion of the work, and till the priests sanctify themselves, for the Levites more upright of heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

Song thầy tế lễ chỉ có ít quá, không đủ lột da các con sinh dùng về của lễ thiêu vì vậy anh em họ, là người Lê-vi, bèn giúp đỡ họ cho đến khi xong công việc, và những thầy tế lễ đã dọn mình thánh sạch; vì người Lê-vi có lòng thành dọn mình thánh sạch hơn những thầy tế lễ.

35 A nd also, burnt-offerings in abundance, with fat of the peace-offerings, and with oblations for the burnt-offering; and the service of the house of Jehovah is established,

Lại cũng có nhiều của lễ thiêu, mỡ của lễ thù ân, và lễ quán cặp theo mỗi của lễ thiêu. Vậy, cuộc tế lễ trong đền Đức Giê-hô-va đã lập lại rồi.

36 a nd rejoice doth Hezekiah and all the people, because of God's giving preparation to the people, for the thing hath been suddenly.

Ê-xê-chia và cả dân sự đều vui mừng về điều Đức Chúa Trời đã sắm sửa cho dân sự; bởi công việc ấy thình lình mà làm thành.
