1 B y David. -- An Instruction. O the happiness of him whose transgression forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

¡Cuán bienaventurado es aquél cuya transgresión es perdonada, Cuyo pecado es cubierto!

2 O the happiness of a man, To whom Jehovah imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

¡Cuán bienaventurado es el hombre a quien el Señor no culpa de iniquidad, Y en cuyo espíritu no hay engaño!

3 W hen I have kept silence, become old have my bones, Through my roaring all the day.

Mientras callé mi pecado, mi cuerpo se consumió Con mi gemir durante todo el día.

4 W hen by day and by night Thy hand is heavy upon me, My moisture hath been changed Into the droughts of summer. Selah.

Porque día y noche Tu mano pesaba sobre mí; Mi vitalidad se desvanecía con el calor del verano. (Selah)

5 M y sin I cause Thee to know, And mine iniquity I have not covered. I have said, `I confess concerning My transgressions to Jehovah,' And Thou -- Thou hast taken away, The iniquity of my sin. Selah.

Te manifesté mi pecado, Y no encubrí mi iniquidad. Dije: “Confesaré mis transgresiones al Señor;” Y Tú perdonaste la culpa de mi pecado. (Selah)

6 F or this doth every saintly one pray to Thee, As the time to find. Surely at an overflowing of many waters, Unto him they come not.

Por eso, que todo santo ore a Ti en el tiempo en que puedas ser hallado; Ciertamente, en la inundación de muchas aguas, no llegarán éstas a él.

7 T hou a hiding-place for me, From distress Thou dost keep me, songs of deliverance dost compass me. Selah.

Tú eres mi escondedero; de la angustia me preservarás; Con cánticos de liberación me rodearás. (Selah)

8 I cause thee to act wisely, And direct thee in the way that thou goest, I cause mine eye to take counsel concerning thee.

Yo te haré saber y te enseñaré el camino en que debes andar; Te aconsejaré con Mis ojos puestos en ti.

9 B e ye not as a horse -- as a mule, Without understanding, With bridle and bit, its ornaments, to curb, Not to come near unto thee.

No seas como el caballo o como el mulo, que no tienen entendimiento; Cuyos arreos incluyen brida y freno para sujetarlos, Porque si no, no se acercan a ti.

10 M any the pains of the wicked; As to him who is trusting in Jehovah, Kindness doth compass him.

Muchos son los dolores del impío, Pero al que confía en el Señor, la misericordia lo rodeará.

11 B e glad in Jehovah, and rejoice, ye righteous, And sing, all ye upright of heart!

Alégrense en el Señor y regocíjense, justos; Den voces de júbilo todos ustedes, los rectos de corazón.
