1 A nd Abram is a son of ninety and nine years, and Jehovah appeareth unto Abram, and saith unto him, `I God Almighty, walk habitually before Me, and be thou perfect;

Cuando Abram tenía noventa y nueve años, el Señor se le apareció, y le dijo: “Yo soy el Dios Todopoderoso; Anda delante de Mí, y sé perfecto.

2 a nd I give My covenant between Me and thee, and multiply thee very exceedingly.'

Yo estableceré Mi pacto contigo, Y te multiplicaré en gran manera.”

3 A nd Abram falleth upon his face, and God speaketh with him, saying,

Entonces Abram se postró sobre su rostro y Dios habló con él:

4 ` I -- lo, My covenant with thee, and thou hast become father of a multitude of nations;

“En cuanto a Mí, ahora Mi pacto es contigo, Y serás padre de multitud de naciones.

5 a nd thy name is no more called Abram, but thy name hath been Abraham, for father of a multitude of nations have I made thee;

Y no serás llamado más Abram (Padre Enaltecido); Sino que tu nombre será Abraham (Padre de Multitud); Porque Yo te haré padre de multitud de naciones.

6 a nd I have made thee exceeding fruitful, and made thee become nations, and kings go out from thee.

Te haré fecundo en gran manera, y de ti haré naciones, y de ti saldrán reyes.

7 ` And I have established My covenant between Me and thee, and thy seed after thee, to their generations, for a covenant age-during, to become God to thee, and to thy seed after thee;

“Estableceré Mi pacto contigo y con tu descendencia después de ti, por todas sus generaciones, por pacto eterno, de ser Dios tuyo y de toda tu descendencia después de ti.

8 a nd I have given to thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land of thy sojournings, the whole land of Canaan, for a possession age-during, and I have become their God.'

Y te daré a ti, y a tu descendencia después de ti, la tierra de tus peregrinaciones, toda la tierra de Canaán como posesión perpetua. Y Yo seré su Dios.” La Circuncisión como Señal del Pacto

9 A nd God saith unto Abraham, `And thou dost keep My covenant, thou and thy seed after thee, to their generations;

Dijo además Dios a Abraham: “Tú, pues, guardarás Mi pacto, tú y tu descendencia después de ti, por sus generaciones.

10 t his My covenant which ye keep between Me and you, and thy seed after thee: Every male of you to be circumcised;

Este es Mi pacto con ustedes y tu descendencia después de ti y que ustedes guardarán: Todo varón de entre ustedes será circuncidado.

11 a nd ye have circumcised the flesh of your foreskin, and it hath become a token of a covenant between Me and you.

Serán circuncidados en la carne de su prepucio, y esto será la señal de Mi pacto con ustedes.

12 ` And a son of eight days is circumcised by you; every male to your generations, born in the house, or bought with money from any son of a stranger, who is not of thy seed;

“A la edad de ocho días será circuncidado entre ustedes todo varón por sus generaciones; asimismo el siervo nacido en tu casa, o que sea comprado con dinero a cualquier extranjero, que no sea de tu descendencia.

13 h e is certainly circumcised who born in thine house, or bought with thy money; and My covenant hath become in your flesh a covenant age-during;

Ciertamente ha de ser circuncidado el siervo nacido en tu casa o el comprado con tu dinero. Así estará Mi pacto en la carne de ustedes como pacto perpetuo.

14 a nd an uncircumcised one, a male, the flesh of whose foreskin is not circumcised, even that person hath been cut off from his people; My covenant he hath broken.'

Pero el varón incircunciso, que no es circuncidado en la carne de su prepucio, esa persona será cortada de entre su pueblo. Ha quebrantado Mi pacto.”

15 A nd God saith unto Abraham, `Sarai thy wife -- thou dost not call her name Sarai, for Sarah her name;

Entonces Dios dijo a Abraham: “A Sarai, tu mujer, no la llamarás Sarai, sino que Sara (Princesa) será su nombre.

16 a nd I have blessed her, and have also given to thee a son from her; and I have blessed her, and she hath become nations -- kings of peoples are from her.'

La bendeciré, y de cierto te daré un hijo por medio de ella. La bendeciré y será madre de naciones. Reyes de pueblos vendrán de ella.”

17 A nd Abraham falleth upon his face, and laugheth, and saith in his heart, `To the son of an hundred years is one born? or doth Sarah -- daughter of ninety years -- bear?'

Entonces Abraham se postró sobre su rostro y se rió, y dijo en su corazón: “¿A un hombre de cien años le nacerá un hijo? ¿Y Sara, que tiene noventa años, concebirá ?”

18 A nd Abraham saith unto God, `O that Ishmael may live before Thee;'

Y Abraham dijo a Dios: “¡Ojalá que Ismael viva delante de Ti!”

19 a nd God saith, `Sarah thy wife is certainly bearing a son to thee, and thou hast called his name Isaac, and I have established My covenant with him, for a covenant age-during, to his seed after him.

Pero Dios respondió: “No, sino que Sara, tu mujer, te dará un hijo, y le pondrás el nombre de Isaac; y estableceré Mi pacto con él, pacto perpetuo para su descendencia después de él.

20 A s to Ishmael, I have heard thee; lo, I have blessed him, and made him fruitful, and multiplied him, very exceedingly; twelve princes doth he beget, and I have made him become a great nation;

En cuanto a Ismael, te he oído. Yo lo bendeciré y lo haré fecundo y lo multiplicaré en gran manera. El será el padre de doce príncipes y haré de él una gran nación.

21 a nd My covenant I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah doth bear to thee at this appointed time in the next year;'

Pero Mi pacto lo estableceré con Isaac, el hijo que Sara te dará por este tiempo el año que viene.”

22 a nd He finisheth speaking with him, and God goeth up from Abraham.

Cuando terminó de hablar con él, Dios ascendió dejando a Abraham.

23 A nd Abraham taketh Ishmael his son, and all those born in his house, and all those bought with his money -- every male among the men of Abraham's house -- and circumciseth the flesh of their foreskin, in this self-same day, as God hath spoken with him.

Entonces Abraham tomó a su hijo Ismael y a todos los siervos nacidos en su casa y a todos los que habían sido comprados con su dinero, a todo varón de entre las personas de la casa de Abraham, y aquel mismo día les circuncidó la carne de su prepucio, tal como Dios le había dicho.

24 A nd Abraham a son of ninety and nine years in the flesh of his foreskin being circumcised;

Abraham tenía noventa y nueve años cuando fue circuncidado,

25 a nd Ishmael his son a son of thirteen years in the flesh of his foreskin being circumcised;

y su hijo Ismael tenía trece años cuando fue circuncidado.

26 i n this self-same day hath Abraham been circumcised, and Ishmael his son;

En el mismo día fueron circuncidados Abraham y su hijo Ismael.

27 a nd all the men of his house -- born in the house, and bought with money from the son of a stranger -- have been circumcised with him.

También fueron circuncidados con él todos los varones de su casa, que habían nacido en la casa o que habían sido comprados a extranjeros.
