1 A nd the people of the land take Jehoahaz son of Josiah, and cause him to reign instead of his father in Jerusalem.

Entonces el pueblo de la tierra tomó a Joacaz, hijo de Josías, y lo proclamó rey en Jerusalén en lugar de su padre.

2 A son of three and twenty years Jehoahaz in his reigning, and three months he hath reigned in Jerusalem,

Joacaz tenía veintitrés años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó tres meses en Jerusalén.

3 a nd turn him aside doth the king of Egypt in Jerusalem, and fineth the land a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold;

Pero el rey de Egipto lo destituyó en Jerusalén, e impuso a la tierra una multa de 3. 4 toneladas de plata y 34 kilos de oro.

4 a nd the king of Egypt causeth Eliakim his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem, and turneth his name to Jehoiakim; and Jehoahaz his brother hath Necho taken, and bringeth him in to Egypt.

Y el rey de Egipto puso por rey sobre Judá y Jerusalén, a Eliaquim, hermano de Joacaz, y cambió su nombre por el de Joacim; pero a su hermano Joacaz, lo tomó Necao y lo llevó a Egipto.

5 A son of twenty and five years Jehoiakim in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah his God;

Joacim tenía veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. Pero hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor su Dios.

6 a gainst him hath Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and bindeth him in brazen fetters to take him away to Babylon.

Subió contra él Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y lo ató con cadenas de bronce para llevarlo a Babilonia.

7 A nd of the vessels of the house of Jehovah hath Nebuchadnezzar brought in to Babylon, and putteth them in his temple in Babylon.

Nabucodonosor también llevó algunos de los objetos de la casa del Señor a Babilonia, y los puso en su templo en Babilonia.

8 A nd the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and his abominations that he hath done, and that which is found against him, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, and reign doth Jehoiachin his son in his stead.

Los demás hechos de Joacim, las abominaciones que hizo y lo que fue hallado contra él, están escritos en el Libro de los Reyes de Israel y de Judá. Su hijo Joaquín reinó en su lugar.

9 A son of eight years is Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months and ten days he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah;

Joaquín tenía ocho años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó tres meses y diez días en Jerusalén, e hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor.

10 a nd at the turn of the year hath king Nebuchadnezzar sent and bringeth him in to Babylon, with the desirable vessels of the house of Jehovah, and causeth Zedekiah his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem.

A la vuelta del año, el rey Nabucodonosor mandó que lo trajeran a Babilonia con los objetos preciosos de la casa del Señor, y nombró a su pariente Sedequías rey sobre Judá y Jerusalén.

11 A son of twenty and one years Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;

Sedequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén.

12 a nd he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah his God, he hath not been humbled before Jeremiah the prophet from the mouth of Jehovah;

Pero hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor su Dios; y no se humilló delante del profeta Jeremías que le hablaba por boca del Señor.

13 a nd also, against king Nebuchadnezzar he hath rebelled, who had caused him to swear by God, and he hardeneth his neck, and strengtheneth his heart, against turning back unto Jehovah, God of Israel.

También se rebeló contra el rey Nabucodonosor que le había hecho jurar fidelidad por Dios. Pero Sedequías fue terco y obstinó su corazón en vez de volverse al Señor, Dios de Israel.

14 A lso, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Jehovah that He hath sanctified in Jerusalem.

Asimismo todos los jefes de los sacerdotes y el pueblo fueron infieles en gran manera, y siguieron todas las abominaciones de las naciones, y profanaron la casa del Señor que El había consagrado en Jerusalén.

15 A nd Jehovah, God of their fathers, sendeth unto them by the hand of His messengers -- rising early and sending -- for He hath had pity on His people, and on His habitation,

El Señor, Dios de sus padres, les envió palabra repetidas veces por Sus mensajeros, porque El tenía compasión de Su pueblo y de Su morada.

16 a nd they are mocking at the messengers of God, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Jehovah against His people -- till there is no healing.

Pero ellos continuamente se burlaban de los mensajeros de Dios, despreciaban Sus palabras y se burlaban de Sus profetas, hasta que subió el furor del Señor contra Su pueblo, y ya no hubo remedio.

17 A nd He causeth to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slayeth their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and hath had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged -- the whole He hath given into his hand.

Entonces Dios hizo subir contra ellos al rey de los Caldeos, que mató a espada a sus jóvenes en la casa de su santuario, y no tuvo compasión del joven ni de la virgen, del viejo ni del débil; a todos ellos los entregó en su mano.

18 A nd all the vessels of the house of God, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king and of his princes -- the whole he hath brought in to Babylon.

Todos los objetos de la casa de Dios, grandes y pequeños, los tesoros de la casa del Señor y los tesoros del rey y de sus oficiales, todo se lo llevó a Babilonia.

19 A nd they burn the house of God, and break down the wall of Jerusalem, and all its palaces they have burnt with fire, and all its desirable vessels -- to destruction.

Y quemaron la casa de Dios, derribaron la muralla de Jerusalén, prendieron fuego a todos sus palacios y destruyeron todos sus objetos valiosos.

20 A nd he removeth those left of the sword unto Babylon, and they are to him and to his sons for servants, till the reigning of the kingdom of Persia,

A los que habían escapado de la espada los llevó a Babilonia; y fueron siervos de él y de sus hijos hasta el dominio del reino de Persia,

21 t o fulfil the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, till the land hath enjoyed its sabbaths; all the days of the desolation it kept sabbath -- to the fulness of seventy years.

para que se cumpliera la palabra del Señor por boca de Jeremías, hasta que la tierra hubiera gozado de sus días de reposo. Todos los días de su desolación la tierra reposó hasta que se cumplieron los setenta años.

22 A nd in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, hath Jehovah waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causeth an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

Y en el primer año de Ciro, rey de Persia, para que se cumpliera la palabra del Señor por boca de Jeremías, el Señor movió el espíritu de Ciro, rey de Persia, y éste envió a proclamar de palabra y también por escrito, por todo su reino:

23 ` Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, God of the heavens, given to me, and He hath laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that in Judah; who is among you of all His people? Jehovah his God with him, and he doth go up.'

“Así dice Ciro, rey de Persia: ‘El Señor, el Dios de los cielos, me ha dado todos los reinos de la tierra, y me ha designado para que yo Le edifique una casa en Jerusalén, que está en Judá. Quien de entre ustedes sea de Su pueblo, suba allá, y el Señor su Dios sea con él.’”
