1 A nd the people of the land take Jehoahaz son of Josiah, and cause him to reign instead of his father in Jerusalem.

O povo da terra tomou Jeoacaz, filho de Josias, e o constituiu rei em lugar de seu pai, em Jerusalém.

2 A son of three and twenty years Jehoahaz in his reigning, and three months he hath reigned in Jerusalem,

Tinha Jeoacaz vinte e três anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou três meses em Jerusalém.

3 a nd turn him aside doth the king of Egypt in Jerusalem, and fineth the land a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold;

Porquanto o rei do Egito o depôs em Jerusalém, e condenou a terra a pagar um tributo de cem talentos de prata e um talento de ouro.

4 a nd the king of Egypt causeth Eliakim his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem, and turneth his name to Jehoiakim; and Jehoahaz his brother hath Necho taken, and bringeth him in to Egypt.

Então o rei do Egito constituiu Eliaquim, irmão de Jeoacaz, rei sobre Judá e Jerusalém, e mudou-lhe o nome em Jeoiaquim; mas a seu irmão, Jeoacaz, Neco o tomou e o levou para o Egito.

5 A son of twenty and five years Jehoiakim in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah his God;

Tinha Jeoiaquim vinte e cinco anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém; e fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor seu Deus.

6 a gainst him hath Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and bindeth him in brazen fetters to take him away to Babylon.

Contra ele subiu Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, e o amarrou com cadeias a fim de o levar para Babilônia.

7 A nd of the vessels of the house of Jehovah hath Nebuchadnezzar brought in to Babylon, and putteth them in his temple in Babylon.

Também alguns dos vasos da casa do Senhor levou Nabucodonozor para Babilônia, e pô-los no seu templo em Babilônia.

8 A nd the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and his abominations that he hath done, and that which is found against him, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, and reign doth Jehoiachin his son in his stead.

Ora, o restante dos atos de Jeoiaquim, e as abominações que praticou, e o que se achou contra ele, eis que estão escritos no livro dos reis de Israel e de Judá. E Joaquim, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.

9 A son of eight years is Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months and ten days he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah;

Tinha Joaquim oito anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou três meses e dez dias em Jerusalém; e fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor.

10 a nd at the turn of the year hath king Nebuchadnezzar sent and bringeth him in to Babylon, with the desirable vessels of the house of Jehovah, and causeth Zedekiah his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem.

Na primavera seguinte o rei Nabucodonozor mandou que o levassem para Babilônia, juntamente com os vasos preciosos da casa do Senhor; e constituiu a Zedequias, irmão de Joaquim, rei sobre Judá e Jerusalém.

11 A son of twenty and one years Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;

Tinha Zedequias vinte e um anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou onze anos em Jerusalém.

12 a nd he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah his God, he hath not been humbled before Jeremiah the prophet from the mouth of Jehovah;

E fez o que era mau aos olhos do Senhor seu Deus: e não se humilhou perante o profeta Jeremias, que lhe falava da parte do Senhor.

13 a nd also, against king Nebuchadnezzar he hath rebelled, who had caused him to swear by God, and he hardeneth his neck, and strengtheneth his heart, against turning back unto Jehovah, God of Israel.

Também rebelou-se contra o rei Nabucodonozor, que o tinha ajuramentado por Deus. Mas endureceu a sua cerviz e se obstinou no seu coração, para não voltar ao Senhor, Deus de Israel.

14 A lso, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Jehovah that He hath sanctified in Jerusalem.

Além disso todos os chefes dos sacerdotes e o povo aumentavam cada vez mais a sua infidelidade, seguindo todas as abominações dos gentios; e profanaram a casa do Senhor, que ele tinha santificado para si em Jerusalém.

15 A nd Jehovah, God of their fathers, sendeth unto them by the hand of His messengers -- rising early and sending -- for He hath had pity on His people, and on His habitation,

E o Senhor, Deus de seus pais, falou-lhes persistentemente por intermédio de seus mensageiros, porque se compadeceu do seu povo e da sua habitação.

16 a nd they are mocking at the messengers of God, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Jehovah against His people -- till there is no healing.

Eles, porém, zombavam dos mensageiros de Deus, desprezando as suas palavras e mofando dos seus profetas, até que o furor do Senhor subiu tanto contra o seu povo, que mais nenhum remédio houve.

17 A nd He causeth to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slayeth their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and hath had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged -- the whole He hath given into his hand.

Por isso fez vir sobre eles o rei dos caldeus, o qual matou os seus mancebos ã espada, na casa do seu santuário, e não teve piedade nem dos mancebos, nem das donzelas, nem dos velhos nem dos decrépitos; entregou-lhos todos nas mãos.

18 A nd all the vessels of the house of God, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king and of his princes -- the whole he hath brought in to Babylon.

E todos os vasos da casa de Deus, grandes e pequenos, os tesouros da casa do Senhor, e os tesouros do rei e dos seus príncipes, tudo levou para Babilônia.

19 A nd they burn the house of God, and break down the wall of Jerusalem, and all its palaces they have burnt with fire, and all its desirable vessels -- to destruction.

Também queimaram a casa de Deus, derribaram os muros de Jerusalém, queimaram a fogo todos os seus palácios, e destruíram todos os seus vasos preciosos.

20 A nd he removeth those left of the sword unto Babylon, and they are to him and to his sons for servants, till the reigning of the kingdom of Persia,

E aos que escaparam da espada, a esses levou para Babilônia; e se tornaram servos dele e de seus filhos, até o tempo do reino da Pérsia,

21 t o fulfil the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, till the land hath enjoyed its sabbaths; all the days of the desolation it kept sabbath -- to the fulness of seventy years.

para se cumprir a palavra do Senhor proferida pela boca de Jeremias, até haver a terra gozado dos seus sábados; pois por todos os dias da desolação repousou, até que os setenta anos se cumpriram.

22 A nd in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, hath Jehovah waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causeth an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

Ora, no primeiro ano de Ciro, rei da pérsia, para que se cumprisse a palavra do Senhor proferida pela boca de Jeremias, despertou o Senhor o espírito de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, de modo que ele fez proclamar por todo o seu reino, de viva voz e também por escrito, este decreto:

23 ` Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, God of the heavens, given to me, and He hath laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that in Judah; who is among you of all His people? Jehovah his God with him, and he doth go up.'

Assim diz Ciro, rei da Pérsia: O Senhor Deus do céu me deu todos os reinos da terra, e me encarregou de lhe edificar uma casa em Jerusalém, que é em Judá. Quem há entre vós de todo o seu povo suba, e o Senhor seu Deus seja com ele.
