1 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Disse mais o Senhor a Moisés:

2 ` Command the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When ye are coming in unto the land of Canaan -- this the land which falleth to you by inheritance, the land of Canaan, by its borders --

Dá ordem aos filhos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Quando entrardes na terra de Canaã, terra esta que vos há de cair em herança, por toda a sua extensão,

3 t hen hath the south quarter been to you from the wilderness of Zin, by the sides of Edom, yea, the south border hath been to you from the extremity of the Salt Sea, eastward;

a banda do sul será desde o deserto de Zim, ao longo de Edom; e o limite do sul se estenderá da extremidade do Mar Salgado, para o oriente;

4 a nd the border hath turned round to you from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and hath passed on to Zin, and its outgoings have been from the south to Kadesh-Barnea, and it hath gone out at Hazar-Addar, and hath passed on to Azmon;

e este limite irá rodeando para o sul da subida de Acrabim, e continuará até Zim; e, saindo ao sul de Cades-Barnéia, seguirá para Hazar-Hadar, e continuará até Azmom;

5 a nd the border hath turned round from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its outgoings have been at the sea.

e daí irá rodeando até o ribeiro do Egito, e terminará na praia do mar.

6 ` As to the west border, even the great sea hath been to you a border; this is to you the west border.

Para o ocidente, o Mar Grande vos será por limite; o próprio mar será o vosso limite ocidental.

7 ` And this is to you the north border: from the great sea ye mark out for yourselves mount Hor;

Este será o vosso limite setentrional: desde o Mar Grande marcareis para vós até o Monte Hor;

8 f rom mount Hor ye mark out to go in to Hamath, and the outgoings of the border have been to Zedad;

desde o monte Hor marcareis até a entrada de Hamate; daí ele se estenderá até Zedade;

9 a nd the border hath gone out to Ziphron, and its outgoings have been at Hazar-Enan; this is to you the north border.

dali continuará até Zifrom, e irá terminar em Hazar-Enã. Este será o vosso limite setentrional.

10 ` And ye have marked out for yourselves for the border eastward, from Hazar-Enan to Shepham;

Marcareis o vosso limite oriental desde Hazar-Enã até Sefã;

11 a nd the border hath gone down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east of Ain, and the border hath gone down, and hath smitten against the shoulder of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;

este limite descerá de Sefã até Ribla, ao oriente de Aim; depois irá descendo ao longo da borda do mar de Quinerete ao oriente;

12 a nd the border hath gone down to the Jordan, and its outgoings have been at the Salt Sea; this is for you the land by its borders round about.'

descerá ainda para o Jordão, e irá terminar no Mar Salgado. Esta será a vossa terra, segundo os seus limites em redor.

13 A nd Moses commandeth the sons of Israel, saying, `This the land which ye inherit by lot, which Jehovah hath commanded to give to the nine tribes and the half of the tribe;

Moisés, pois, deu ordem aos filhos de Israel, dizendo: Esta é a terra que herdareis por sortes, a qual o Senhor mandou que se desse

14 f or the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received, by the house of their fathers; and the tribe of the children of Gad, by the house of their fathers; and the half of the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance;

porque a tribo dos filhos de Rúben, segundo as casas de seus pais, e a tribo dos filhos de Gade, segundo as casas de seus pais, como também a meia tribo de Manassés, já receberam a sua herança;

15 t he two tribes and the half of the tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan, Jericho, eastward, at the -rising.'

isto é, duas tribos e meia já receberam a sua herança aquém do Jordão, na altura de Jericó, do lado oriental.

16 A nd Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

Disse mais o Senhor a Moisés:

17 ` These the names of the men who give to you the inheritance of the land: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun,

Estes são os nomes dos homens que vos repartirão a terra por herança: Eleazar, o sacerdote, e Josué, filho de Num;

18 a nd one prince -- one prince -- for a tribe ye do take to give the land by inheritance.

também tomareis de cada tribo um príncipe, para repartir a terra em herança.

19 ` And these the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;

E estes são os nomes dos homens: Da tribo de Judá, Calebe, filho de Jefoné:

20 a nd of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Aminihud;

da tribo dos filhos de Simeão, Semuel, filho de Amiúde;

21 o f the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;

da tribo de Benjamim, Elidá, filho de Quislom;

22 a nd of the tribe of the sons of Dan, the prince Bukki son of Jogli;

da tribo dos filhos de Dã o príncipe Buqui, filho de Jógli;

23 o f the sons of Joseph, of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, the prince Hanniel son of Ephod;

dos filhos de José: da tribo dos filhos de Manassés o príncipe Haniel, filho de Éfode;

24 a nd of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, the prince Kemuel son of Shiphtan;

da tribo dos filhos de Efraim o príncipe Quemuel, filho de Siftã;

25 a nd of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, the prince Elizaphan son of Parnach;

da tribo dos filhos de Zebulom o príncipe Elizafã, filho de Parnaque;

26 a nd of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the prince Paltiel son of Azzan;

da tribo dos filhos de Issacar o príncipe Paltiel, filho de Azã;

27 a nd of the tribe of the sons of Asher, the prince Ahihud son of Shelomi;

da tribo dos filhos de Aser o príncipe Aiúde, filho de Selômi;

28 a nd of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, the prince Pedahel son of Ammihud.'

da tribo dos filhos de Naftali o príncipe Pedael, filho de Amiúde.

29 T hese those whom Jehovah hath commanded to give the sons of Israel inheritance in the land of Canaan.

Estes são aqueles a quem o Senhor ordenou que repartissem a herança pelos filhos de Israel na terra de Canaã.
