1 A nd Joseph hath not been able to refrain himself before all those standing by him, and he calleth, `Put out every man from me;' and no man hath stood with him when Joseph maketh himself known unto his brethren,

Então José não se podia conter diante de todos os que estavam com ele; e clamou: Fazei a todos sair da minha presença; e ninguém ficou com ele, quando se deu a conhecer a seus irmãos.

2 a nd he giveth forth his voice in weeping, and the Egyptians hear, and the house of Pharaoh heareth.

E levantou a voz em choro, de maneira que os egípcios o ouviram, bem como a casa de Faraó.

3 A nd Joseph saith unto his brethren, `I Joseph, is my father yet alive?' and his brethren have not been able to answer him, for they have been troubled at his presence.

Disse, então, José a seus irmãos: Eu sou José; vive ainda meu pai? E seus irmãos não lhe puderam responder, pois estavam pasmados diante dele.

4 A nd Joseph saith unto his brethren, `Come nigh unto me, I pray you,' and they come nigh; and he saith, `I Joseph, your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt;

José disse mais a seus irmãos: Chegai-vos a mim, peço-vos. E eles se chegaram. Então ele prosseguiu: Eu sou José, vosso irmão, a quem vendestes para o Egito.

5 a nd now, be not grieved, nor let it be displeasing in your eyes that ye sold me hither, for to preserve life hath God sent me before you.

Agora, pois, não vos entristeçais, nem vos aborreçais por me haverdes vendido para cá; porque para preservar vida é que Deus me enviou adiante de vós.

6 ` Because these two years the famine in the heart of the land, and yet five years, which there is neither ploughing nor harvest;

Porque já houve dois anos de fome na terra, e ainda restam cinco anos em que não haverá lavoura nem sega.

7 a nd God sendeth me before you, to place of you a remnant in the land, and to give life to you by a great escape;

Deus enviou-me adiante de vós, para conservar-vos descendência na terra, e para guardar-vos em vida por um grande livramento.

8 a nd now, ye -- ye have not sent me hither, but God, and He doth set me for a father to Pharaoh, and for lord to all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.

Assim não fostes vós que me enviastes para cá, senão Deus, que me tem posto por pai de Faraó, e por senhor de toda a sua casa, e como governador sobre toda a terra do Egito.

9 ` Haste, and go up unto my father, then ye have said to him, Thus said Joseph thy son, God hath set me for lord to all Egypt; come down unto me, stay not,

Apressai-vos, subi a meu pai, e dizei-lhe: Assim disse teu filho José: Deus me tem posto por senhor de toda a terra do Egito; desce a mim, e não te demores;

10 a nd thou hast dwelt in the land of Goshen, and been near unto me, thou and thy sons, and thy son's sons, and thy flock, and thy herd, and all that thou hast,

habitarás na terra de Gósem e estarás perto de mim, tu e os teus filhos e os filhos de teus filhos, e os teus rebanhos, o teu gado e tudo quanto tens;

11 a nd I have nourished thee there -- for yet five years of famine -- lest thou become poor, thou and thy household, and all that thou hast.

ali te sustentarei, porque ainda haverá cinco anos de fome, para que não sejas reduzido ã pobreza, tu e tua casa, e tudo o que tens.

12 ` And lo, your eyes are seeing, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that my mouth which is speaking unto you;

Eis que os vossos olhos, e os de meu irmão Benjamim, vêem que é minha boca que vos fala.

13 a nd ye have declared to my father all my honour in Egypt, and all that ye have seen, and ye have hasted, and have brought down my father hither.'

Fareis, pois, saber a meu pai toda a minha glória no Egito; e tudo o que tendes visto; e apressar-vos-eis a fazer descer meu pai para cá.

14 A nd he falleth on the neck of Benjamin his brother, and weepeth, and Benjamin hath wept on his neck;

Então se lançou ao pescoço de Benjamim seu irmão, e chorou; e Benjamim chorou também ao pescoço dele.

15 a nd he kisseth all his brethren, and weepeth over them; and afterwards have his brethren spoken with him.

E José beijou a todos os seus irmãos, chorando sobre eles; depois seus irmãos falaram com ele.

16 A nd the sound hath been heard in the house of Pharaoh, saying, `Come have the brethren of Joseph;' and it is good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants,

Esta nova se fez ouvir na casa de Faraó: São vindos os irmãos de José; o que agradou a Faraó e a seus servos.

17 a nd Pharaoh saith unto Joseph, `Say unto thy brethren, This do ye: lade your beasts, and go, enter ye the land of Canaan,

Ordenou Faraó a José: Dize a teus irmãos: Fazei isto: carregai os vossos animais e parti, tornai ã terra de Canaã;

18 a nd take your father, and your households, and come unto me, and I give to you the good of the land of Egypt, and eat ye the fat of the land.

tomai o vosso pai e as vossas familias e vinde a mim; e eu vos darei o melhor da terra do Egito, e comereis da fartura da terra.

19 ` Yea, thou -- thou hast been commanded: this do ye, take for yourselves out of the land of Egypt, waggons for your infants, and for your wives, and ye have brought your father, and come;

A ti, pois, é ordenado dizer-lhes: Fazei isto: levai vós da terra do Egito carros para vossos meninos e para vossas mulheres; trazei vosso pai, e vinde.

20 a nd your eye hath no pity on your vessels, for the good of all the land of Egypt yours.'

E não vos pese coisa alguma das vossas alfaias; porque o melhor de toda a terra do Egito será vosso.

21 A nd the sons of Israel do so, and Joseph giveth waggons to them by the command of Pharaoh, and he giveth to them provision for the way;

Assim fizeram os filhos de Israel. José lhes deu carros, conforme o mandado de Faraó, e deu-lhes também provisão para o caminho.

22 t o all of them hath he given -- to each changes of garments, and to Benjamin he hath given three hundred silverlings, and five changes of garments;

A todos eles deu, a cada um, mudas de roupa; mas a Benjamim deu trezentas peças de prata, e cinco mudas de roupa.

23 a nd to his father he hath sent thus: ten asses bearing of the good things of Egypt, and ten she-asses bearing corn and bread, even food for his father for the way.

E a seu pai enviou o seguinte: dez jumentos carregados do melhor do Egito, e dez jumentas carregadas de trigo, pão e provisão para seu pai, para o caminho.

24 A nd he sendeth his brethren away, and they go; and he saith unto them, `Be not angry in the way.'

Assim despediu seus irmãos e, ao partirem eles, disse-lhes: Não contendais pelo caminho.

25 A nd they go up out of Egypt, and come in to the land of Canaan, unto Jacob their father,

Então subiram do Egito, vieram ã terra de Canaã, a Jacó seu pai,

26 a nd they declare to him, saying, `Joseph yet alive,' and that he ruler over all the land of Egypt; and his heart ceaseth, for he hath not given credence to them.

e lhe anunciaram, dizendo: José ainda vive, e é governador de toda a terra do Egito. E o seu coração desmaiou, porque não os acreditava.

27 A nd they speak unto him all the words of Joseph, which he hath spoken unto them, and he seeth the waggons which Joseph hath sent to bear him away, and live doth the spirit of Jacob their father;

Quando, porém, eles lhe contaram todas as palavras que José lhes falara, e vendo Jacó, seu pai, os carros que José enviara para levá-lo, reanimou-se-lhe o espírito;

28 a nd Israel saith, `Enough! Joseph my son yet alive; I go and see him before I die.'

e disse Israel: Basta; ainda vive meu filho José; eu irei e o verei antes que morra.
