1 A nd there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:

E veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:

2 ` Son of man, set thy face unto mountains of Israel, and prophesy concerning them:

Filho do homem, dirige o teu rosto para os montes de Israel, e profetiza contra eles.

3 A nd thou hast said: Mountains of Israel, Hear ye a word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus said the Lord Jehovah To the mountains, and to the hills, To the streams, and to the valleys, Lo, I, I am bringing in against you a sword, And I have destroyed your high places.

E dize: Montes de Israel, ouvi a palavra do Senhor Deus. Assim diz o Senhor Deus aos montes, aos outeiros,

4 A nd desolated have been your altars, And broken your images, And I have caused your wounded to fall before your idols,

E serão assolados os vossos altares, e quebrados os vossos altares de incenso; e arrojarei os vossos mortos diante dos vossos ídolos.

5 A nd put the carcases of the sons of Israel before their idols, And scattered your bones round about your altars.

E porei os cadáveres dos filhos de Israel diante dos seus ídolos, e espalharei os vossos ossos em redor dos vossos altares.

6 I n all your dwellings the cities are laid waste, And the high places are desolate, So that waste and desolate are your altars, And broken and ceased have your idols, And cut down have been your images, And blotted out have been your works.

Em todos os vossos lugares habitáveis as cidades serão destruídas, e os altos assolados; para que os vossos altares sejam destruídos e assolados, e os vossos ídolos se quebrem e sejam destruídos, e os altares de incenso sejam cortados, e desfeitas as vossas obras.

7 A nd fallen hath the wounded in your midst, And ye have known that I Jehovah.

E os traspassados cairão no meio de vós, e sabereis que eu sou o Senhor.

8 A nd I have caused to remain, In their being to you the escaped of the sword among nations, In your being scattered through lands.

Contudo deixarei com vida um restante, visto que tereis alguns que escaparão da espada entre as nações, quando fordes espalhados pelos países.

9 A nd remembered Me have your escaped among nations, Whither they have been taken captive, Because I have been broken with their heart that is going a-whoring, That hath turned aside from off Me, And with their eyes they are going a-whoring after their idols, And they have been loathsome in their own faces, For the evils that they have done -- all their abominations.

Então os que dentre vós escaparem se lembrarão de mim entre as nações para onde forem levados em cativeiro, quando eu lhes tiver quebrantado o coração corrompido, que se desviou de mim, e cegado os seus olhos, que se vão corrompendo após os seus ídolos; e terão nojo de si mesmos, por causa das maldades que fizeram em todas as suas abominações.

10 A nd they have known that I Jehovah, Not for nought have I spoken to do to them this evil.

E saberão que eu sou o Senhor; não disse debalde que lhes faria este mal.

11 T hus said the Lord Jehovah: `Smite with thy palm, and stamp with thy foot, And say: Alas, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, Who by sword, by famine, and by pestilence do fall.

Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Bate com a mão, e bate com o teu pé, e dize: Ah! por causa de todas as péssimas abominações da casa de Israel; pois eles cairão ã espada, e de fome, e de peste.

12 T he far-off by pestilence dieth, And the near by sword falleth, And the left and the besieged by famine dieth, And I have completed my fury upon them.

O que estiver longe morrerá de peste; e, o que está perto cairá ã espada; e o que ficar de resto e cercado morrerá de fome; assim cumprirei o meu furor contra eles.

13 A nd ye have known that I Jehovah, In their wounded being in the midst of their idols, Round about their altars, On every high hill, on all tops of mountains, And under every green tree, and under every thick oak, The place where they gave sweet fragrance to all their idols.

Então sabereis que eu sou o Senhor, quando os seus mortos estiverem estendidos no meio dos seus ídolos, em redor dos seus altares, em todo outeiro alto, em todos os cumes dos montes, e debaixo de toda árvore verde, e debaixo de todo carvalho frondoso, lugares onde ofereciam suave cheiro a todos os seus ídolos.

14 A nd I have stretched out my hand against them, And have made the land a desolation, Even a desolation from the wilderness to Diblath, In all their dwellings, And they have known that I Jehovah!'

E estenderei a minha mão sobre eles, e farei a terra desolada e erma, em todas as suas habitações; desde o deserto até Dibla; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.
