1 A nd the third day a marriage happened in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there,

Três dias depois, houve um casamento em Caná da Galiléia, e estava ali a mãe de Jesus;

2 a nd also Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage;

e foi também convidado Jesus com seus discípulos para o casamento.

3 a nd wine having failed, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, `Wine they have not;'

E, tendo acabado o vinho, a mãe de Jesus lhe disse: Eles não têm vinho.

4 J esus saith to her, `What -- to me and to thee, woman? not yet is mine hour come.'

Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Mulher, que tenho eu contigo? Ainda não é chegada a minha hora.

5 H is mother saith to the ministrants, `Whatever he may say to you -- do.'

Disse então sua mãe aos serventes: Fazei tudo quanto ele vos disser.

6 A nd there were there six water-jugs of stone, placed according to the purifying of the Jews, holding each two or three measures.

Ora, estavam ali postas seis talhas de pedra, para as purificações dos judeus, e em cada uma cabiam duas ou três metretas.

7 J esus saith to them, `Fill the water-jugs with water;' and they filled them -- unto the brim;

Ordenou-lhe Jesus: Enchei de água essas talhas. E encheram- nas até em cima.

8 a nd he saith to them, `Draw out, now, and bear to the director of the apartment;' and they bare.

Então lhes disse: Tirai agora, e levai ao mestre-sala. E eles o fizeram.

9 A nd as the director of the apartment tasted the water become wine, and knew not whence it is, (but the ministrants knew, who have drawn the water,) the director of the feast doth call the bridegroom,

Quando o mestre-sala provou a água tornada em vinho, não sabendo donde era, se bem que o sabiam os serventes que tinham tirado a água, chamou o mestre-sala ao noivo

10 a nd saith to him, `Every man, at first, the good wine doth set forth; and when they may have drunk freely, then the inferior; thou didst keep the good wine till now.'

e lhe disse: Todo homem põe primeiro o vinho bom e, quando já têm bebido bem, então o inferior; mas tu guardaste até agora o bom vinho.

11 T his beginning of the signs did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him;

Assim deu Jesus início aos seus sinais em Caná da Galiléia, e manifestou a sua glória; e os seus discípulos creram nele.

12 a fter this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and there they remained not many days.

Depois disso desceu a Cafarnaum, ele, sua mãe, seus irmãos, e seus discípulos; e ficaram ali não muitos dias.

13 A nd the passover of the Jews was nigh, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

Estando próxima a páscoa dos judeus, Jesus subiu a Jerusalém.

14 a nd he found in the temple those selling oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the money-changers sitting,

E achou no templo os que vendiam bois, ovelhas e pombas, e também os cambistas ali sentados;

15 a nd having made a whip of small cords, he put all forth out of the temple, also the sheep, and the oxen; and of the money-changers he poured out the coins, and the tables he overthrew,

e tendo feito um azorrague de cordas, lançou todos fora do templo, bem como as ovelhas e os bois; e espalhou o dinheiro dos cambistas, e virou-lhes as mesas;

16 a nd to those selling the doves he said, `Take these things hence; make not the house of my Father a house of merchandise.'

e disse aos que vendiam as pombas: Tirai daqui estas coisas; não façais da casa de meu Pai casa de negócio.

17 A nd his disciples remembered that it is written, `The zeal of Thy house did eat me up;'

Lembraram-se então os seus discípulos de que está escrito: O zelo da tua casa me devorará.

18 t he Jews then answered and said to him, `What sign dost thou shew to us -- that thou dost these things?'

Protestaram, pois, os judeus, perguntando-lhe: Que sinal de autoridade nos mostras, uma vez que fazes isto?

19 J esus answered and said to them, `Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up.'

Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Derribai este santuário, e em três dias o levantarei.

20 T he Jews, therefore, said, `Forty and six years was this sanctuary building, and wilt thou in three days raise it up?'

Disseram, pois, os judeus: Em quarenta e seis anos foi edificado este santuário, e tu o levantarás em três dias?

21 b ut he spake concerning the sanctuary of his body;

Mas ele falava do santuário do seu corpo.

22 w hen, then, he was raised out of the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this to them, and they believed the Writing, and the word that Jesus said.

Quando, pois ressurgiu dentre os mortos, seus discípulos se lembraram de que dissera isto, e creram na Escritura, e na palavra que Jesus havia dito.

23 A nd as he was in Jerusalem, in the passover, in the feast, many believed in his name, beholding his signs that he was doing;

Ora, estando ele em Jerusalém pela festa da páscoa, muitos, vendo os sinais que fazia, creram no seu nome.

24 a nd Jesus himself was not trusting himself to them, because of his knowing all,

Mas o próprio Jesus não confiava a eles, porque os conhecia a todos,

25 a nd because he had no need that any should testify concerning man, for he himself was knowing what was in man.

e não necessitava de que alguém lhe desse testemunho do homem, pois bem sabia o que havia no homem.
