1 A fter these things did Jesus manifest himself again to the disciples on the sea of Tiberias, and he did manifest himself thus:

Depois disto manifestou-se Jesus outra vez aos discípulos junto do mar de Tiberíades; e manifestou-se deste modo:

2 T here were together Simon Peter, and Thomas who is called Didymus, and Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, and the of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.

Estavam juntos Simão Pedro, Tomé, chamado Dídimo, Natanael, que era de Caná da Galiléia, os filhos de Zebedeu, e outros dois dos seus discípulos.

3 S imon Peter saith to them, `I go away to fish;' they say to him, `We go -- we also -- with thee;' they went forth and entered into the boat immediately, and on that night they caught nothing.

Disse-lhes Simão Pedro: Vou pescar. Responderam-lhe: Nós também vamos contigo. Saíram e entraram no barco; e naquela noite nada apanharam.

4 A nd morning being now come, Jesus stood at the shore, yet indeed the disciples did not know that it is Jesus;

Mas ao romper da manhã, Jesus se apresentou na praia; todavia os discípulos não sabiam que era ele.

5 J esus, therefore, saith to them, `Lads, have ye any meat?'

Disse-lhes, pois, Jesus: Filhos, não tendes nada que comer? Responderam-lhe: Não.

6 t hey answered him, `No;' and he said to them, `Cast the net at the right side of the boat, and ye shall find;' they cast, therefore, and no longer were they able to draw it, from the multitude of the fishes.

Disse-lhes ele: Lançai a rede ã direita do barco, e achareis. Lançaram-na, pois, e já não a podiam puxar por causa da grande quantidade de peixes.

7 T hat disciple, therefore, whom Jesus was loving saith to Peter, `The Lord it is!' Simon Peter, therefore, having heard that it is the Lord, did gird on the outer coat, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea;

Então aquele discípulo a quem Jesus amava disse a Pedro: Senhor. Quando, pois, Simão Pedro ouviu que era o Senhor, cingiu-se com a túnica, porque estava despido, e lançou-se ao mar;

8 a nd the other disciples came by the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but as it were about two hundred cubits off, dragging the net of the fishes;

mas os outros discípulos vieram no barquinho, puxando a rede com os peixes, porque não estavam distantes da terra senão cerca de duzentos côvados.

9 w hen, therefore, they came to the land, they behold a fire of coals lying, and a fish lying on it, and bread.

Ora, ao saltarem em terra, viram ali brasas, e um peixe posto em cima delas, e pão.

10 J esus saith to them, `Bring ye from the fishes that ye caught now;'

Disse-lhes Jesus: Trazei alguns dos peixes que agora apanhastes.

11 S imon Peter went up, and drew the net up on the land, full of great fishes, an hundred fifty and three, and though they were so many, the net was not rent.

Entrou Simão Pedro no barco e puxou a rede para terra, cheia de cento e cinquenta e três grandes peixes; e, apesar de serem tantos, não se rompeu a rede.

12 J esus saith to them, `Come ye, dine;' and none of the disciples was venturing to inquire of him, `Who art thou?' knowing that it is the Lord;

Disse-lhes Jesus: Vinde, comei. Nenhum dos discípulos ousava perguntar-lhe: Quem és tu? sabendo que era o Senhor.

13 J esus, therefore, doth come and take the bread and give to them, and the fish in like manner;

Chegou Jesus, tomou o pão e deu-lho, e semelhantemente o peixe.

14 t his now a third time Jesus was manifested to his disciples, having been raised from the dead.

Foi esta a terceira vez que Jesus se manifestou aos seus discípulos, depois de ter ressurgido dentre os mortos.

15 W hen, therefore, they dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, `Simon, of Jonas, dost thou love me more than these?' he saith to him, `Yes, Lord; thou hast known that I dearly love thee;' he saith to him, `Feed my lambs.'

Depois de terem comido, perguntou Jesus a Simão Pedro: Simão Pedro: Simão, filho de João, amas-me mais do que estes? Respondeu- lhe: Sim, Senhor; tu sabes que te amo. Disse-lhe: Apascenta os meus cordeirinhos.

16 H e saith to him again, a second time, `Simon, of Jonas, dost thou love me?' he saith to him, `Yes, Lord; thou hast known that I dearly love thee;' he saith to him, `Tend my sheep.'

Tornou a perguntar-lhe: Simão, filho de João, amas-me? Respondeu-lhe: Sim, Senhor; tu sabes que te amo. Disse-lhe: Pastoreia as minhas ovelhas.

17 H e saith to him the third time, `Simon, of Jonas, dost thou dearly love me?' Peter was grieved that he said to him the third time, `Dost thou dearly love me?' and he said to him, `Lord, thou hast known all things; thou dost know that I dearly love thee.' Jesus saith to him, `Feed my sheep;

Perguntou-lhe terceira vez: Simão, filho de João, amas-me? Entristeceu-se Pedro por lhe ter perguntado pela terceira vez: Amas- me? E respondeu-lhe: Senhor, tu sabes todas as coisas; tu sabes que te amo. Disse-lhe Jesus: Apascenta as minhas ovelhas.

18 v erily, verily, I say to thee, When thou wast younger, thou wast girding thyself and wast walking whither thou didst will, but when thou mayest be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another will gird thee, and shall carry whither thou dost not will;'

Em verdade, em verdade te digo que, quando eras mais moço, te cingias a ti mesmo, e andavas por onde querias; mas, quando fores velho, estenderás as mãos e outro te cingirá, e te levará para onde tu não queres.

19 a nd this he said, signifying by what death he shall glorify God; and having said this, he saith to him, `Be following me.'

Ora, isto ele disse, significando com que morte havia Pedro de glorificar a Deus. E, havendo dito isto, ordenou-lhe: Segue-me.

20 A nd Peter having turned about doth see the disciple whom Jesus was loving following, (who also reclined in the supper on his breast, and said, `Sir, who is he who is delivering thee up?')

E Pedro, virando-se, viu que o seguia aquele discípulo a quem Jesus amava, o mesmo que na ceia se recostara sobre o peito de Jesus e perguntara: Senhor, quem é o que te trai?

21 P eter having seen this one, saith to Jesus, `Lord, and what of this one?'

Ora, vendo Pedro a este, perguntou a Jesus: Senhor, e deste que será?

22 J esus saith to him, `If him I will to remain till I come, what -- to thee? be thou following me.' This word, therefore, went forth to the brethren that that disciple doth not die,

Respondeu-lhe Jesus: Se eu quiser que ele fique até que eu venha, que tens tu com isso? Segue-me tu.

23 y et Jesus did not say to him, that he doth not die, but, `If him I will to remain till I come, what -- to thee?'

Divulgou-se, pois, entre os irmãos este dito, que aquele discípulo não havia de morrer. Jesus, porém, não disse que não morreria, mas: se eu quiser que ele fique até que eu venha, que tens tu com isso?

24 t his is the disciple who is testifying concerning these things, and he wrote these things, and we have known that his testimony is true.

Este é o discípulo que dá testemunho destas coisas e as escreveu; e sabemos que o seu testemunho é verdadeiro.

25 A nd there are also many other things -- as many as Jesus did -- which, if they may be written one by one, not even the world itself I think to have place for the books written. Amen.

E ainda muitas outras coisas há que Jesus fez; as quais, se fossem escritas uma por uma, creio que nem ainda no mundo inteiro caberiam os livros que se escrevessem.
