1 A nd it cometh to pass, many days after that Jehovah hath given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua is old, entering into days,

Aconteció muchos días después de haber dado el Señor reposo a Israel de todos sus enemigos de alrededor, siendo Josué ya muy anciano y avanzado en años,

2 a nd Joshua calleth for all Israel, for its elders, and for its heads, and for its judges, and for its authorities, and saith unto them, `I have become old; I have entered into days;

que Josué llamó a todo Israel, a sus ancianos, a sus jefes, a sus jueces y a sus oficiales, y les dijo: “Yo ya soy viejo y avanzado en años.

3 a nd ye -- ye have seen all that Jehovah your God hath done to all these nations because of you, for Jehovah your God He who is fighting for you;

Y ustedes han visto todo lo que el Señor su Dios ha hecho a todas estas naciones por causa de ustedes, porque el Señor su Dios es quien ha peleado por ustedes.

4 s ee, I have caused to fall to you these nations who are left for an inheritance to your tribes, from the Jordan, (and all the nations which I cut off), and the great sea, the going in of the sun.

Miren, les he asignado por suerte, como heredad para sus tribus, estas naciones que aún quedan junto con todas las naciones que he destruido, desde el Jordán hasta el Mar Grande (el Mediterráneo), hacia la puesta del sol.

5 ` As to Jehovah your God, He doth thrust them from your presence, and hath dispossessed them from before you, and ye have possessed their land, as Jehovah your God hath spoken to you,

El Señor su Dios las echará de delante de ustedes y las expulsará de su presencia; y ustedes poseerán su tierra, tal como el Señor su Dios les ha prometido.

6 a nd ye have been very strong to keep and to do the whole that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, so as not to turn aside from it right or left,

Esfuércense, pues, en guardar y en hacer todo lo que está escrito en el Libro de la Ley de Moisés, para que no se aparten de ella ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda,

7 s o as not to go in among these nations, these who are left with you; and of the name of their gods ye do not make mention, nor do ye swear, nor do ye serve them, nor do ye bow yourselves to them;

a fin de que no se junten con estas naciones, las que quedan entre ustedes. No mencionen el nombre de sus dioses, ni hagan que nadie jure por ellos, ni los sirvan, ni se inclinen ante ellos,

8 b ut to Jehovah your God ye do cleave, as ye have done till this day.

sino que al Señor, el Dios de ustedes, se mantendrán unidos, como lo han hecho hasta hoy.

9 A nd Jehovah is dispossessing from before you nations great and mighty; as for you, none hath stood in your presence till this day;

Porque el Señor ha expulsado a naciones grandes y poderosas de delante de ustedes. En cuanto a ustedes, nadie les ha podido hacer frente hasta hoy.

10 o ne man of you doth pursue a thousand, for Jehovah your God He who is fighting for you, as He hath spoken to you;

Un solo hombre de ustedes hace huir a mil, porque el Señor su Dios es quien pelea por ustedes, tal como El les ha prometido.

11 a nd ye have been very watchful for yourselves to love Jehovah your God.

Tengan sumo cuidado, por la vida de ustedes, de amar al Señor su Dios.

12 ` But -- if ye at all turn back and have cleaved to the remnant of these nations, these who are left with you, and intermarried with them, and gone in to them, and they to you,

Porque si se vuelven, y se unen al resto de estos pueblos que permanecen entre ustedes, y contraen matrimonio con ellos, y se juntan con ellos, y ellos con ustedes,

13 k now certainly that Jehovah your God is not continuing to dispossess these nations from before you, and they have been to you for a gin, and for a snare, and for a scourge, in your sides, and for thorns in your eyes, till ye perish from off this good ground which Jehovah your God hath given to you.

ciertamente sepan que el Señor su Dios no continuará expulsando a estas naciones de delante de ustedes, sino que serán como lazo y trampa para ustedes, como azote en sus costados y como espinas en sus ojos, hasta que perezcan de sobre esta buena tierra que el Señor su Dios les ha dado.

14 ` And lo, I am going, to-day, in the way of all the earth, and ye have known -- with all your heart, and with all your soul -- that there hath not fallen one thing of all the good things which Jehovah your God hath spoken concerning you; the whole have come to you; there hath not failed of it one thing.

Miren, hoy me voy por el camino de toda la tierra, y ustedes saben con todo su corazón y con toda su alma que ninguna de las buenas palabras que el Señor su Dios habló acerca de ustedes ha faltado. Todas les han sido cumplidas, ninguna de ellas ha faltado.

15 ` And it hath been, as there hath come upon you all the good thing which Jehovah your God hath spoken unto you, so doth Jehovah bring upon you the whole of the evil thing, till His destroying you from off this good ground which Jehovah your God hath given to you;

Y sucederá que así como han venido sobre ustedes todas las buenas palabras que el Señor su Dios les habló, de la misma manera el Señor traerá sobre ustedes toda amenaza, hasta que los haya destruido de sobre esta buena tierra que el Señor su Dios les ha dado.

16 i n your transgressing the covenant of Jehovah your God which He commanded you, and ye have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them, then hath the anger of Jehovah burned against you, and ye have perished hastily from off the good land which He hath given to you.'

Cuando quebranten el pacto que el Señor su Dios les ordenó, y vayan y sirvan a otros dioses, y se inclinen ante ellos, entonces la ira del Señor se encenderá contra ustedes, y perecerán prontamente de sobre esta buena tierra que El les ha dado.”
