1 » Los sacerdotes levitas, es decir, toda la tribu de Leví, no tendrán parte ni heredad en Israel; de las ofrendas quemadas a Jehová y de la heredad de él comerán.

`There is not to the priests the Levites -- all the tribe of Levi -- a portion and inheritance with Israel; fire-offerings of Jehovah, even His inheritance, they eat,

2 N o tendrán, pues, heredad entre sus hermanos; Jehová es su heredad, como él les ha dicho.

and he hath no inheritance in the midst of his brethren; Jehovah Himself his inheritance, as He hath spoken to him.

3 » Éste será el derecho de los sacerdotes sobre aquellos del pueblo que ofrezcan en sacrificio un buey o un cordero: darán al sacerdote la pierna, las quijadas y el cuajar.

`And this is the priest's right from the people, from those sacrificing a sacrifice, whether ox or sheep, he hath even given to the priest the leg, and the two cheeks, and the stomach;

4 L as primicias de tu grano, de tu vino y de tu aceite, y las primicias de la lana de tus ovejas le darás,

the first of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy flock, thou dost give to him;

5 p orque a él ha escogido Jehová, tu Dios, de entre todas tus tribus, para que él y sus hijos ministren en el nombre de Jehová para siempre.

for on him hath Jehovah thy God fixed, out of all thy tribes, to stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, He and his sons continually.

6 » Cuando salga un levita de cualquiera de las ciudades de Israel donde haya vivido, y vaya con todo el deseo de su alma al lugar que Jehová escoja,

`And when the Levite cometh from one of thy cities out of all Israel, where he hath sojourned, and hath come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah doth choose,

7 m inistrará en el nombre de Jehová, su Dios, como todos sus hermanos, los levitas que estén allí delante de Jehová.

then he hath ministered in the name of Jehovah his God, like all his brethren, the Levites, who are standing there before Jehovah,

8 I gual ración a la de los otros comerá, además de sus patrimonios. Amonestación contra costumbres paganas

9 » Cuando entres a la tierra que Jehová, tu Dios, te da, no aprenderás a hacer según las abominaciones de aquellas naciones.

`When thou art coming in unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, thou dost not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations:

10 N o sea hallado en ti quien haga pasar a su hijo o a su hija por el fuego, ni quien practique adivinación, ni agorero, ni sortílego, ni hechicero,

there is not found in thee one causing his son and his daughter to pass over into fire, a user of divinations, an observer of clouds, and an enchanter, and a sorcerer,

11 n i encantador, ni adivino, ni mago, ni quien consulte a los muertos.

and a charmer, and one asking at a familiar spirit, and a wizard, and one seeking unto the dead.

12 P orque es abominable para Jehová cualquiera que hace estas cosas, y por estas cosas abominables Jehová, tu Dios, expulsa a estas naciones de tu presencia.

`For the abomination of Jehovah every one doing these, and because of these abominations is Jehovah thy God dispossessing them from thy presence.

13 P erfecto serás delante de Jehová, tu Dios.

Perfect thou art with Jehovah thy God,

14 P orque estas naciones que vas a heredar, a agoreros y a adivinos oyen, pero a ti no te ha permitido esto Jehová, tu Dios. Dios promete un profeta como Moisés

for these nations whom thou art possessing, unto observers of clouds, and unto diviners, do hearken; and thou -- not so hath Jehovah thy God suffered thee.

15 » Un profeta como yo te levantará Jehová, tu Dios, de en medio de ti, de tus hermanos; a él oiréis.

`A prophet out of thy midst, out of thy brethren, like to me, doth Jehovah thy God raise up to thee -- unto him ye hearken;

16 C onforme a todo lo que pediste a Jehová, tu Dios, en el Horeb, el día de la asamblea, al decir: “No vuelva yo a oír la voz de Jehová, mi Dios, ni vea yo más este gran fuego, para que no muera.”

according to all that thou didst ask from Jehovah thy God, in Horeb, in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not add to hear the voice of Jehovah my God, and this great fire let me not see any more, and I die not;

17 Y Jehová me dijo: “Bien está eso que han dicho.”

and Jehovah saith unto me, They have done well that they have spoken;

18 U n profeta como tú les levantaré en medio de sus hermanos; pondré mis palabras en su boca y él les dirá todo lo que yo le mande.

a prophet I raise up to them, out of the midst of their brethren, like to thee; and I have given my words in his mouth, and he hath spoken unto them all that which I command him;

19 P ero a cualquiera que no oiga las palabras que él pronuncie en mi nombre, yo le pediré cuenta.

and it hath been -- the man who doth not hearken unto My words which he doth speak in My name, I require of him.

20 E l profeta que tenga la presunción de pronunciar en mi nombre una palabra que yo no le haya mandado pronunciar, o que hable en nombre de dioses ajenos, ese profeta morirá.

`Only, the prophet who presumeth to speak a word in My name -- that which I have not commanded him to speak -- and who speaketh in the name of other gods -- even that prophet hath died.

21 T al vez digas en tu corazón: “¿Cómo conoceremos que ésta no es palabra de Jehová?”

`And when thou sayest in thy heart, How do we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken? --

22 S i el profeta habla en nombre de Jehová, y no se cumple ni acontece lo que dijo, esa palabra no es de Jehová. Por presunción habló el tal profeta; no tengas temor de él.

that which the prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing is not, and cometh not -- it the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; in presumption hath the prophet spoken it; -- thou art not afraid of him.
