1 « I sacerdoti levitici, tutta quanta la tribù di Levi, non avranno parte né eredità con Israele; vivranno dei sacrifici consumati dal fuoco per il Signore e dell’eredità di lui.

`There is not to the priests the Levites -- all the tribe of Levi -- a portion and inheritance with Israel; fire-offerings of Jehovah, even His inheritance, they eat,

2 N on avranno, dico, alcuna eredità tra i loro fratelli; il Signore è la loro eredità, come egli ha detto loro.

and he hath no inheritance in the midst of his brethren; Jehovah Himself his inheritance, as He hath spoken to him.

3 Q uesto sarà il diritto dei sacerdoti sul popolo, su quelli che offriranno come sacrificio sia un bue sia una pecora: essi daranno al sacerdote la spalla, le mascelle e lo stomaco.

`And this is the priest's right from the people, from those sacrificing a sacrifice, whether ox or sheep, he hath even given to the priest the leg, and the two cheeks, and the stomach;

4 G li darai le primizie del tuo frumento, del tuo mosto e del tuo olio e le primizie della tosatura delle tue pecore,

the first of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy flock, thou dost give to him;

5 p oiché il Signore, il tuo Dio, lo ha scelto fra tutte le tue tribù, perché egli e i suoi figli si presentino a fare il servizio nel nome del Signore, per sempre.

for on him hath Jehovah thy God fixed, out of all thy tribes, to stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, He and his sons continually.

6 Q uando un Levita, partendo da una qualunque delle città dove soggiorna in Israele, verrà, seguendo il pieno desiderio del suo cuore, al luogo che il Signore avrà scelto

`And when the Levite cometh from one of thy cities out of all Israel, where he hath sojourned, and hath come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah doth choose,

7 e farà il servizio nel nome del Signore tuo Dio, come tutti i suoi fratelli Leviti che stanno lì davanti al Signore,

then he hath ministered in the name of Jehovah his God, like all his brethren, the Levites, who are standing there before Jehovah,

8 e gli riceverà per il suo mantenimento una parte uguale a quella degli altri, oltre a quello che gli può venire dalla vendita del suo patrimonio. La divinazione e la magia

9 « Quando sarai entrato nel paese che il Signore, il tuo Dio, ti dà, non imparerai a imitare le pratiche abominevoli di quelle nazioni.

`When thou art coming in unto the land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee, thou dost not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations:

10 N on si trovi in mezzo a te chi fa passare suo figlio o sua figlia per il fuoco, né chi esercita la divinazione, né astrologo, né chi predice il futuro, né mago,

there is not found in thee one causing his son and his daughter to pass over into fire, a user of divinations, an observer of clouds, and an enchanter, and a sorcerer,

11 n é incantatore, né chi consulta gli spiriti, né chi dice la fortuna, né negromante,

and a charmer, and one asking at a familiar spirit, and a wizard, and one seeking unto the dead.

12 p erché il Signore detesta chiunque fa queste cose; a motivo di queste pratiche abominevoli, il Signore, il tuo Dio, sta per scacciare quelle nazioni dinanzi a te.

`For the abomination of Jehovah every one doing these, and because of these abominations is Jehovah thy God dispossessing them from thy presence.

13 T u sarai integro verso il Signore Dio tuo;

Perfect thou art with Jehovah thy God,

14 p oiché quelle nazioni, che tu spodesterai, danno ascolto agli astrologi e agli indovini. A te, invece, il Signore, il tuo Dio, non lo permette. I profeti

for these nations whom thou art possessing, unto observers of clouds, and unto diviners, do hearken; and thou -- not so hath Jehovah thy God suffered thee.

15 « Per te il Signore, il tuo Dio, farà sorgere in mezzo a te, fra i tuoi fratelli, un profeta come me; a lui darete ascolto!

`A prophet out of thy midst, out of thy brethren, like to me, doth Jehovah thy God raise up to thee -- unto him ye hearken;

16 A vrai così quello che chiedesti al Signore tuo Dio, in Oreb, il giorno dell’assemblea, quando dicesti: “Che io non oda più la voce del Signore mio Dio, e non veda più questo gran fuoco, affinché io non muoia”.

according to all that thou didst ask from Jehovah thy God, in Horeb, in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not add to hear the voice of Jehovah my God, and this great fire let me not see any more, and I die not;

17 I l Signore mi disse: “Quello che hanno detto, sta bene;

and Jehovah saith unto me, They have done well that they have spoken;

18 i o farò sorgere per loro un profeta come te in mezzo ai loro fratelli, e metterò le mie parole nella sua bocca ed egli dirà loro tutto quello che io gli comanderò.

a prophet I raise up to them, out of the midst of their brethren, like to thee; and I have given my words in his mouth, and he hath spoken unto them all that which I command him;

19 A vverrà che, se qualcuno non darà ascolto alle mie parole che egli dirà in mio nome, io gliene domanderò conto.

and it hath been -- the man who doth not hearken unto My words which he doth speak in My name, I require of him.

20 M a il profeta che avrà la presunzione di dire in mio nome qualcosa che io non gli ho comandato di dire o che parlerà in nome di altri dèi, quel profeta sarà messo a morte”.

`Only, the prophet who presumeth to speak a word in My name -- that which I have not commanded him to speak -- and who speaketh in the name of other gods -- even that prophet hath died.

21 S e tu dici in cuor tuo: “Come riconosceremo la parola che il Signore non ha detta?”,

`And when thou sayest in thy heart, How do we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken? --

22 q uando il profeta parlerà in nome del Signore e la cosa non succede e non si avvera, quella sarà una parola che il Signore non ha detta; il profeta l’ha detta per presunzione; tu non lo temere.

that which the prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, and the thing is not, and cometh not -- it the word which Jehovah hath not spoken; in presumption hath the prophet spoken it; -- thou art not afraid of him.
