Praise ye Jah! Praise, O my soul, Jehovah.

2 I o loderò il Signore finché vivrò, salmeggerò al mio Dio finché esisterò.

I praise Jehovah during my life, I sing praise to my God while I exist.

3 N on confidate nei prìncipi, né in alcun figlio d’uomo, che non può salvare.

Trust not in princes -- in a son of man, For he hath no deliverance.

4 I l suo fiato se ne va, ed egli ritorna alla sua terra; in quel giorno periscono i suoi progetti.

His spirit goeth forth, he returneth to his earth, In that day have his thoughts perished.

5 B eato colui che ha per aiuto il Dio di Giacobbe e la cui speranza è nel Signore, suo Dio,

O the happiness of him Who hath the God of Jacob for his help, His hope on Jehovah his God,

6 c he ha fatto il cielo e la terra, il mare e tutto ciò che è in essi; che mantiene la fedeltà in eterno,

Making the heavens and earth, The sea and all that in them, Who is keeping truth to the age,

7 c he rende giustizia agli oppressi, che dà il cibo agli affamati. Il Signore libera i prigionieri,

Doing judgment for the oppressed, Giving bread to the hungry.

8 i l Signore apre gli occhi ai ciechi, il Signore rialza gli oppressi, il Signore ama i giusti,

Jehovah is loosing the prisoners, Jehovah is opening (the eyes of) the blind, Jehovah is raising the bowed down, Jehovah is loving the righteous,

9 i l Signore protegge i forestieri, sostenta l’orfano e la vedova, ma sconvolge la via degli empi.

Jehovah is preserving the strangers, The fatherless and widow He causeth to stand, And the way of the wicked He turneth upside down.

10 I l Signore regna per sempre; il tuo Dio, o Sion, regna per ogni età. Alleluia.

Jehovah doth reign to the age, Thy God, O Zion, to generation and generation, Praise ye Jah!
