2 E saù prese le sue mogli tra le figlie dei Cananei: Ada, figlia di Elon, l’Ittita; Oolibama, figlia di Ana,

Esau hath taken his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,

3 f iglia di Sibeon, l’Ivveo; e Basmat, figlia d’Ismaele, sorella di Nebaiot.

and Bashemath daughter of Ishmael, sister of Nebajoth.

4 A da partorì Elifaz a Esaù.

And Adah beareth to Esau, Eliphaz; and Bashemath hath born Reuel;

5 B asmat partorì Reuel; e Oolibama partorì Ieus, Ialam e Cora. Questi sono i figli di Esaù, che gli nacquero nel paese di Canaan.

and Aholibamah hath born Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah. These sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.

6 E saù prese le sue mogli, i suoi figli, le sue figlie, tutte le persone della sua casa, le sue greggi, tutto il suo bestiame e tutti i beni che aveva messi insieme nel paese di Canaan, e se ne andò in un altro paese, lontano da Giacobbe suo fratello,

And Esau taketh his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance which he hath acquired in the land of Canaan, and goeth into the country from the face of Jacob his brother;

7 p oiché il loro bestiame era troppo numeroso perché essi potessero abitare insieme; il paese nel quale soggiornavano non era loro sufficiente a causa del loro bestiame.

for their substance was more abundant than to dwell together, and the land of their sojournings was not able to bear them because of their cattle;

8 C osì Esaù abitò sulla montagna di Seir. Esaù è Edom.

and Esau dwelleth in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.

9 Q uesta è la discendenza di Esaù, padre degli Edomiti, sulla montagna di Seir.

And these births of Esau, father of Edom, in mount Seir.

10 Q uesti sono i nomi dei figli di Esaù: Elifaz, figlio di Ada, moglie di Esaù; Reuel, figlio di Basmat, moglie di Esaù.

These the names of the sons of Esau: Eliphaz son of Adah, wife of Esau; Reuel son of Bashemath, wife of Esau.

11 I figli di Elifaz furono: Teman, Omar, Sefo, Gatam e Chenaz.

And the sons of Eliphaz are Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz;

12 T imna era la concubina di Elifaz, figlio di Esaù; ella partorì Amalec a Elifaz. Questi furono i figli di Ada, moglie di Esaù.

and Timnath hath been concubine to Eliphaz son of Esau, and she beareth to Eliphaz, Amalek; these sons of Adah wife of Esau.

13 Q uesti furono i figli di Reuel: Naat e Zerac, Samma e Mizza. Questi furono i figli di Basmat, moglie di Esaù.

And these sons of Reuel: Nahath and Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah; these were sons of Bashemath wife of Esau.

14 Q uesti furono i figli di Oolibama, figlia di Ana, figlia di Sibeon, moglie di Esaù; ella partorì a Esaù: Ieus, Ialam e Cora.

And these have been the sons of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, daughter of Zibeon, wife of Esau; and she beareth to Esau, Jeush and Jaalam and Korah.

15 Q uesti sono i capi dei figli di Esaù: figli di Elifaz, primogenito di Esaù: il capo Teman, il capo Omar, il capo Sefo, il capo Chenaz,

These chiefs of the sons of Esau: sons of Eliphaz, first-born of Esau: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz,

16 i l capo Cora, il capo Gatam, il capo Amalec; questi sono i capi discesi da Elifaz, nel paese di Edom, e sono i figli di Ada.

chief Korah, chief Gatam, chief Amalek; these chiefs of Eliphaz, in the land of Edom; these sons of Adah.

17 Q uesti sono i figli di Reuel, figlio di Esaù: il capo Naat, il capo Zerac, il capo Samma, il capo Mizza; questi sono i capi discesi da Reuel, nel paese di Edom. E sono i figli di Basmat, moglie di Esaù.

And these sons of Reuel son of Esau: chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah; these chiefs of Reuel, in the land of Edom; these sons of Bashemath wife of Esau.

18 E questi sono i figli di Oolibama, moglie di Esaù: il capo Ieus, il capo Ialam, il capo Cora; questi sono i capi discesi da Oolibama, figlia di Ana, moglie di Esaù.

And these sons of Aholibamah wife of Esau: chief Jeush, chief Jaalam, chief Korah; these chiefs of Aholibamah daughter of Anah, wife of Esau.

19 Q uesti sono i figli di Esaù, che è Edom, e questi sono i loro capi.

These sons of Esau (who Edom), and these their chiefs.

20 Q uesti sono i figli di Seir, il Coreo, che abitavano il paese: Lotan, Sobal, Sibeon, Ana,

These sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,

21 D ison, Eser e Disan. Questi sono i capi dei Corei, figli di Seir, nel paese di Edom.

and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan; these chiefs of the Horites, sons of Seir, in the land of Edom.

22 I figli di Lotan furono: Cori ed Eman; e la sorella di Lotan fu Timna.

And the sons of Lotan are Hori and Heman; and a sister of Lotan Timna.

23 Q uesti sono i figli di Sobal: Alvan, Manaat, Ebal, Sefo e Onam.

And these sons of Shobal: Alvan and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho and Onam.

24 Q uesti sono i figli di Sibeon: Aia e Ana. Questo è quell’Ana che trovò le acque calde nel deserto, mentre pascolava gli asini di suo padre Sibeon.

And these sons of Zibeon, both Ajah and Anah: it Anah that hath found the Imim in the wilderness, in his feeding the asses of Zibeon his father.

30 i l capo Dison, il capo Eser, il capo Disan. Questi sono i capi dei Corei, i capi che essi ebbero nel paese di Seir.

31 Q uesti sono i re che regnarono nel paese di Edom, prima che alcun re regnasse sui figli d’Israele:

And these the kings who have reigned in the land of Edom before the reigning of a king over the sons of Israel.

32 B ela, figlio di Beor, regnò in Edom, e il nome della sua città fu Dinaba.

And Bela son of Beor reigneth in Edom, and the name of his city Dinhabah;

33 B ela morì e Iobab, figlio di Zerac, di Bosra, regnò al suo posto.

and Bela dieth, and reign in his stead doth Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah;

34 I obab morì e Cusam, del paese dei Temaniti, regnò al suo posto.

35 C usam morì e Adad, figlio di Bedad, che sconfisse i Madianiti nei campi di Moab, regnò al suo posto. E il nome della sua città fu Avit.

and Baal-hanan son of Achbor dieth, and reign in his stead doth Hadar, and the name of his city Pau; and his wife's name Mehetabel daughter of Matred, daughter of Me-zahab.

40 Q uesti sono i nomi dei capi discendenti da Esaù, secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro territori, con i loro nomi: il capo Timna, il capo Alva, il capo Ietet,

And these the names of the chiefs of Esau, according to their families, according to their places, by their names: chief Timnah, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth,

41 i l capo Oolibama, il capo Ela, il capo Pinon,

chief Aholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,

42 i l capo Chenaz, il capo Teman, il capo Mibsar, il capo Magdiel, il capo Iram.

chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

43 Q uesti sono i capi di Edom secondo i loro insediamenti, nel paese che possedevano. Questo Esaù era il padre degli Edomiti.

chief Magdiel, chief Iram: these chiefs of Edom, in reference to their dwellings, in the land of their possession; he Esau father of Edom.
