1 Q uesti sono i re del paese battuti dai figli d’Israele, i quali presero possesso del loro territorio di là dal Giordano, verso oriente, dalla valle dell’Arnon fino al monte Ermon, con tutta la pianura orientale:

And these kings of the land whom the sons of Israel have smitten, and possess their land, beyond the Jordan, at the sun-rising, from the brook Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain eastward.

2 S icon, re degli Amorei, che abitava a Chesbon e dominava da Aroer, che è sulle sponde del torrente Arnon, e dalla metà della valle e dalla metà di Galaad, fino al torrente Iabboc, confine dei figli di Ammon;

And the plain unto the sea of Chinneroth eastward, and unto the sea of the plain (the salt sea) eastward, the way to Beth-Jeshimoth, and from the south under the springs of Pisgah.

4 P oi il territorio di Og re di Basan, uno dei superstiti dei Refaim, che abitava ad Astarot e a Edrei,

and ruling in mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, unto the border of the Geshurite, and the Maachathite, and the half of Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

7 Q uesti sono i re del paese che Giosuè e i figli d’Israele batterono di qua dal Giordano, a occidente, da Baal-Gad nella valle del Libano fino alla montagna brulla che si eleva verso Seir, paese che Giosuè diede in possesso alle tribù d’Israele, secondo la parte che ne toccava a ciascuna,

And these kings of the land whom Joshua and the sons of Israel have smitten beyond the Jordan westward, from Baal-Gad, in the valley of Lebanon, and unto the mount of Halak, which is going up to Seir; and Joshua giveth it to the tribes of Israel -- a possession according to their divisions;
