1 B ienaventurado aquel cuya transgresión ha sido perdonada y cubierto su pecado.

By David. -- An Instruction. O the happiness of him whose transgression forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

2 B ienaventurado el hombre a quien Jehová no culpa de iniquidad y en cuyo espíritu no hay engaño.

O the happiness of a man, To whom Jehovah imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

3 M ientras callé, se envejecieron mis huesos en mi gemir todo el día,

When I have kept silence, become old have my bones, Through my roaring all the day.

4 p orque de día y de noche se agravó sobre mí tu mano; se volvió mi verdor en sequedades de verano. Selah

When by day and by night Thy hand is heavy upon me, My moisture hath been changed Into the droughts of summer. Selah.

5 M i pecado te declaré y no encubrí mi iniquidad. Dije: «Confesaré mis rebeliones a Jehová», y tú perdonaste la maldad de mi pecado. Selah

My sin I cause Thee to know, And mine iniquity I have not covered. I have said, `I confess concerning My transgressions to Jehovah,' And Thou -- Thou hast taken away, The iniquity of my sin. Selah.

6 P or esto orará a ti todo santo en el tiempo en que puedas ser hallado; ciertamente en la inundación de muchas aguas no llegarán éstas a él.

For this doth every saintly one pray to Thee, As the time to find. Surely at an overflowing of many waters, Unto him they come not.

7 T ú eres mi refugio; me guardarás de la angustia; con cánticos de liberación me rodearás. Selah

Thou a hiding-place for me, From distress Thou dost keep me, songs of deliverance dost compass me. Selah.

8 « Te haré entender y te enseñaré el camino en que debes andar; sobre ti fijaré mis ojos.

I cause thee to act wisely, And direct thee in the way that thou goest, I cause mine eye to take counsel concerning thee.

9 N o seáis como el caballo, o como el mulo, sin entendimiento, que han de ser sujetados con cabestro y con freno, porque si no, no se acercan a ti.»

Be ye not as a horse -- as a mule, Without understanding, With bridle and bit, its ornaments, to curb, Not to come near unto thee.

10 M uchos dolores habrá para el impío; mas al que espera en Jehová lo rodea la misericordia.

Many the pains of the wicked; As to him who is trusting in Jehovah, Kindness doth compass him.

11 A legraos en Jehová y gozaos, justos; ¡cantad con júbilo todos vosotros los rectos de corazón!

Be glad in Jehovah, and rejoice, ye righteous, And sing, all ye upright of heart!
