1 « Lleva a tu boca la trompeta, pues un águila viene sobre la casa de Jehová, porque traspasaron mi pacto y se rebelaron contra mi Ley.

`Unto thy mouth -- a trumpet, As an eagle against the house of Jehovah, Because they transgressed My covenant, And against My law they have rebelled.

2 A mí clamará Israel: “Dios mío, te hemos conocido.”

To Me they cry, `My God, we -- Israel -- have known Thee.'

3 I srael desechó el bien: el enemigo lo perseguirá.

Cast off good hath Israel, an enemy pursueth him.

4 » Ellos establecieron reyes, pero no escogidos por mí; constituyeron príncipes, mas yo no lo supe; de su plata y de su oro hicieron ídolos para sí, para ser ellos mismos destruidos.

They have made kings, and not by Me, They have made princes, and I have not known, Their silver and their gold they have made to them idols, So that they are cut off.

5 T u becerro, Samaria, te hizo alejarte. Se encendió mi enojo contra ellos: ¿Cuándo alcanzaréis la purificación?

Cast off hath thy calf, O Samaria, Burned hath Mine anger against them, Till when are they not capable of purity?

6 P orque ese becerro es de Israel; un artífice lo hizo. No es Dios, por lo que será deshecho en pedazos el becerro de Samaria.

For even it of Israel; an artificer made it, And it not God, For the calf of Samaria is fragments!

7 P orque sembraron vientos, segarán tempestades. No tendrán mies ni su espiga dará harina; y si la da, los extranjeros la comerán.

For wind they sow, and a hurricane they reap, Stalk it hath none -- a shoot not yielding grain, If so be it yield -- strangers do swallow it up.

8 ¡ Devorado será Israel! Pronto será entre las naciones como vasija que no se estima,

Israel hath been swallowed up, Now they have been among nations, As a vessel in which is no delight.

9 p ues ellos subieron a Asiria como un solitario asno salvaje. Efraín se ha alquilado amantes.

For they -- they have gone up Asshur, A wild ass alone by himself Ephraim, They have hired lovers!

10 A unque las alquile entre las naciones, ahora los reuniré, y serán afligidos un poco de tiempo bajo la carga del rey y de los príncipes.

Also though they hire among nations, Now I gather them, and they are pained a little, From the burden of a king of princes.

11 » Porque multiplicó Efraín los altares para pecar, tuvo altares sólo para pecar.

Because Ephraim did multiply altars to sin, They have been to him altars to sin.

12 L e escribí las grandezas de mi Ley, y fueron tenidas por cosa extraña.

I write for him numerous things of My law, As a strange thing they have been reckoned.

13 E n los sacrificios de mis ofrendas sacrificaron carne y comieron; Jehová no los quiso aceptar. Ahora se acordará él de su iniquidad, castigará su pecado y tendrán que volver a Egipto.

The sacrifices of Mine offerings! They sacrifice flesh, and they eat, Jehovah hath not accepted them, Now doth He remember their iniquity, And inspect their sin, They -- Egypt they turn back.

14 O lvidó, pues, Israel a su Hacedor, y edificó templos. Judá multiplicó sus ciudades fortificadas, mas yo mandaré a sus ciudades fuego que consumirá sus palacios.»

And forget doth Israel his Maker, and buildeth temples, And Judah hath multiplied cities of defence, And I have sent a fire into his cities, And it hath consumed their palaces!
